  The Sandy Pineapple was absolutely adorable -beachy but not too nick nacky. It was extremely clean and comfortable. The flat screen Tv's in every room were an unexpected added bonus. The beach is just a very short (quite easy) walk away. On-site laundry was great to have.
  
  We called Seaside (rental company) once because of a clogged drain in the hallway bathroom and they responded the next morning to fix the problem.
  
  Overall, we loved this place and had a great, relaxing stay.

  Beautiful home right next to the beach

  Checking in was very easy, and the staff was friendly. The house was clean and neat when we arrived. It has two very nice porches, one of which is screened in, so on the night that it rained we were still able to enjoy the outside. The walk to the beach is approx. two blocks, and was very easy. The short distance from the beachfront keep us away from all the cars and foot traffic, but close enough to have extremely easy beach access. The house was beautiful, towels, sheets, and dishes were all provided, and there was a nice bar area that provided extra seating in the kitchen. All-in-all, an excellent choice, I would absolutely rent this house again in the future!

  Overall, this is a very nice affordable house in a great location. The beach is about as close as you can get without being right on the beach. The house has been recently updated and is in good condition. The furniture is uncomfortable though, and the living room DVD player didn't work with the TV. There are TVs and DVD players in all 3 bedrooms and they all work fine.

  Frustrating

  The home was as described, however the follow thru on a few appliance problems was very frustrating, and lead to a bad taste in our mouth. The outdoor shower cement floor should be larger as the mud splashed up on you feet, and outdoor clothesline would be helpful, especially with beach towels and suits. The home did not have a tea kettle, not handy if you have coffee drinkers as well. Unit was decorated nicely, living room furniture was a bit uncomfortable, if you sat for 30/45 minutes. Screened porch was fabulous,great way to start you day, and enjoyed many Uno and Mille Borne games out there during night time. Upon check in associate had an ' attitude and the same womwn had the same attitude upon check out, not very welcoming !! I had read that any left over non perishable foods could be left for the local food pantry and rather than bring it home to Massachusetts, I opted to leave it at the Seaside office, it went very unappreciated by the women behind the counter. The response to the kitchen appliance issue was very disappointing, the stove not working and after getting that fixed the burner would not shut off was hard to work around especially since I had invited the other family group to " my home " for dinner that evening,it was tough to get all 18 people fed with the kitchen stove not working, and a small outdoor grille to cook on. There was no response to an emergency call for 22 hours, totally unacceptable, and I was the one who followed up on the call not Seaside. And to think that I have not even had a apology from the office, despite writing comments on the enclosed comment card.

  Small house with screened in deck

  Overall this house was great. Don't be fooled by the picture, you can only get in the top floor of the house which consists of three small bedrooms. All they are used for though is to sleep. The rest of the time you find yourself sitting on the screened in porch that (for us) blocked out wind fairly well and kept the insect bites low. The screen in deck made this place.
  
  The not so great part was the interior was dated with wood panel walls that were dark and made it gloomy inside. But you don't go to the beach to sit inside, so this wasn't a deal breaker.
  
  Overall, I would definitely go back to this house.

  Wow, what a great place

  This cottage was a great value for the money. The location is excellent (equal distance to the Northern and Southern attractions, and a short walk to the beach). It was clean and comfortable. The beds are a little firmer than what I'm accustomed too, but I got used to it. It was probably the best equipped rental that we ever stayed in. Plenty of dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. Upon arrival, you will find a complimentary insulated beach bag with things to help you settle in quickly, including 2 rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher soap tab, and a few garbage bags. Beds were made upon arrival (except for the upper trundle). The towels were very clean and plentiful. Loved having a washer and dryer. It was situated in small room on the ground floor (which required leaving the house and using the stairs to access it), but it was not that inconvenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful every step of the way. We took advantage of some of the Club Seaside perks, including the free tour of the Whalehead Club, Wine tasting, and two free tickets for the horse tour at the Northern Beaches. (I did call ahead to reserve the time slots). We are thinking of staying in this cottage again next year or another one, as long as it's with Seaside Vacations. It was a very good experience.

  Great Beach House!!!

  Check in was a very easy process. The home itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. The living room TV stopped working on the 1st night, the owner was very quick to replace it. The property is 1 block away from the beach, very convenient. I would recommend this house to anyone. We were very happy with our 1st trip to OBX and are planning on visiting again for a family vacation.

  Our family's first trip to the Outer Banks was a great time.

  My husband, myself, and our two children had a great time at the Outer Banks. We stayed at the Schaubach house and found it very nice. Furnishings were average, but the house was clean. ( I'm not comfortable if a house isn't clean. ) The outside shower was very handy, and we also enjoyed the screened in porch. The location was perfect. House is only about two blocks from the main highway, but we did not have any road noise. It is also about two or three blocks from the beach. This was an easy straight walk to beach access even for our 6 year old. The neighbor is very nice and quiet! Local chain grocery stores and restaurants are near by too. I made reservations through SeaSide only about a week prior to our arrival and had no problems. Their staff was very friendly and helpful. The total price quoted was the exact total price that was charged. Check-in and check-out was super easy. What we liked the best was the location and average comforts of the house. I don't really have any negatives to say about the house. Just know that the overall feel to the house is average.

  We were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations, how clean the house was and how well stocked the kitchen was!
  Seaside vacation rentals made it possible to stay a partial week during the peak season;something others didn't want to talk about. Their staff was very friendly and were available to answer questions about the area.
  The house was a block from the ocean and made walks on the beach a daily occurrence.
  The 1 drawback was it's on the second floor; except for the laundry and sand shower. Great place!

  The house is really nice and quite comfortable. Love the screened in porch and the super comfortable bed in the master bedroom.
  
  Only two minor complaints:
  There was a lack of good frying pans in the kitchen. Otherwise the kitchen is well stocked.
  
  The floors weren't real clean. My baby was crawling around and would always get dirty knees.
  
  We had a great time and would definitely come back!

  OB Vacation

  SeaSide Vacations performed poorly. I made reservations for Saltaire on the 16th. Was notified on the day of arrival that Saltaire was already booked and had to switch accomidations. Arrived after dark to find we were to stay at Schaubach but only had keys to Saltaire in packet. Twice requested in person that rent be reduced because Schaubach rents for less than Saltaire. So far only one phone message from Gloria which I returned today.
  
  Home was nice, enjoyed beack, and area was great for biking. I plan on coming back, but will not use SeaSide Vacations. All of the biking and paddling community in Chattanooga either know my opinion or will soon.
