This house was lovingly made in about 1950 and restored after Hurricane Irene, and the owners show a lot of pride in their home. Its clean, reasonable, has a fantastic warm water shower outside, and the kids can play on the beach and sit on the deck or go in to thehouse whenever they need. There is nothing like being right on the beach. We love Mitch's Haven!

This is our second year here and next year we will be back. The house is such a cozy cottage. The location is beyond compare especially with small children and all the stuff they take to the beach. Packing from home was easy - clothes and food. The kitchen is so well equipt and having the linens/towels provided was fantastic. The mattresses aren't the best, but I can make up for that with a nice nap on the beach.

The house was in a great location and just the right size for the 5 of us. However, the first night we were there we discovered that the washing machine was not working. We called the office and were told they would call us back. The following day, a maintenance man came and said he had been to the house last week and told the agency that the washer could not be fixed. At no time were we contacted by the agency to tell us where we could find a laundrymat, sorry for the inconvenience...nothing. Because we flew down, we packed lightly and clearly planned on having a washer. It would have been nice for them to have notified us, so we could have packed accordingly, or told us where to go to do our laundry, or even reimbursing us for having to pay for our laundry. I felt like they didn't really care about us since they had already gotten our money!!

You couldn't ask for a more perfect, on the beach vacation location. The home is older, but just right for myself, husband, 10 year old and 7 year old. One big disappointment was the washer broke down early in our week and was never fixed...apparently waiting on the owner to okay parts. The washer, it turns out, is a major amenitie when you expect to have one and plan your packing accordingly. Overall we had a wonderful vacation and hope to return to the Outer Banks again.
