From the lovely welcome pack to the friendly owner, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean cottage, not to mention the lovely views and peaceful seclusion, this is a cottage I would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is very well fitted out and suitable for those less mobile. Technically the lake district is about a mile down the road.don't be put off the scenery is excellent and the countryside very accessible without the crowds of windermere.
A beautiful cottage clean warm and very comfortable. The owner was very generous, wine, bread, butter, milk, coffee and biscuits being provided. Good pubs nearby and excellent walking in the area. The cottage was always warm and had good supply of hot water.Lovely views from the front windows and a regular visit from a barn owl.

This cottage is stunning. Although the owners live next door we were not interupted by them at all. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and well stocked and a lovely welcome pack met us on arrival. We were disappointed by the local pub so had to travel further afield but that is not the fault of the owners.

A comfortable well equiped cottage in lovely rural surroundings, infact everything it says in the description. The owner had provided an excellent welcome pack and we have no hesitation in recommending the cottage.

Lovely spacious cottage. Great hospitality from the owners. Lovely cot provided for our 1 year old. A short car drive to some lovely sand dunes which our 3 year old really enjoyed. Absolutley nothing to fault.

In over 30 years of holidaying in the UK we have never found such a wonderful property. So often a cottage in, or near, the owners' own is full of cast off, second hand, worn out items. Not so Standing Stones. From the new Sony flatscreen tv to the 1,2,3 seater suite. The kitchen was thoughfully laid out and provided with a "welcome pack" including wine, coffee, bread etc. The underfloor heating (with individual room thermostats)was a joy. The private drive has room for 3 cars and is hard paved so even wet weather - yes, it sometimes does rain in the Lakes - you dont tramp mud and stuff into the cottage. Situated in the South West of Lakeland you are close enough to the main attractions to enjoy them but not be forever in crowds. So much to see and do. The local pubs offer a wide range of meals at an equally wide range of prices. Dont miss the Ravenglass/Eskdale railway or Muncaster castle, home of the world owl trust. If you want to keep it simple the beach is a short walk and the cottage has its own private garden
