Sunset rock comprises of four beautifully designed pavilions set in a tropical garden with a terrazzo plunge pool under a mango tree and cooling waterfall cascading down the rocks.
Giving privacy Sunset Rock is situated on a large area of an old coconut plantation hillside with huge granite boulders, which form part of the natural architecture.
Gaze out at the stunning 180 degree view of the blue sea to the nearby islands & beyond to the mainland. Sitting on the timber deck, with drink in hand you can watch the magnificent sunsets that give this residence its name.

We spent 5 nites at Baan Palang Hin in Koh Samui. The place was beautiful, peaceful, and we were well looked after by aoi and James. Although it's quite a trek up and down the path from parking area to the house, it was well worth it. Main house has no air-con, but sleeping with all the sliding doors open and the breezes were spectacular. Need a car(or actually a 4wd or truck with good tires) to get up and down the roads. Pool was also great, we were the only folks using while we were there (although some mosquitos around the pool). Awesome place!

We stayed at Sunset Rock for a period of over two months and loved the house from the first day. For us it was just perfect. We loved the view, the green surroundings, the two gorgeous pools, the architecture and many more things. The private plunge pool is just below the living area and the common pool is just a few steps across the road. Sunset Rock is the closest building to the common pool in Nagalaya.
Another wonderful place to explore is the park and hill top behind the common pool that only few people ever walk in. It offers breathtaking views and romantic settings.
From the house you can reach a dozen beaches within 10 Minutes by car. The closest and one of the nicest is a 3 minutes drive away. Walking you can reach a beach within 10 minutes just below Nagalaya.
We have two little kids (then aged 1 and 3) and had to be aware they don't fall down stairs or drop in the pool but it was less of a problem than we thought before. It helped a lot that the plunge pool is located on a lower level than the main deck.
We will try to come back as soon as possible!

This is a superb property. Perched on the hillside, it has superb sea views, to be enjoyed particularly at sunrise and sunset. The doors to the living area fold back giving a feeling that one is living totally in nature. The plunge pool and the meditation cave offer real relaxation options. The shower carved into the natural rock is a wonderful experience! The pathways around the property joining up the different bedroom cottages are lined with orchids.
The rooms are furnished very tastefully. Lovely to relax in.
It is located fairly high up on the hillside and feels very private.
You need a car to get around. Probably a 4 wheel drive, due to the steepness of the hillside.
This was special. We travel a lot and stay in all sorts of luxurious hotels. Sunset Rock really does offer something totally different. Luxury in nature! -

Over the past several years , Nev and I have enjoyed several interludes ,each extending over a number of weeks, at the most beautiful residence in Samui Villas - Sunset Rock. The views over the Gulf of Thailand from every room are to die for - and we spent many an evening on the deck sipping sun-downers while enjoying some spectalar sunsets. Whether in the plunge pool sipping cocktails, or doing laps in the infinity swimming pool located at the top of the world, we felt like we were in heaven. There are massive rocks upon which the home has been built resulting in a most extraordinary energy...there is even a meditation area adjacent to the plunge pool, creating a very peaceful ambiance. There are of course all the mod cons you would expect, and serviced by a multitude of help available for any type of assistance needed. A great place to chill out, in between experiencing the local Thai massages just nearby. This is why we keep going back, we love it so much.

Sunnset Rock home provides unbelievable ocean views and tropical vegetation with total privacy. The home has everything, being contemporary and comfortable with a plunge pool and wide decks that allow for viewing magnificent sunsets from which the house so righty gets its name. I spent 5 weeks at Sunset Rock and highly recommend it as a must place to stay when you need to get in touch with the pleasures of being alive.
