In august we stayed in Tower Cottage, Kirksanton. It's a spacious yet cosy house and we had everything we needed. We loved the views we had and the sheep and horses in the nearby pasture.
We had to drive quite a while to visit most parts of the Lake District, but driving around was never dull, so we didn't see this as a downside. I also liked the fact that the sea was really nearby, we visited Hodbarrow Reserve one day. So we didn't only have lakes, mountains and fells, but also the wide open sea !
Perfect Combination of Beach and Lakes

Stayed here in aug me, my husband and children aged 9 and 13. Lovely cottage, very spacious and kitchen well equipped. Large screen TV with sky, so teenager son was kept happy! Walked to local beach, georgeous white sand and so quiet, saw sum total of 2 people walking their dogs and a dead seal! Visted Wast Water, fantastic and also Windermere, Keswick and Hawskhead.
Was told I looked very relaxed when I got home - sign of a good holiday. Would definitely recommend the cottage to all.
We organized a holiday in a brewery (successfully)

A charming cottage next to the Tower of the old Banksprings Brewery which closed in the 60s. Beautiful, comfortable cottage. Very friendly owners. They left us some fresh eggs one morning which were delicious. We just had a totally wonderful time. Very good location in one of the quieter areas of the Lake District and thankfully so.

Although some of the kitchen utensils and equipment were wanton for a group of six, and the cleanliness of the kitchen was not exactly to norm but after cleaning everything down we survived. The accommodation was very attractively refurbished and was perfect with plenty of space to relax. If you love the seaside this is the perfect spot to combine mountain and sea escapes.
Everything you could want

Tower Cottage is a lovely place to stay; a warm welcome and stunnimg views from all rooms. There was nothing more that you could need within the house; it is very nicely furnished, comfortable and spacious. The surrounding area is lovely and you can travel to most tourist areas quite easily. The nearby beaches are good for picnics and Milom is handy for stocking up the cupboard. We would definately recommend a stay here.
