Right over the water on the award winning Thesen Island marina in Knysna, Garden Route, South Africa. Four star relaxed beach feel with modern fittings. Can be rented as three separate on-suite units or as one single holiday house for a family up to 6 people. Also ideal as a honeymoon retreat. Very romantic destination. Spa baths, hot art fireplaces and lots of other special features. Close to tourist attractions and very safe and convenient. Has its own private jetty with canoes for each unit.

Gorgeous well-maintained (really clean) place with all that you could want and more. Beautiful views of the water. Safe location with a guarded gate. The only thing I would change is the windows in the upstairs rooms are covered with very shear drapes which let the gorgeous sun shine in and in and in. So, if you still have wicked jet-lag (like we did) you will be forced to rise early in the morning. But, the upside is that it gave us lots of time to explore the heads, the beaches, use the kayaks and eat at Ile De Pain for breakfast (yummy!) Also, WiFi was spotty. We were travelling as a couple with one other well-travelled couple. We had one of the upstairs studios and the whole downstairs.

We stayed at the house with our grown up kids. The house is on an island in the lagoon. The view is great. We rowed the two kayaks, which were tied under the house around the lagoon, which was a lot of fun. The house itself is amazing. Its whole decor is about te sea, and it is beautifully furnished. It is fully equipped, with a lot of attention to every small detail. Once we entered, we didn't want to leave.

Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at this lovely place which is located on the water at Thesens Island Knysna.Everything was just perfect.The luxury self catering accomodation was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen,a jacuzzi spa in the bathrooms,a balcony overlooking the waterway to relax on and a pontoon to access the kayaks/canoes included with the unit.The attention to detail in the decor and furnishings is remarkable. Maid service was included.Will definately stay at this place again on our next trip to Knysna

Lazy Island is a great set-up, esp if you have enough people to fill the whole house. we really liked how everyone could have their own "space"(the upstairs bedrooms are actually mini flatets) but yet the downstairs common area was still comfortable to accommodate the entire group when we wanted to hang out together. Has it's own private beach (!) and being on the right on the water was so relaxing. Hosts are also wonderful. Highly recommended.

On arival a beautifully furnished clean, fresh unit welcomed us. We stayed in the "Beach" unit which boasts a on-suite bedroom, guest toilet, fully equiped open plan kitchen and lounge with fireplace and doors opening on a deck.
On the deck we had lovely braai's overlooking the canal flowing from the Knysna lagoon. The water is clean and one can watch the fish swimming by.
We also had the use of a canoe to try our rowing skills, which turned out to be great fun.
On request the unit was cleaned daily and we could just relax and have fun. -

On arrival we received a friendly greeting form the owners, Corlia and Mark.
From the front door we followed a path of rose petals and in the bedroom champaigne and chocolate awaited us.
We had an en-suit bathroom with jacuzzi bath and open shower, with a rustic beach feel. It has a fully equiped open plan kitchen. The living room, comprises of a dining room table that can seat 6 and a very comfortable living area that walks out onto a lovely deck that overlooks the water, as you walk off the deck you step onto natural beach sand for the real effect.
Should you be feeling adventures, you can take the canoes out onto the water and paddle to the close by waterfront.
The venue was set up for the arrival of royalty!
Driftwood is located very close to all the garden route sites and beaches, and should you feel like taking a drive to Plett you will have no trouble getting to the main roades and highways.
We really had a wonderful experience and will return when ever we can.
We had a lovely stay and will definately be going back to Lazy Island for a holiday.
