This is the second time staying and reviewing for Escape Cabins in Koh Lanta. My first experience with Escape cabins completely surpassed any expectations I had for any type of accommodations while traveling. Recommended by a trusted friend, I quickly learned that small and hospitable businesses such as Escape cabins made my stay a memorable one, and made me want to return in the future.
Arranging my second stay at Escape, was even more easier than the first time as I referenced my name and when I stayed there last, Yuko immediately remembered me, which made it very easy to make arrangements. Yuko arranged something very quickly for me and it turned out to be the unit (cottage) I wanted to stay during my first visit. The hospitality and ease of organizing/booking was second nature to Yuko making it a very smooth transition so I could quickly begin to enjoy my stay.
The cottage unit is the largest of the 9 units and is suitable for families with children or with a group of friends. Everything that you could want from home had already been considered in the design and facilities available for the unit. A full kitchen a large bathroom and large living (indoor.outdoor) space is available. It simply was everything you wanted and needed in a place when traveling especially if you want to stay for a little while. It's much harder to travel around especially with a family and Escape offers an excellent tranquil space to relax and set up as home base while traveling or vacationing. The biggest advantage I found from the cottage is that it was a space large enough for more than 2 people, and that it was a space that you could quite easily be more than happy to relax with all the amenities from home and not feel like you need to be doing something. The feeling of staying in the cottage is far from being "stuck" in a hotel room with nothing to do and nothing to eat.

this is the 2nd time we have stayed at escape cabins. It is absolutley fabulous. So peaceful yet the beach and restaurants are onlly 5 minutes walk away. There is only 7 cabins surrounding a beautiful pool. Yuko the owner is so helpful, she can arrange almost anything you want to do or just give you honest advice. We stay in the cozy cabin which is one bedroom and love it but there are larger cabins aswell. Iwould never stay anywhere else its just so relaxed and informal. We are just looking now to book our next trip. Its just a gem of a place and so is Yuko.

We stayed at Cottage, one of the villas at Escape Cabins. The service from owner Yuko was excellent - we were greeted on arrival, she immediately helped us plan our activities for the next few days, making recommendations based on the time and budget we had in mind. The place itself was very quiet - it's a very short walk in from the road, which did wonders at creating a peaceful environment - so no traffic sounds, just the wind blowing through the trees. Very sleep-inducing. :)
The villa was in excellent condition, very clean - it does get a bit warm in the day, but that's only because the sun really shines in Koh Lanta like every day is its last; all we needed to do was pop the aircon on for an hour or so before we intended to head to bed and the house got nice and cool. Standing fans were also thoughtfully provided. Indoor areas were spacious, excellent for just lounging about and watching TV; husband was of course very happy with the cable services (meaning football), I enjoyed the mini kitchen, which was small but well laid out with all we needed - gas stove, fridge, washing up area; perfect for cooking meals for a small family, or for simply slicing up fruits from the market.Pool was just a few metres away, and lounge chairs were provided for dripping off and just enjoying the mountain scenery.
Breakfast was provided via vouchers at a great restaurant just a couple of minutes' walk from the cabins; Kritsana was easily one of the better restaurants we had tried in Koh Lanta. Good Thai food, not too expensive, and clean with an open kitchen concept I really liked.
Also a 5-10 min walk to the beach - Long Beach, which was fantastically beautiful, white sand, rubbish free, lots of families around but not too overcrowded. Shallow waters great for swimming. All in all, it was a great spot to completely unwind; Yuko took care of things so all we needed to do was let the very laid back vibe of Koh Lanta seep in. -

It was very large and the high ceiling really made the place so spacious and we actually spent a lot of time indoors and then popped out to the pool or our patio.
We had a large kitchen and a storage room and a dining room.
We would have loved to stay longer but our visa expired. If we end up back in Koh Lanta another time we will certainly consider seriously staying at Escape.

This place is perfect. Spacious, cool in every sense of the word. I/we (father, daughter and myself) simply can't fault the cottage. The living area has ample room with tv/dvd and audio tech. The kitching/dinner has everything you require.
Everything is very tasteful but unpretencious.
Go...will have no regrets.
Yuko is charming, helpful and delightful! -

...and expects his Thai lodging to be more than a bungalow with a thin mattress and fan, but yearns for interactions more genuine than those to be had at a luxury hotel. Escape Cabins was an ideal blend between the at-home feel of bungalow lodging and the higher standards and amenities one finds in larger hotels. The cottage we stayed at was not only very clean and well-kept, but designed in a tasteful asian style. The cottage was perfect for our family since there was a loft where our two boys could sleep, and a kitchen and dining area that freed us from having to eat out all the time. When tired, our boys watched movies and cartoons on the many cable channels of the television. The pool was just an a good size for playing and adequate size for exercise, but an ideal place for cooling off, playing, and socializing with the other guests. The grounds were charming and well maintained. But most importantly, the owner and staff looked after our needs with a sincerity that you do not find with the staff in crisp uniforms of luxury hotels. And if it is luxury that you want, then Escape Cabins may not be the place for you. Though clean, the bathroom is awkwardly designed so that water from the shower wets the toilet, and though the staff tries, it is hard to keep inhabitants of the surrounding lush greenery out. If you leave food on the floor, you will invite a steady stream of minuscule ants. But this did not bother us so much because everything else we wanted from our experience in Thailand we found at Escape Cabins--friendly people, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxing environment.

This was our second visit to Escape Cabins and once again everything was perfect. The cottage is located in a beautiful and lush, green tropical garden which is very serene and peaceful. With a good sized swimming pool in the centre.
We opted for the Cottage this time which was wonderful, it had everything we needed and more, a huge living area, kitchen and dining area, storage area, good sized bathroom, mezanine (where our daughter slept and loved it!), a great deck poolside, your own PC and, best of all the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, in Thailand! All rooms are cleaned daily and the beds changed regularly, it's so lovely to come home after a day out and everything is neat and tidy again.
To her credit, the host and owner Yuko has created a little piece of heaven here and nothing is too much trouble for her. I asked one morning if she may have a spare toaster we could use for breakfast and by lunch time Yuko had bought and delivered a new toaster! She organised a motorbike at a really good rate and a snorkelling trip to Koh Rok cheaper than we were quoted elsewhere - incidentally it's a great trip - our laundry was returned the same day, everything was effortless. She chatted away happily for hours with our daughter who kept saying "I want to go and sit with Yuko".
We love the location of Escape Cabins and actually like being off the beach, it's so much quiter than the beach resorts. Best of all for us is the food available really close by, there's a great selection of really good and authentic thai restaurants which are so cheap, but even better there's a great selection of street food right on your doorstep including, papaya salad and barbeque chicken, noodle soup and shrimp fritters Yummmy!
We have nothing but praise for Yuko and Escape Cabins and having just returned to the UK I'm ready to book again for next year.

This superb accommodation lived up to everything written about it and more. The owner Yuko is an excellent host where every request was attended to within minutes. The accommodation itself was perfect for a young family and the pool much used. Cleaning was inclusive and laundry services cheap. Although there were self catering facilities, we only used this for breakfast given the number of good and cheap restaurants within walking distance.
The beach was only a five minuted walk and clearly the best strip on Long Beach. Saladan was only a ten minute tuk tuk ride away. Yuko is able to book any trip you wish to take and at the best prices going. All bookings we made lived up to expectations. we only wished we stayed longer than 11 nights. Highly recommended. -

This facility provided a thoroughly relaxing & quiet atmosphere. Yuko, the owner operates the resort with an assured proficiency. The staff were all friendly & provided an excellent service.
Each of the units are situated in such a way that maximum privacy is provided to all guests. The pool though not of Olympic proportions is great for cooling off & relaxing. -

We stayed at Yuko's place for 3 months after having found it over internet. And YES you get what you see! The Cottage is very comfortable, with great service for the perfect host Yuko, and plenty of space. The kitchen is well equipped, even though we ended up just making breakfast there. Just across the street you find Krua Kritsana - so there is no meaning in cooking... Well Yuko, Dreamy Spa, cheap laundry and cleaning service (cleaning included), yoga with Mona and Krua Kritsana make your life very nice - a true holiday. At Escape Cabins you see the nice pool, and the beatuiful forrest/jungle, and also a piece of normal Thai life not far away. Everything is close, but also far away if you want some peace. Walking down to the beach, just crossing the road, and you enter what we realized is the best part of Long Beach. And you are not too far away from Relax Bay, which we enjoyed (yoga, restaurant and Shiva's eyes)! Our Thaimout at Escape Cabins was just what we were looking for!
