Bang Po Beach, where our resort the Lotus Terraces is located, is a quieter area on the northern shore of Koh Samui. Bang Por beach offers the perfect setting for those seeking a more sedate holiday away from the hustle and bustle but at the same time retaining its tropical magic.
There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance from the villa which serves Thai and western food. For more variety, Fishermen's Village, popular with many for its variety of good restaurants and shopping is 15 minutes drive away Chaweng is 40 minutes drive away.

We loved the exotic, luxurious feel of the Villa.and its superb location.Beautiful asian design .Right on the beach , private pool so cool and delicious . Great friendly staff and the cooking when required was flawless. We felt being in heaven having our breakfast in front of the ocean .We loved most the natural open lifestyle this villa offers.
The amenities were awesome..fluffy towels in bathroom ,shower gel and lotion .. so many little thoughtful touches everywhere.. Oh! i was going to forget the cappuccino machine ..mmm..
The small spa was very tasteful and inviting with fabulous the treatments
Easy to go out and shop and explore .We enjoyed Bophut a lot .

I think due to a technical glitch my review of this property almost a year ago did not go through. However given the phenomenal holiday i had, it was worth the effort to re post it. Here goes...
My 3 girlfriends and I did a weekend getaway to Koh Samui. The stay at the Lotus terraces was all that we could ask for...beautiful property, virgin beaches scattered with coral, lovely service! Sue the property manager was always there for us with a smile catering to all of our requests..some so late in the day but she still managed it all.
The property was beautiful...the gardens were beautifully landscaped and the villas were anointed tastefully. A special mention would go to the kitchen..it is any chef's dream..well stocked with all amenities and appliances.
Food was not included in the stay; however one could ask for a chef to come in and cook. We did not avail this. Instead we discovered a shack 10 minutes walk down the beach. The Thai food there was authentic and yummy! I'd recommend it any day over the fancy restaurants that are advertised all over Koh Samui!
And yes, you can ask Sue to arrange masseurs ..what can i say...they are a very talented lot. All of us girls had massages daily given that they were so economical and good!
A special mention for Jane, the booking agent who patiently answered all my queries..thank you!
All in all, I plan to return there again with the family. -

I can honestly say that I have travelled the world and never stayed anywhere as beautiful and serene as the Lotus Terraces. I plan on going back very soon.
I stayed with family members in the luxurious beachfront Banyan Beach Villa for Christmas 2011. Lounging on the covered beach front patio with a book or having the private masseuse come to my villa was a true bliss I was able to indulge in numerous times.
The villa was private and quiet but also close to larger towns for dining and shopping. If we didn’t feel like going out to eat the personal chef would cook in our own kitchen to order and serve us on the patio next to the ocean. Truly magnificent.
The villa was spectacularly decorated inside and out. It was extremely clean and the beds and linens were of the highest quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much and it was their pleasure to help. The managers, chefs, spa staff and housekeepers truly enhanced our experience in paradise.
I would recommend the Lotus Terraces Banyan Beach Villa to anyone who is looking for a fabulous luxury escape. -

My wife along with our daughters and their partners ( 8 adults) recently spent 10 days at the Banyan Beach Villa at the Lotus Terraces on Bang Por Beach in Koh Samui.
From the moment you enter the Banyan Villa you are taken back by the expanse of the living areas and the first class decor and furnishings. The first few hours of your visit will probably be spent wandering around admiring the architecture, the pavilion style open plan design and the quality appointments.
Then you will easily settle into the relaxed atmosphere of the villa and its surrounding gardens, 27 meter private pool and 25 meter community pool, that all overlook the most beautiful coconut palmed beach and waterway.
The location is in a quiet area of Ko Samui that is perfect to get a little bit away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the sanctuary of the Lotus Terraces. However the busy shopping and nightlife areas of Fishermans Wharf and Chaweng Beach are only a 15min or 25min respectively by inexpensive taxi or “tuk tuk.”
There are several restaurants, cafe, day spas etc at adjacent resorts along the beach.
Jane who is the house maid at Banyan Villa does an amazing job to ensure you are looked after and that you get the most from your stay. (Taking my wife to the local food market at 6.00am on the back of her motor bike to get the freshest food is above and beyond). You will find all of the staff at the Lotus Terraces attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.
Our family could not have been more happy with our stay at the Banyan Villa at the Lotus Terraces. Everything was superb. We will be back! -

We rented a "Banyen Garden Suite" which was essentially a large, luxurious hotel room with basic cooking facilities[ pretty much breakfast and an occasional lunch] a gorgeous luxury bath and shady private terrace with ourdoor fan. Loved the salt water beachfront pool, long enough to do laps, with a separate kids shallow end. The beach is perfect- three kilometers long, great for that morning walk.-water is bathtub warm with absolutely no surf in this area. It was great to have a van waiting to pick us up and the fridge stocked on arrival- I used their grocery order service- totally worth it! The large villas are gorgeous. If I was going with a family group or friends these would be ideal The property is private and tranquil.The area is pretty laid-back-low-key bungalows, and restaurants, away from the craziness of Chaweng. We ate at local restaurants-yummy- buy bottled water. Good info package in the room. Nathon is about 15 minutes by car or Sing Tao [local bus] for some bargain shopping. I had to ride an elephant. Skip the package tour with the animal shows and go on your own just for the elephant ride-pretty touristy, but fun. If you are a diver, it is worth going to Koh Tao for two or more nights on the catamaran that leaves from Lamprayah Pier, just down the road a bit. You can pre-book on their web-site up to three days ahead. We used Big Blue divers and they were a safe, reasonable outfit. There are a lot of dives- we could have stayed longer. Be ready for the heat, use lots of sunscreen and don't leave your air-conditioning on when you're not in your room- this is a big local sin!! Thai massage is one of lifes great pleasures- if you haven't tried it, you are missing out.

Myself and my girlfrind have recently returned from a month whistlestop tour of Thailand, including 3*, 4* and 5* hotels and Lotus Terraces was undoubtably the most amazing place of them all.
From the personal mobile phone and stocked fridge on arrival right through to our checkout, we thoroughly felt like we were the only visitors on the Island.
Immaculate Villa and immaculate service in every way. My only concern is that my girlfriend is now talking about getting married so she can have the wedding here - Lotus you are too good!!
