Saltaire #5 is a downstairs 2-bedroom apartment with a total of: 4 double beds, 2 baths (showers only), living room/kitchen and a screened-in porch. The maximum occupancy for this unit is 8 persons. The maximum occupancy for this unit cannot be exceeded in an overnight stay.

The Saltaire Cottage Court is conveniently located at milepost 2 ½ in Kitty Hawk, on the Beach Road (NC12) on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. Different from Outer Banks hotels, we offer Outer Banks cottages and apartments for the same rate as many hotel rooms, with... the privacy of being in a home-like atmosphere.

The Saltaire has its own direct beach access for your own special getaway. We have a spacious outdoor pool which has an elevated lounging deck for your sunning pleasure. Enjoy an ocean view while relaxing on the sun deck with the Atlantic breezes cooling your toes. A BBQ pit is situated at the foot of the pool for those wanting to cook out, and picnic tables are located nearby so you can take advantage of our Carolina blue skies!

Our screened-in porches are one of our most enjoyed features for our many returning guests! They're perfect for kicking back in the summer evenings, and enjoying the cool Atlantic breezes. Or in the fall/winter, after a day of fishing or shell gathering, it's great to relax with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a great Outer Banks sunset.

All apartments/cottages have: cable TV with VCRs, heat/air-conditioning, telephones, full kitchens, and private screened-porches. All of our kitchens contain: stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, toaster, cookware, dinnerware, and silverware. We also have coin operated washers/dryers on site for your convenience.

  We were a little shocked at first when we saw the place. It wasn't much to look at from outside. We were pleasantly surprised once we got inside. It was very clean even though it was simply furnished. We absolutely loved the screened in porch and spent a lot of time hanging outside on it. There's a great pub type restaurant next door with great food. There's also a convenience store real close that carries everything. It's a short walk to the beach and the pool was great. You could hear the people upstairs walking around which was annoying. Besides that we loved it and have already rebooked it for next year.

  This was the 5th time we vacationed at Saltaire Cottages and we enjoyed our stay, as always. I can't imagine any place more family oriented or comfortable than Saltaire. The cottages are clean, comfortable, quiet, and close to everything we wanted or needed. It would have been nice to have a manager on site for a few hours each day to handle any concerns... My call to the mgmt. service was unresponsive, and the kitchen utensils need to be better stocked, but we're already planning our next visit!

  Great location and pool availablity make up for lack of most up-to-date amenities. Poor kitchen supplies and spotty availability on wi-fi. Prior renter had smoked in unit, which was non-smoking. 2 bed spreads and pillows replaced (after complaining) but smoke smell still present. Both showers had mildew on shower bottoms and one had mildew on shower curtain. We bought cleaner and fixed both but should have been caught before we got there. Porch area not well cleaned, but tolerable.

  We loved the Saltaire. It's a little old (looks to be late 1950s) but we loved the character that goes with that. Beds were very comfortable and furniture/appliances were in great shape. Rooms had window A/C units rather than central air but that wasn't an issue for us, just thought you might want to know. The only complaint I have about the entire stay was that there was confusion in the rental process. Several items in our contract seemed worth asking about (deposit waiver fee, parking passes, etc.) and when I asked about them, the Seaside Vacations people said they didn't apply to our rental. Just seems not as professional as it should be because how was I then to know what in our contract applied and what didn't? Also, we were instructed that our check-in time was 6:00pm. One would assume that means that's the earliest you can check in (at least that's what we assumed)but when we got there at 6, we found the office had closed at 5! They very nicely left the keys, etc. in a box for us but probably could have communicated to us a little better what the check-in time really meant. We would loved to have arrived earlier and apparently we could have, but thought we had to wait until 6 from what the letter said. Otherwise, though the place and the staff were all great.

  Great family getaway

  The unit was very home-like and worked well for the 3 of us. Beds were very comfortable and most of our needs were provided for. The unit was short on kitchen supplies (such as glasses) and needs to be replenished before more than 3 people rent the unit. Everything was very clean and in working order. Seemed like a great place to hold a small family reunion. We only had one person staying in the unit above us. I would request an upper unit if we stayed again as the squeaky floors above could get annoying. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay.

  This place is great!!!! It is right across the road from the beach; there is a restaurant, grocery and bar all within 3 minutes walking. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating. Would definitely stay here again.
