      Road Noise, bed worn out

      With the amount of road noise you hear in this condo, you might as well not go to Hawaii, just go to any big city condo and open the windows. There is no air conditioning, and it definitely smells old and musty in there. Don't let the new kitchen fool you - the condo needs new carpets/flooring, and better ventilation in the bathroom. Also, there is no privacy going from the bathroom to the bedroom - people can see you easily from the street, and there are no curtains to close. So, you have to get completely changed in the bathroom and make sure you bring your clothes before taking a shower.

      Also, the hot water tank runs out very quickly, and they nickel and dime you to death (e.g. no kitchen garbage bags - you have to buy your own). The towels smelled so bad that we went to Walmart to buy new ones. Also, the bed is completely worn out, even though it is a king size.

      We were on our honeymoon, and still enjoyed ourselves overall, but it was in spite of this condo. I was fooled into staying here because of the nice pictures, but they don't show you the view of the busy road right outside. Forget about any peace and quiet when you stay here.

      We are sorry that the guest did not enjoy their stay in Kahala 521. We would have loved to have gotten this information while the guest was here so that we could have offered other options and rectified the issues at that time. The morning following guest arrival we did a welcome call to make sure that accommodation is comfortable and enjoyable. The guest was not in but a voicemail message was left.

      Our quality assurance manager whom oversees the interior of the condo will review the comments regarding carpeting/flooring and the issue with curtains between bathroom to bedroom area. This will be reviewed with the owner of Kahala 521.

      Our housekeeping manager was also forwarded this review and will rectify the situation regarding the old, musty smell of the condo as well as the bad odor of the towels.

      Great Tennis

      The condo was terrific. Very spacious, wonderful high pitched ceilings with two large decks. Great updated kitchen with everything you need. The layout is perfect, the bedroom is at the other end of the living area. Walking distance to the beach. Spacious well manicured grounds. 8 Tennis courts/club very well run for a minimal fee. Pretty much a "smoke free" complex which is great. Restaurant on site. The one downfall of this unit is that it is one of the closest to the street so you will get street noise. We closed the bedroom windows at night and for the most part there is no traffic from 1130 pm to 6 am. (I overlooked the traffic considering the good price)
      All in all I would recommend this complex

      Loved the condo, not the location so much..too close to the road and with no air conditioning (which was ok also, very comfortable with fans)it was noisy (especdially early in the morning). I can't think of any other thing that was a negative. The condo had everything a person would need (even beach toys)and was decorated very pretty and entertaining. The grounds are very beautiful and makes walking to the beach worth every step.

      Great lodging on Kauai

      We had a great vacation in Kauai and our condo contributed to that. We appreciated the pool/whirlpool on the property, the comfort of the condo, beach chairs provided, and that we could walk to the beach. The only downfall was the close proximity to the road, but the condo was so reasonable we could deal with that. It wasn't too noisy. It was also close to shopping and other attractions.

      This was our first trip to Kauai. We had a great time. People were very friendly. Accommodations were spacious and clean. We enjoyed our walks and the weather.
