This house was in a wonderful location close to everything and only a short walk to beach access. The house was very comfortable and stocked well. The pool and hot tub were nice. The back yard is fenced but pretty un-usable due to prickly growth. Nice set-up for two families. Thank You!

The best part about this property is its proximity to the beach. The inside is very basic. The pictures for the property were clearly taken some time ago when everything was newer and cleaner. You can tell it's been a while since things were refreshed. The ceiling fans are worn out. ost of them made horrible grinding noises. The thermostat for the house is in a bad spot because one side of the house was cool while the kitchen side was always hot which also happens to be the side with the master bedroom. There are several places where paint was missing because it had simply worn off and never recovered. The hot tub controls were on the blink. Many times the heat would just turn itself off and the display would just blink rapidly. So you would go to get in it and it would be cold. There were no lights for the front. So your are going up these stairs to enter the house in the dark. The games downstairs were both broken. When we checked in, there were still items from the last people in the closets and drawers. Then in the middle of the week, the place was put up for sale. I guess it's an as is property. It needs a lot of cosmetic work to be up to what I feel would be comfortable and presentable.

We had a truly lovely time - 2 weeks - at Paradise by the Sea! The house lay out was perfect in that we were able to keep two separate groups happy - My husband and I (and our 2 dogs) slept in the master bedroom with the kingsized bed while my daughter and her husband (and any guests that visited) slept on the other side of the house. We're early risers, they're late to bed people, with our different schedules we never bothered each other with any of our normal morning or night time activities (walking dogs at 5:30 a.m., watching TV/reading until 1 a.m., etc.).
I did spend an hour or two our first day to clear the back yard of all cacti and 'pricker' grass so that our dogs could run free without pain - but that kind of vegetation just comes with the territory.
The pool was kept clean and the lawn was mowed and we never felt interrupted or disturbed by any of those services. The Seaside rental staff that we had contact with (check-in, mid week cleaning, etc.) were wonderful. The entire two weeks were mostly heaven! -

We loved our vacation at Paradise by the Sea. Even our dog loved being there with us. There were a few foosball tournaments and our kids really enjoyed the pool and beach. The house was clean and comfortable in a really nice neighborhood. I would book this for next year without hesitation except for the fact that there was no internet! This will be a deal breaker for my family, unless the owner adds can add this basic amenity.

The whole experience with Seaside Realty was awesome..everyone was friendly, helpful and very nice. The house, Paradise by the Sea leaves a lot to be desired. The carpets were filthy, it looks like they had not be cleaned for a very long time. The throw rugs were filthy too. It doesn't look like the owners pay much attention to the house. The newer refrigerator and dishwasher were nice and worked well. There were not any steak knives in the house at all. There were not any lounge chairs at the house, not by the pool or on the deck. The adirondack plastic chairs down at the pool were uncomfortable and hard to get out of especially if you were wet. One of the chairs were broken also. The garage door would go up and down on its own randomly also. I have been staying on the Outer Banks for 19 years and I know that this kind of thing is not the result of the Realty company but more of the owners lack of attention. It is a shame because this house could be really nice with its pool, hot tub and location. We will rent with Seaside again, but not sure if would stay at Paradise again. All in all our vacation was a good one, we made do and worked around the problems, bought some knives and floats and enjoyed our time on the Outer Banks. Thanks!

Being our first vacation home rental, we were a little leary, but it turned out to be a great experience. We asked the folks at Seaside about getting into the house early and they called my cell phone when it was ready (2 hrs early!!)
During our stay, the washing machine pump went out. It took 2 phone calls and 1 full day to get someone to look at it, but the maintanance man immediately called for a appliance repairman who ordered the part. They came and put it in 2 days later. The staff were very understanding and helpful throughout this dilema.
The home was very clean amd neat. (I did not like the strong musty smell in the basement, however, but we only used it to wash clothes.)
The house is only 1 block from the beach. Super awesome!! (The beach was very clean in the area close - 1/2 mi either side of the house.) We were also very close to good restaurants. (Papa John's Pizza is within 1/2 mi and you don't have to get on the main road from the house!!!)
The pool was very refreshing and my husband really enjoyed the spa.
I would warn you: do not go into the yard barefoot! My daughter did and was stuck with several spurs from the local grass/weeds/cacti growing there. Ouch!
Despite the spurs, we felt totally safe in the house. There are several 'locals' living close to the house and it seemed to be in a good neighborhood. It was very quiet.
***be sure to pick up a current Sunny Day coupon book at a grocery/restaurant/ travel place. They have several useful coupons and info on the area and things to do.
I highly recommend Carolina Seafood Buffet ($24 all u can eat early bird special with coupon!!!). Local seafood plus prime rib, Snow Crabs (<3!!) plus the service is very good/friendly.
Also, I recommend the Corolla Outback adventures wild hourse tour. It was expensive, but well worth it. My children loved it. (4 wheelin on the beach & seeing beautiful wild horses, who wouldn't!!)

Great Beach house! Very comfortable but not so fancy that you felt uncomfortable with a little sand on your feet. Nice setup for dogs. The only drawback is the cactus in the yard...but that comes with the territory. :)

Bathrooms - very small - not sufficient hot water for 3 people - no electrical outlets in bathrooms for hair dryers, etc. Basement was very dingy and dark, game room that was advertised was never used as it was unfinished. Garage door opened and closed by itself one evening - never could determine how that happened. Could not find the DVR players which were advertised and the television sets were very outdated.

Stay was great. I had called bunch of other places but seaside Vacation made things alot easy for us. Friendly Staff. Talk to Donna Walston Sveral timesfor reservation she is the most awesom person. We were suppose to check in on thursday the day Hurrican earl was suppose to hit the Outer banks the staff contcted us to let us know about the evacuation's and kept us up to date on the most current weather conditions. We had a nice time as usual in OBX except for our leaky roof. The night of 6/29 it rained. The ceiling in the queen bedroom leaked and dripped on my daughter's head while she was sleeping. Of course it woke her up. She used a trash can from the bathroom to collect the water for the rest of the night. Her pillow was soaked. About 4 inches of water was collected in the trash can. I called the emergency number first thing Wednesday morning and spoke with adele who stated that someone would be out that day to have a look and we didn't need to be at the house. As far as I know, nobody ever came to look at the problem. There was someone at the house until 7 pm when we left for dinner. Again the next day there was someone at the house all day. I don't know if anyone ever came. No one from Seaside even called to check on the status of the leak. Apparently, it wasn't very important to you that my daughter and grandchild had a wet bed. I am a bit dissappointed about your lack of follow thru on a mechanical problem.

Other than the leak in the one bedroom and the lawn guy filling the pool with grass when he mowed we enjoyed our stay at Paradise by the Sea.We loved the location. Close to everything we wanted to do and a short easy walk to the beach.

We always enjoy our stay in the Outerbanks and this time was no different! This house is beautiful and comfortable. It only had a few minor issues with the doors in the home. Some were hard to open, some didn't lock at all, the master bathroom door was a folding door that didn't lock! We also wondered why Seaside wouldn't let us check-in when we saw that the house was ready for over an hour before they called us!

It's the little things that count - like toilet paper and trash bags waiting for you in the house when you don't get there until nearly midnight. The house was neat and clean and only a block from the ocean.

The house was very nice. We had plenty of room for our family of 7 and dog. The pool and hot tub were used regularly due to weather and no swimming flags. The yard was not mowed and was full of briars of some sort that my dog kept getting stuck in his feet. This limited our ability to let the dog run and play in the yard. The game room in the basement was dirty and unkept. I did not feel comfortable having my child play there. Other than that, the porches, proximity to the beach and overall accommodation were fine.

The best feature of this home is a combination of pet-friendly accomodations with an enclosed yard. The private pool and proximity to the beach, closed the deal. I found many maintenance issues needing addressed from decayed fencing with nails protruding, a problematic refrigerator, remote controls not functioning and my least favorite, the spooky foul-smelling unfinished basement that I dared not, venture into. Lest I forget the "screened-in porch" area which unfortunately, felt more like a sauna than a relaxing and welcoming porch with a breeze. I understood why the ceiling fan was already in motion when I arrived and it's continuous use proved to be in vain as there was no relief from the sizzling heat within the confines of that area.
I really think that with a little bit of attention to those areas aforementioned, this home may one day be, a paradise by the sea and let me say that regardless of the faulty issues within this dwelling, I enjoyed myself and my vacation despite a myriad of minor inconvienences. Good tidings to the next vacationer..!!

Our experience at Paradise by the Sea in Kitty Hawk was very relaxing and I would consider returning. The home was comfortable and the right size for our needs. What we liked best: check-in and check-out process, pool, hot tub, location, fenced in yard for the dogs.
What we didn't like: gameroom was not really finished off and not comfortable to relax in, refrigerator freezer did not work well at all, wet bar was not a wet bar, but merely a counter island and DVD did not work.
