Located in Indian Ridge just off of Old Lake Wilson Rd, 3 miles from US-192 and only 5 miles to Disney. Every thing you could need for your vacation is just up the road on US 192. There are dozens of shops and restaurants all within 5 miles including all the fast food regulars, chain restaurants and local favorites. The Oleander was completely remodeled in 2004 including new walls, floors, kitchen, baths and furniture. You can see from the photos what a modern look the home now has. This was our second time renting a home through Gemstone.The home we had rented before was not available so we picked another one. After making the reservation we were notified that the owner had already promised the home to someone else for the time we wanted and hadn't told Gemstone. Gemstone offered us 3 properties for the same rental rate and we chose Oleander.
On the plus side, this home is in a quiet neighborhood and is handy to Disney and the many restaurants/shopping on SR 192. The house has a nice layout and the furnishings were nice with the exception of a very worn arm chair in the master bdrm.
On the negative side, the Indian Ridge neighborhood has a lot of homes which are not well cared for so the overall impression of the neighborhood is not great. The Oleander home itself is showing its age and could use an interior repaint and thorough cleaning. The home has not been well maintained.
The only towels supplied were bath towels, no hand towels or wash cloths were supplied. We called Gemstone regarding the toaster that didn't work and the oven that needed to be cleaned and they were quick to respond with a new toaster and tried to clean the oven as best they could. The cooking utensils were also well used.
Overall our stay at this property was average. We would not rent this particular property again or any property in the Indian Ridge neighborhood. We were in Florida for a month and had time to look around at other communities with rental properties and there are some very nice ones so there is no need to settle for a second rate property.
The service we received from Gemstone was excellent, just a bad choice of property. In hind sight we should have paid more attention to the reviews on this property. -

We received good service at the office but when we are checking in at house we found that the Gemstone's password to enter the house it was wrong. We call to the emergency number but nobody answered.
We received a call from the Manager until the next day at the morning
We have two grandchildren one, 4 years old, traveling from Spain and other almost 2 years coming from Southamerica. We liked the house, it was in good conditions, clean and comfortable. The kitchen's amenities are new. The rest of amenities are ok. The location is great, very close to Disney World and some other atractions and restaurants. The community is nice. -

We are from The Netherlands (Europe) and it was my 9th time vacation Florida. Normally always booked a hotel and now for the first time a rental home. I always prefer before i go, to know what i get,this is why i choosed for Gemstone and the home Oleander. You know what you get and where it is.I like space around me and not in backyard direct an other home. This home has free space around the home, but for children there is a safe place to play.(there is a playground in visual sight in the back at 30mtrs.distance).Home is on a death end street, so it is nice. Supermarket(Target),Starbucks,Breakfast at 10min.drive distances. Disney, Walmart other shops at 15 min.drive distance. Very nice was your own swimpool and wake up in the morning and eat your breakfast in the backyard while you hear the sound of birds. Temperature in home was perfect with the airco. We liked also that you don't need a key for the home, you receive by reservation a code for the door and you get an alarmcode for the alarmsystem. So easy and safe. In home also Wifi and works fast and easy.(you receive login information before you arrive, so easy and relax). We like playing Golf and there is more then 1 golfcourse in the surroundings. The handling for reservation and paperwork goes smooth, easy and clear. You don't need to go to an office, so everything what you need you receive it by email but they have an office if you prefer to see them. You can lay it in there hands and you know that everything will be OK.

Overall the house met our needs as a temporary location during corporate relocation. It was centrally located to all Kissimmee and Disney amenities but we felt it wasn't in the most desirable location. The home sits in an older development in a location surrounded by lots of other vacation homes. However, there are multiple homes that neighbor it that are old, dirty and possibly in foreclosure or are vacant. While the home was fairly well kept a alot more could be done to make it stand out on the block. The inside of the home met our needs and the pool was an added bonus however the house had some minor nicks and scrapes associated with wear and tear. The value to rent the home would likely please most but in our opinion it is not worth $500 - $700 per week.

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property. We especially enjoyed the closeness to the theme parks. The home was clean and comfortable, and the price was much better than many other rentals I checked out. The appliances were modern and functional. The neighborhood wasn't the fanciest, but it wasn't scary, either.

Very comfortable house, the distribution of rooms where ideal for five people, and we had all the amenities we needed.
Oleander has a great location because it is really close to Disney, we enjoyed our stay there. -

Gemstone is a great company to work with. Even with last minute unforseeable issues they gladly upgraded our accomadations. It was great to come HOME every day. This home is minutes from Disney and anything else you may need. The neighborhood was quiet, the open land in the back provided privacy. The small playground was easily viewable from the pool area. The king size master bed was the most comfortable sleep I have ever had. My children look forward to returning to this home in the future. We loved our private pool. Just remember that in renting a home you are responsible for all of your basic supplies, and not all kitchens are equiped the same.

The service I receive from Mary with Gemstone was very courteous and professional. However, we were not satisfied with the neighborhood and home we rented. The exterior appearance of the home looked very inviting, but the interior needs a thorough painting and cleaning from "top to bottom". The location was very close to attractions,etc and our 7 year old son very much enjoyed the pool. Overall, we feel the price of the home is way over-priced due to the neighborhood and cleanliness.

We had a great time at the house.
We have always stayed at hotels before but this is so much more comfortable.
The property is not too far from Disneyworld, it is clean, private, quiet and well appointed.
We highly recommend this property and Gemstone. -

We were very pleased with our stay. The pool was nice (we paid to have it heated). We loved that there was a newly remodeled kitchen with dishwasher and laundry area. This was our first time renting a home in Florida and we were nervous about it, but were surprised at the quality of the house and how relaxing everything was. The pool was private since it backed up to a grassy area. There is a little play area for the kids and they loved that. I would definitely stay here again. I think our boys (12, 7 and 8) liked the home better than the theme parks because they had their OWN pool to play in.

I have stayed in many houses management by Gemstone Properties
in Orlando. The houses are always clean and comfortable.
The best thing about this house is the playground in the back of the
house. There is a big tree and a huge playground in the field behind
the house. You can sit on the back patio and see your kids playing.
Overall a great experience. -

This rental is really clean. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. My children enjoyed the pool. The bedrooms were decorated nicely for my childrens' taste (Disney decorations). We enjoyed the king size master bedroom and the large bathtub. It was close to Disney so that was a plus. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinners at our leisure instead of always eating out at restaurants which we have commonly done when staying at hotels. I highly recommend this rental and I would not hesitate to visit again.
