The tropically furnished interior immediately whisks your mind away into a vacation paradise. Stroll down to the beach where you can have the pleasure of watching large sea turtles or endangered Hawaiian monk seals and if you are vacationing in the winter you can witness the graceful humpback whales in their natural climate.

We have stayed twice at this condo. We came back to it for the reason of its location and comfort. This condo is within walking distance of Brenneke's Beach, and Poipu beach. We have three children under seven and they don't find the walk too far. The tennis courts are directly in front of the condo as well. The ocean can be seen from the main lanai. The condo slept the five of us very comfortably. The beds on the main floor are quite old. They are okay for children, but I wouldn't chose to sleep on them. The master bed is king sized and very comfortable to sleep in. The decor and furniture is dated, but well maintained. The condo has plenty of room and has three lanai to enjoy. The services provided to guests is very good. They are willing to answer questions and be of any assistance to you. They are friendly and accommodating.

This unit has an excellent view (not "garden view").
Living room is large, albeit awkwardly laid out. Lanai is quite large. Kitchen is small, minimal counter space. Dishwasher has many broken tines on upper rack.
Windows are single pane with louvers (many don't seal when closed). There is no a/C. This unit is next to newer units that do have a/C. You get to hear the condensers cycling on and off all day and night, reminding you of the comfort they have--and you don't.
Cupboard are worn out, chipped, and otherwise unsightly. Electric outlets throughout the unit are worn out. Several won't even hold a plug.
The second bedroom is quite small. Two twin beds take up most of the room. Large closet is nearly impossible to get to without moving the bed in front of it.
The master suite upstairs is huge.
Technology is early 2000s, at best. Master bedroom TV is an old tube set with a VCR. Lr TV is a 480p flat screen with 3 Hdmi inputs. Lr TV remote is worn out; some buttons often didn't work. Tv is expanded basic from Time Warner (about 60 channels).
No Wi-Fi so I brought my own wireless router. Internet access is Time Warner and nothing to get excited about. Suite Paradise offers low quality Internet service with download speed of 1.1 Mbps (basic TW Internet on Kauai is 3 Mbps).
On Saturday night, we couldn't watch Netflix. Not enough bandwidth. Access to Netflix was just OK at other times.
A hotel-style phone is on each floor. Mobile phone service (for us, Verizon) was very good from anywhere in the unit.
Most condos at Poipu Kai are individually owned. However, Suite Paradise needs to step up on behalf of the customers and require condo owners bring their units up to date (this unit was new in 1979). Compared to condos we have rented in other resort locations, this unit just doesn't measure up. It's 20 years outdated. We won't come back to Poipu Kai to rent a unit in this condition ever again--especially not for a two-week vacation. This was our 4th stay here in 20 years. -

Excellent accommodations, first-rate service. Our family has been coming here for 18 straight years. Never a disappointment. Area is quiet, grounds are well-maintained, nice tennis courts, pools, hot tub - close to beach. Hi-speed Internet connection in suite makes it easy to occasionally check in on business matters back home. Perfect for a laid-back vacation.
