This home is right across the street from the beach and has fantastic ocean views from both decks. We could even see our family on the sand from the top deck and the beach at this location is wide enough. The kitchen is well-stocked with equipment and the rooms are pleasantly decorated. 2 of the bedrooms have ocean views from the sliding glass doors opening to a deck. There was even a baby gate to use at the top of the stairs. The teenagers and older people appreciated being right across the street from the beach. We have stayed at several cottages in the Outer Banks since the early 1980s and this is a top-rate cottage. It is also close to shopping, restaurants and mini golf - easy driving distance.

Not one complaint about anything. House was clean when we arrived. Weather was good all week. Very short walk to the beach. Great restaurants close by.

We had a great time...the furniture was nice and clean and the house well maintained.
the location was great...the tv remotes in the bedrooms and one bedroom lamp didn't work, and some slats from the vertical blinds were missing.. living room carpet looked like it needed cleaned.,but overall the house was nice and we hope to stay there again next year. Resort Realty was great to work with. -

The house was lovely, a bit smaller than I thought but we did fine with it. There were a few kitchen gadgets that would have been welcome; no cheeze grater; or mixer/processor. Other than that, it was amazing.

When I walked in the cottage, I was in shock! The floor was the first thing you see. It looked like it wasn't vacuumed. We immediately took out the vacuum cleaner. When we turned it on, it only spit back out what we vacuumed. I called the office to report it. 2 cleaning service members brought a new one. That one picked up crumbs, but smelled horrible. I called the office the next day and was told a new bag would be left outside, because we were heading out for the day. It never arrived. There were food crumbs on the kitchen table and floor. I had to go buy Clorox wipes and clean it myself. I felt a lot of things that were broken could have been repaired prior to our arrival. In the living room, there were missing blinds. I moved the ones on the end to the middle where blinds were missing. Why couldn't this have been done before? The outdoor chairs on the deck should be replaced. I understand that having a house near the water can be damaged quickly, but I was very disappointed with the upkeep after spending so much money for our two week stay. The house definitely needs to be painted again. Our hands and towels would have peeled paint chips after touching the outside shower. I feel we left the cottage cleaner than when we arrived.
The best part was the view and easy access to the beach. In order for my family to stay there again, repairs and upkeep need to happen.Response from Resort Realty Outer Banks - 09/30/2010

We pride ourselves in assuring homes are in proper working order and fit our guests needs. Since your visit we have notified our housekeeping department and the owner of this home. The owner has replaced the deck furniture and brought a new vacuum. He is going to be replacing the carpet and re-painting the shower before the beginning of the rental season. He is looking into a better solution for the blinds. Again, thank you for bringing these items to our attention!

My family loved the Bruce/Davis house. The location to the beach, dinning, and shopping was very convenient. The house was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed to make our week in Kitty Hawk relaxing and enjoyable.

A nicely appointed house with an ideal location. Provides a great combination of value, beach location, and it is within walking distance to the Pelican - a personal favorite. We had an awesome family vacation and will definitely revisit when we return to the Banks.

We only stayed in the Bruce/Davis house one time, and found it to be comfortable and clean. There were six people in our group. The rooms were a little small, but not crowded. The layout of rooms is good with plenty of good views to the ocean. I liked the proximity to the ocean the best. I liked the wood paneling in the bathroom the least (made it seem dark and small). It was close to stores and restaurants. Dealing with the Prudential group has never been a problem, they are always professional.

This truly is a paradise "diamond in the rough". The views are spectacular. The accommodations are excellent. The price is more than reasonable. The only reason we did not return this year was a scheduling conflict with our son's new job. We will be back next year for sure.
