Description

White Azure Villa

is set in the jungle close to Than Sadet National Park.

The villa comes with a full-time housekeeper/villa manager who will clean the villa daily and is available for general tourist information and taxi/tour service. There is also a cook, with a in villa menu of Thai food and some Western options available that can be prepared, charged at local prices.

The staff live in a separate house 50 Meters away and can help arrange tours, taxis, in villa Thai massage

White Azure is a contemporary eco friendly villa located in the Gulf of Thailand on the east coast of the island of Koh Phangan 10 minutes by speedboat to the famous full moon party.

The 4 bedroom villa is set on hillside land within the lush jungle of Than Sadet overlooking the sea and bay, 300M swim or 10 minutes walk from Than Sadet's 1st sandy beach and 500M to secluded beach of Tong Reng and the National Park.

The villa is set within 2200 M of landscaped private gardens with steps leading down 20 M from the villa to the rocks and private sandy beach area

There is a steep semi sealed access road to the back of the villa parking area and staff house reception area. Steps lead down to the villa.

What you neglected to mention in your review was that you arrived in the middle of the worst monsoon the south Thailand has experienced for 50 years with widespread flooding, power outages, water and landlines down and serious damage to the infrastructure of the island.This event was covered on local and international news networks at the time and the island was officially declared a disaster zone, so you knew what you were coming to. Conditions were so bad your plane was unable to land and was in fact sent back to Bangkok. This should have given you some indication. The next day you caught another plane to Samui which successfully landed, you then had a very rough sea crossing over to Koh Phangan where you were met at the port by our staff and present conditions were further explained to you. At that time we were unable to even get you to the villa because of landslides across the island. WE DID OFFER YOU CANCELLATION but your were determined to stay since you had booked the villa for 3 weeks and believed conditions would improve which they did but just not in the timescale you expected! For the first 4 nights we had to put you up in a 5 star hotel in town at our expense, before the landslide on the approach road into Than Sadet could be cleared enough to let some vehicles through.Yes the conditions at the villa at the time were not as usual but we did try to accommodate you the best that we could being in the middle of a disaster zone. Sometimes problems can arise and we will always try to resolve them as quickly as feasibly possible which is why we have 3 full time onsite service staff to provide, housekeeping, cooking , taxi and maintenance, all of whom were present and who's services were used during your 1 night stay. Incidentally I did receive complaints from my staff about your manner and attitude. The housekeeper reads and writes near perfect English so find it hard to believe your were experiencing language problems you being Australian. On a personal note, I would never just say " this is Thailand", when questioned regarding issues and frankly find it insulting that you should suggest otherwise. Regarding this catalogue of problems you have mentioned in your revue, without meaning to be dismissive, mostly just sour grapes, as made previously to me in your justification to receive a full booking refund after checkout. I note no complaint has or was made to Trip Advisor at the time or since your booking back in July. During our conversation via the housekeepers mobile on the Messenger app upon your check in, you complained that there was no Wifi even though I was speaking to you on the villa wifi which you were uninterested in acknowledging. The photos advertised and shown of the villa on Trip Advisor are as they seem and have not been altered in any way. Trip Advisor would not allow false representation on a what has now been a successful 7 year listing with them as you can see on other reviews on Trip Advisor and elsewhere. Response from the owner Hello and thank you for your comment. However I feel I must address some of your points. Yes the villa is located on a hill hence the as you say, "breathtaking views". Yes there are steps on this hill which do require people in reasonable physical condition to navigate hence we make the point clearly on our website http://www.phanganazure.com/facilities.html "The villa is located off an unsealed road on hillside land, with steps leading down to it and therefore has no wheel chair access and is generally unsuitable for people with mobility difficulties." I am sorry if this statement was not clear enough for you. The neighbouring beach is 300M away but do understand that this could be too much for some people since there are steps and a incline along the way which is why we offer a free transfer service down to the beach which you fully utilised during your stay. This free service is particularly popular with families with young children and for some of our older guests and has been already stated in past reviews. Not once did anyone from your group even attempt to walk this 300M. We drove you down to the beach and picked you up again during your short stay here so am unsure why you state it was 'not easily reached." You are correct in stating that only 2 of the bedrooms have AC but incorrect in stating that the AC can not be used during "hot nights." Unfortunately the AC is not automatic and does require the manual push of a button to operate. Nothing was mentioned about this during your 3 night stay otherwise our staff would have been glad to have been of assistance. You stated the thing you liked least about the villa was "Access to unit without any baggage assistance offered" When you arrived on KP I picked you up personally and loaded your bags onto the car. I also transported you all to the villa. I did not feel the need to offer further assistance with your bags since on arrival I picked up the nearest 2 bags and carried them down myself along with the rest of your group who followed with their bags. The housekeeper also took you by the arm and helped you walk down the steps.I am sorry if you feel this was of no assistance! When you checked out I brought in 3 builders in the early morning to carry all your groups bags up for you which I had to pay for since you were unwilling to tip them for this service. With this in mind for you to state no assistance was offered is deeply upsetting and do not understand why you would say this since we went above and beyond to provide this service during your stay, bearing in mind we are not a hotel just a private rental house that does not come with a staff of porters. I understand that much as we try we can not please everybody all the time and hope your next place of stay was more to your convenience Regards Dominic
