When we walked into the house, all 3 of us decided that it was a fantastic find and well worth the money that we paid. It was great being right on the beach; the deck was a total plus...sliding glass doors in 4 rooms overlooking the beach was perfect. We had no problems working with Seaside Vacations. Keyless entry was easy. The Pearl is in a great location...Kitty Hawk is centrally located on the island so it was a great home base. All in all, a really terrific week.

This is a very nice Oceanfront home for small to medium families (only 3 bedrooms). Kitchen was very well stocked for any cooking. Bedrooms are separated by the living area for privacy. The back deck is as long as the house, and of course the views are good anytime of the day. Located at the 3MP, we did have to do a little driving to get to things that we wanted to do. But the area is quiet. I will probably stay here again if or when we return to OBX.

This house had the perfect layout and was so comfortable! We absolutely loved the house. Unfortunately, it is right next to a public beach access and we had a group camp out in front of the deck for the entire week - left two tents and four umbrellas. We had to walk down the beach to put chairs out or sit under the deck and the umbrella on the deck broke and was never replaced during our stay. I loved looking at the photos of the house over the years and all the conveniences.

We had friends from Redondo Beach Ca with us who loved it as much as we did. The plus is being right on the ocean front. We were delighted to see the deck had been improved from the picture in the listing. The kitchen is well stocked. I would not put more than 8 people in it.

It is almost like you are staying in the ocean rather than on it. High tide came up under our deck one day.
The windows and view were spectaular. Deck program is top notch.
Very clean and awesome kitchen. In the 4 mile stretch from pier to pier, this was the best house.
Also, within 2 miles either direction were great restaurants and activities.
We loved it so much we are coming back next year! -

Pearl is a 10 w/ beautiful sea/surf/sand/sunrises/ huge deck an has all the amenities an comforts of home . You will feel like it is your home. We have been there 5 times an love it more each time - great location and a clean house which always is well kept!!!

Our family loved being right on the beach! We had the feeling of being "on" the ocean not beside it. The deck is wonderful, we enjoyed morning coffee and dinners plus being able to relax and be close to the children playing
on the beach and in the surf. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and the bar and stools were perfect. Oh yes, keyless entry is super! Sounds like we plan to come back next year..can't wait!! -

The house was everything and more than as described and shown in the photos. It was very clean and well maintained. The house was spotless and the views were breathtaking. The deck is very large with numerous chairs and loungers and seat cushions were provided. The picnic table was more than a bit unstable but was managable. The location of the house was great and it was very easy to find our way around to restaurants and shops. The keyless entry was very convenient. My only negative comment is the spiral staircase in front; it is tricky going down; easier going up.

The Pearl proved to be a clean and inviting environment for our family to gather and enjoy each other as well as the beach. I treasured the time that I spent in the early morning on the awesome deck watching the sun come up over the ocean with a cup of coffee. Wonderful memories were made!

Pearl has it all.well kept and maintained...beautiful sunrises, great view in any direction, wildlife, falling asleep with the sound of the waves, clean house, convenient, lots of decking to either do the "sun" or "shade", thing - whatever your preference, convenient to shopping/restaurants, piers, and the beach a nice wide area to chill out in and play..- you can almost fall out of bed onto the beach.lol!!..love it- roomy three bedrooms.fully equip kitch...just wish the third bedroom had full size beds for adults...couldn't ask for much more... I give it a 10!!

We loved The Pearl. Fantastic location, fantastic house, fantastic owner, and fantastic rental agency. Our week at The Pearl was cut short due to Hurricane Irene, but still worth the trip. We have traveled to OBX for many years, and this was our first "upgrade" to a beachfront home, and we could not have been more pleased. Even the minor annoyance of a group from 2 streets away pitching their tents in front of "our" deck for the entire week, was not enough to sway my love of The Pearl and it's location. The house was very homey, very comfortable, and you couldn't ask for anything more. We even had a phone call from the owner of the home checking on our satisfaction. Class act from start to finish.

Only complaints I want to share are the that the ice maker did not work and the picnic table on deck needs to be removed or repaired ~ both benches are about to fall off and I almost fell when trying to sit there ~ before I realized they were not safe.
Otherwise, this cottage is a great location and well equipped with everything our family needed to make a terrific vacation!! Thank you!!!
With my sister renting the Sea Hawk right next door this made for a perfect location for me! I loved being able to walk next door to see her!!!

We have been staying at The Pearl since 1998. It is a wonderful house. Great view of the ocean. They keep improving it this year the old decking was removed and they installed white railing with glass panels so the ocean was always on view. The whole house is wonderful

Our stay at the Pearl was great, the house was clean when we arrived, beds were comfortable and overall the house was very comfortable. Porch was excellent and it was a great location. The only two items that I would recommend is that the place should be treated for ants. Each day we would experience ants crawling on the dining room table, in the bathroom and on the kitchen counter. Although they were the tiny little ones we ended up eating at the bar to avoid their visits while eating. I would stay there again despite this but a simple treatment would get rid of them. The other item is the grill. This should be replaced. It was rusted, heavy and not very easy to use. Used it once and never used it again. I loved the house and would stay there again.

Having recently retired from teaching, my husband and I were looking forward to our first Fall vacation in many years. We had always dreamed of staying at a cottage on the ocean, and The Pearl was everything we had hoped for. From talking to people who frequent the area, mid September is one of the best times to enjoy the Outer Banks without the traffic and crowds. Several people mentioned that since The Pearl is next to a public beach access, the beach can be very crowded during the summer. When we were there in mid September, we practically had the beach to ourselves.
The cottage was clean and nicely furnished, although some of the pots and pans needed to be replaced as the nonstick surfaces were well worn and scratched. The location in Kitty Hawk was perfect for shopping as well as being conveniently located to visit other parts of the Outer Banks. Watching the sunrise from the deck was absolutely amazing.
When we first arrived, the beach was closed to swimming because of high surf and rip tides from Hurricane Earl, which was near Bermuda. When the beach was opened for swimming, the surf was still rather rough, and I would not have had young children go in the water. Overall, our experience at The Pearl was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend it, especially in September when the weather and water are still warm. This was my families first trip the OBX as a group and we could have been happier. The location of the house was great with spectacular views of the ocean from almost every window. The only complaint was that it was right next to public beach access which put alot of people in front of the house. Other then that it was an excellent vacation. Thank you

This was our first visit to the Outerbanks and we had a fabulous time. The Pearl was a clean and comfortable home that met all our needs. The deck, access to the beach and being oceanfront closed the deal. Will definitely be back for another visit!!

We thought this year was x-tra special, because:
There was a new stairway added. New livingroom couches.
And a special little surprise, 2-rolls of toilet tissue, 2-little bars of soap, roll of paper
towels,a dishwasher " thingy" and a Great insulated shopping bag.
Thank You,very nice touch.
This is the third time we have rented "The Pearl" and each time for two weeks. It is
the Perfect size for us.
The location is great, it's close to Everything. Grocery stores, restaurants, places to
shop and visit.
The very best thing is it is right ON the Beautiful Atlantic Ocean :)
The thing we liked least is that they always,always change the code to get in when
we start the second week. That is very inconvenient . Especially when you leave in
the morning,do a little shopping and you can't get in and you just bought perishables.
Not A Good Thing!
But We Do Love Our Time There.

What a quaint and lovely beach house! It was perfect for us to have everything convenient on 1 floor. But what made this house so terrific was the location- right on the beach. We watched the sunrise almost every day. The house was tastefully furnished, clean, and enjoyed the convenience of having linens and towels included with the house. Given the location in Kitty Hawk and situated right on the ocean, this is the type of beach house we would definitely consider renting again.

Dear Seaside Vacations,
I am writing to pass on our evaluation of The Pearl 0511 Kitty Hawk vacation home.
Initially, and all said and done, it was a nice place to stay. There were, however, many things about the home that we took notice of and found either imperfect or dangerous.
Enclosed is the Evaluation Form that you provided for us to fill out after our week?s stay. I have elaborated on several items below:
1. First of all, as you know or should know, we had no air conditioning in the bunk bedroom. We dutifully reported the problem the next day (Sunday, 8/9) and then kept calling daily as the week went on. Finally, after our son and daughter-in-law and their two small children left due to the fact that we had no air conditioning in that room, the ac was fixed (which was a major job) on Wednesday, 8/12. This was a major disruption to our week?s vacation and not to mention, a huge disappointment.
2. The bunk bed was moved away from the wall so that the vent could be adequately exposed to provide better ventilation and circulation of the ac.
3. The DVD player in the living room did not work well at all. It would either say the DVD within was ?bad? or the DVD player would just freeze up.
4. The drain in the bathroom next to the bunk room did not drain well. This was also dutifully noted the next day with the ac concerns. We did made a make-ship drain opener so we could use the shower.
5. The deck light switch is not working properly. One had to jiggle it to get it to work.
6. The screws for the winterizing panels are exposed at the bottom of the sliding glass doors. My husband, while stepping out onto the deck, caught his heel on one of the screws and tore a chunk of flesh off from his heel. This is a very dangerous and unsafe situation, not to mention a painful one!!!
The views from The Pearl are breath-taking and did help to make up for all the inconveniences we found in the house. However, we were still cheated of several great days with our family due to the ac, not to mention the frustration factor with the lack of ac on that side of the house. Many have said to me once hearing of the situation, that we should receive some type of compensation for this inconvenience.

The house itself was very nice. However we did have issues with the ceiling
fans in the King Master Suite and in the Queen Bedroom. The King
bedroom fan was so loose that I felt it was gonna fall out the ceiling, and
the noise it made. There was no speed you could put it on that it didn't
make such a noise. I wore ear plugs and even that didn't block it out. The
Queen Bedroom, the fan wasn't loose, but it too made bad noises. You see I
left the King bedroom hoping that the Queen bedroom would be better, but
it wasn't. So I finally drove to the nearby CVS and purchased a table fan so
that we could have some air circulating. Not until we purchased a table fan
(which was Wed) did we finally have a good nights sleep. Like I said the
house over all was very nice. We liked the layout and the location was
great. I hope that WHEN I decide to re-rent this house again that I will find
that the fans are fixed or replaced. If they are the same when I arrive again,
I will be calling the rental number and having something done. I will not
spend another week with noise like that when I try to sleep. You couldn't
even hear the ocean hitting the shore over the noise the fans made. I do
appreciate your sending this survey, that way I know that my opinion makes
a difference and matter.

We have stayed here for 11 years, this is a great house! the deck is great they have updated the appliances and just put in a great new floor in the kitchen and bathroom. It is a very easy house to live in and the ocean views are outstanding.
