Saltaire #12 is a 3-bedroom cottage with: master bedroom and master bath (king bed), 2 twin beds in each of the remaining 2 bedrooms, a 2nd bath, and a large living room/dining room/kitchen area with a screened-in porch. Both baths have tub/shower units. Unit #12 was the original owner's home while at The Saltaire. The maximum occupancy for this unit is 6. The maximum occupancy for this unit cannot be exceeded in an overnight stay.

The three bedrooms and large living room were just right for our 5 person stay. Just a few steps to gain entry made it easy for my Mother to come in and out. Access to the beach was just across the street and we could see the waves from our front window. Maintenance personnel arrived within 1/2 hour for the one minor issue we had. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

I am not a big review person but the Saltaire 12 really is a good find. We had 2 couples, 2 infants and a toddler stay for a 3 day weekend. The place is dated but clean. The screened in porch is very big, the kitchen had all we needed to cook, the pool is very nice and the place is very spacious. We would definitely stay again. If you want an upscale place to stay this is not the place but if you want a good time, low price, lots of space and clean...head to the Saltaire 12!

this was our first trip to the Outer Banks and staying at Saltair was so enjoyable. It was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay so wonderful. Close to the beach, pool and many amenities. I can't wait to return next year to spend another relaxing vacation at Saltair!

We have been staying at the saltaire #12 for quite a few years and have been staying at the saltaire for over thirty years. This year the room #12 was fine - but there were some issues. For the past number of years we have been telling management that the bathroom sink leaks and we need to keep a wash cloth or towel there for the entire week to sop up the water. Also in this bathroom - the shower curtain liner was moldy along with the curtain in the window of the shower...We put our own clean liner on the shower curtain rod and then cut up another shower curtain liner we got at the dollar store and clipped that onto the window curtain. We certainly didn't want to take a shower and have moldy curtains touching us. Another question we had - why is there different cleaning people for the two houses that there is for the 8 other units??
Also, when I returned home and got onto to my pc - I found an email sent 7/22/2011 indicating that on Saturday we could have gone up to ChiliPeppers Resturant and had discounted food / drinks and that there would be games / prizes... Unfortunately, my group left Pittsburgh on Thursday 7/21 and stayed over in Virginia for two days on the way down - so we never knew about this...it would have been nice if this information was sent at least a week ahead of time so we could have taken advantage of this.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 08/21/2011

While the buildings were older, they were clean and provided excellent access to the beach. Check in was painless. The family oriented rental restriction ensured noise and partying were kept to a minimum. In general, the location was quiet. The pool was clean (with an excellent beach so close it wasn't used).

The airconditioner never did cool down. I called 2 x without a solution. I called after hours as we were not inthe house during the day time hours. The oven thermostat is out of wack we baked fish sticks at 300degrees instead of the recommended temp after buring the bottom of the pizza we baked. Also the electric plugs did not all have currrent to them and the lamp in the living room had a short.

cottage was nice but there was a couple of thing that need to be look at.the silverware drawer ,toaster,and the large bunner on the stove were broken. and the oven temp. was off. but evere thing was verry nice and i would come back agian.

Visit was great! Couch needs a little more padding. Tv just a bit bigger. No directions on fireplace, cable connection in bedroom was loose, needs crimped. Other than that everything went great.

I would recommend my family and friends to stay at Satltaire Cottages. I will admit that when I pulled into the parking lot I was a little hesistant - but the cottages were really clean, nice places to stay. Each of the 3 bedrooms were large rooms with plenty of room - especially the room with the King Size bed in it - it was huge had a television and your own bathroom - :)!!! The only downsides to the cottages were the water pressure for taking a shower - not very good. Overall I would stay here again!!

The cottage was nice and cozy, and we enjoyed our stay very much. There are only two concerns I had....(1) the oven burnt my pizza, not sure if this is user error or not; and (2) the bath water is not very warm, even when using only hot water. The kids said the shower outside was very hot and they enjoyed it after the beach. We would definately stay here again.

We were the only ones staying there at the time. The house was clean and well furnished. The hot water heater gave out and had to be replaced while we were there. The maintance dept. responded very quickly, and had it fixed in a reasonable amount of time. overall we had a great time.

I was very pleased with Seaside Vacation staff.
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. They walked
me through the entire process. My daughter got
married the weekend of Oct 17th and a house was
perfect for the few girls in the wedding and
myself. We arrived Friday and it was cold. We were
afraid to turn on the heat because we noticed black
mold on almost all the heating vents in the house.
So we had no heat all weekend. I cleaned the
bathroom 2 times and still was getting brown on my
paper towel. Yuck!And the sign outside of the
Sailtaire read "Clean and Bright"..yeah right! It
looked like the home could have used a GOOD
cleaning from top to bottom. And to top it all
off...we ran out of hot water at 3:00pm Saturday.
Two of our guests did NOT get to take a shower.
The wedding started at 4:00. We got home late from
the wedding and went right to bed. When I got up
at 7:30am. I tried to take a shower....and still
NO hot water. I had to come home to NJ to take a
shower....YUCK! I am very disappointed in the home
we stayed at. However, I cannot say enough about
how WONDERFUL every staff member was at Seaside
Vacations that I dealt with.

We have stayed at Saltair for 27 years now it truly is our home away from home. If you enjoy a truly family type hanging out together vacation then this is the one for you. You may want to bring extra cooking utensils and barbque equipment.
