MKLovely little break in the country
Left on 03/28/2013 for a stay in March 2013
Great little place at the top of Staffield Hall.
You certainly need to be fit/mobile to get up to the top of the property! But it meant you had great views over the countryside and were tucked away from any other guests..
Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need.
Bed was comfy, Shower great, couldn't ask for more really.
Was an amazing base to explore Cumbria from and come back too after a long day out walking.
Couldn't recommend this place enough! -

Oxforda day's march...
Left on 09/24/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Positives... Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable apartment.
Negatives... It wasn't made clear that this was an apartment at the very top of the tower, up two long double staircases and then a walk along corridors to the furthest part of the building. No shortcuts, no lifts, everything had to be carried in several trips to the appartment. Wouldn't recommend to the elderly (us!) or infirm.
Also lack of communication about the Key codes left us chasing round making phonecalls the day before leaving. -

Blackfordby, South DerbyshirePeel Tower, Kirkoswald!! - superb...!!
Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Not much i can say other than absolutely superb. I'd recommend it to anyone. Peaceful, luxurious, all the bits and pieces you need in an appartment, clean, tidy and perfectly situated for exploring the North West!
I'd go again tomorrow if i could...but unfortunately like most of us we have to work. Nevermind, maybe i'll be there again later in the year!
What a time we had...!!

WiganA Mini Downton abbey
Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Approaching Staffield Hall one is inclined to think a mistake has been made - we expected an apartment and got a mansion. Perhaps Staffield Hall is not as grand as Downton abbey but the entrance hall and staircase with stained glass windows are certainly a 'wow'.
Our apartment was Peel Tower, unsurprisingly at the top of the house, but this was no cramped attic - a generous living room, lovely bedroom (with a huge bed), bathroom with a power shower and jacussi bath plus a small but perfectly formed kitchen; all of which were spotlessly clean.
The location is ideal if, as we were, you are in search of peace and quiet. We had no idea if the other apartments were occupied because we couldn't hear a thing - the thick walls I suppose.
All in all, an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life - a gem.
