The Classic Outer Banks vacation rental home "Dorman" is just across the street from the beach with good beach access. Located at 4506 North Virginia Dare Trail in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina at Mile Post 3. This home is close to shopping and restaurants. Enjoy the southern charm of the Outer Bank’s while sitting in the rocking chairs on the screened in porch and sipping on an ice-cold glass of lemonade. This was our first beach vacation with our son who just turned 2. We planned on spending much time doing other things and not being in the house, so we were not concerned with all the bells and whistles of the nicer homes. We had plenty of plates, cooking utensils, and pots. The dishwasher was a plus. Basic TV channels, but we weren't there much. Bathroom was very small and very basic but the toilet flushed great. (Very picky about that) The bedrooms are small but was great because we could have our room and know our son was just a door away. Washer and Dryer was awesome. Just right across Beach Road. Nice to hear the waves at night. Wish the owners would have put a covered open front porch instead of the screened, but I survived!

The house is facing the ocean with Kitty Hawk right behind. A few minutes driving from Walmart, Harris Teeter's, Ride aid, etc. Very convenient. A few blocks away you can find sea shops, gas stations, good restaurants. Not to mention that you can easily walk to the beach any time. The view of the sea is kind of blocked by three houses just in front of this one. I'd rather to book one of those, but my wife said it would make it scarier when storms come, which did happen at the first night we were there. So it's a nice compromise to her. The house seems old but cozy, the floor is not 100% clean but understandable. You have washing machine and dryer readily available, so we let the baby crawl on the floor anyway. She seemed enjoying the new temp home.
It's a nice vacation home for small-size family. The bathroom is tiny, and not very sound-proofing. With the price and the good location, I think it's a wonderful deal.Response from Wright Property Management - 04/26/2011

House was not cleaned well before we arrived.Other then a semi-clean beach house we enjoyed our stay and could recommend property to others. You can open door and listen to waves crash on beach at night. Quiet area. Clean beach. Wife and I loved kitty hawk. Very friendly locals, great dining near property.
