A wonderful, far, far away experience...

Left on 05/13/2013 for a stay in May 2013

This beautiful fisherman house, by the sea, is a perfect place if you are searching for peace and tranquility.
Based in the authentic fisherman village of Milos Island, the house is nicely decorated and well furnished. The comfort is good for a fisherman house, where living with sand is part of the experience.
We have really enjoyed : living by the water, a few drinks looking at the sunset, a small tour with the boat, just walking through Klima, the cats of Klima, the happiness and smily attitude of Milos habitants, the peace and tranquility of the island in May
Ideal for couple and romantic holiday

Rustic simplicity in a beautiful, remote, location

Left on 07/14/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This traditional fisherman's house is a lovely place to stay. It is as beautiful as in the pictures. The beach directly outside the front door has fine clean sand and was one of our favorite places to swim in the Cyclades (the locals swim everyday).

Be warned: it is a remote spot - you know you are in an out of the way location when there is no local taverna! You can't drink the water from the tap, and you need a hire car to access this property, plus it is a walk along the beach to get to the front door. On the plus side the house comes complete with a small rowboat which we used a couple of times (my young kids loved it). I would also suggest that cat/nature lovers will enjoy this property more than others: there are several cats that regard the property as their own. We loved that.

You need to be prepared for the rustic nature of the property: it is still a traditional fisherman's house, and we found after a few days that everything was sandy/seaweedy. Which was fine by us. If you are tripping around the Cyclades you just need to follow it with an apartment with a washing machine.

The property owners/managers Eleni and her husband are very easy to deal with. Eleni's husband runs the SandMuseum in nearby Plaka and that is definitely worth a visit.

I would love to go back to this property and would recommend to anyone (with one obvious exception being families with children that cannot swim).

      Unforgettable place in unreal location

Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Our family, with three teenage daughters, stayed here for 3 nights. The photos don't do it justice, and yes it really is one of those iconic houses on the water in Klima. The owners are helpful without being invasive - and they also have two incredible apartments in central Plaka. Plaka is nearby, Trypiti even closer. These were our two favorite villages. But back to the house - it is two floors, with a balcony and incredible view out one bedroom. Our daughters took the top floor and we had the double bed on the first floor which worked out perfectly. The only caveat I would say is that this would be a tough stay for elderly, since you climb a ladder to get upstairs and that is where the kitchen is! There is a sink and coffee set up on the first floor, though.
This is a one-of-a-kind place that exceeded our expectations on our favorite island. I can't wait to get back there!

Also, it can sleep even seven, there is a couch/bed in the living area, two double beds and a room with two singles. Beautifully furnished, and a boat you can use to easily venture out any time. Sunsets are not to be missed!
