Located on a rise overlooking Poipu Beach and Brennecke Beach, Kapakai features a wonderful ocean view from the upper deck and ocean glimpses through the foliage surrounding the home. Poipu is always rated as one of the top ten beach destinations in the US, and for good reasons. The water is clear, the ocean abounds with tropical fish for snorkeling, the waves are just right for surfing, swimming, and boogie boarding, plus there is a sheltered area for toddlers to experience the sea for the first time. The grassy areas are great for picnics, and the playground equipment keeps the children entertained.

$800 refundable deposit is required; $280.00 (Includes tax) is for standard outcleaning fee;
13.416% Hawaii state taxes will be added to all reservations. An initial payment of $1000.00 required within 10 days of booking. The full amount plus security deposit is due 90 days prior to arrival. Minimum 4 nights booking; one week minimum booking during Christmas holidays, unless calendar allows otherwise.
Stays less than one week are subject to manager's discretion.

Our holiday season extends from Dec. 17- Jan. 6 with a one week minimum stay (2 week minimum if the stay includes both holidays). We divide the season into two periods with some flexibility on dates and length of stay. For the first week (Christmas) we ask our guests to arrange their departure date to fall between Dec. 26 and Dec. 28. This gives our second week guests a full week around the New Year’s celebration.

This home was a perfect spot to relax and use as a home base for visiting Kauai. It was exactly as described and the host gracious and helpful if needed. From the top deck we had a wonderful view of Poipu beach to watch sunsets and relax. We could walk in less than 10 minutes to Poipu beach for snorkeling and beach time. In the mornings we would walk to the point for sunrise and in the evenings walk back to same point for sunsets. Each one a unique experience. The home is large and accommodates larger groups allowing plenty of private space as well as areas for larger gatherings. It is a perfect place to stay to visit Kauai and I couldn't have asked for a better place to be. Thanks Julianna and Jim!

Wonderful, wonderful!! We stayed in this quality home for 16 nights & enjoyed every moment. With 6 of us in the home, there was plenty of room to find a tranquil place or have a private conversation. Thank you so much for the lovely stay at the Kapakai Home! We hope to return in the future =)

Jim & Juliana were so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole booking process, prior to arrival, as well as post departure from the island. They made the booking experience so easy, and were very clear with needed information before we got there, and provided helpful recommendations once we were on the island.
The house was wonderful; it had an amazing rooftop deck with an ocean view. It was great to be able to prepare food in the well equipped kitchen and enjoy fabulous sunsets over the Pacific.
There was a great ocean breeze throughout the house which made the need for aC unnecessary and the fans provided plenty of circulation.
This will be our first preference when we return to Kauai, and we can't say enough good things about the property to family and friends. -

Our group of six thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful home. There was plenty of space for everyone and we loved the heavenly breezes that kept the house a very comfortable temperature. The pretty serving pieces in the well equipped kitchen made eating either on the huge round table or on the lanai very enjoyable. The grounds were beautiful and the location of the house to beaches made us really feel like we were living in Paradise. I would highly recommend this home. The owners have provided everything needed.

We were so pleased that we found Kapakai when we were looking for a house to rent for our vacation in Kauai. What a wonderful place to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our family. The home was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. We all enjoyed preparing meals in the kitchen and grilling fresh seafood on the lanai. The roof top deck was the perfect place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee and a rainbow or an evening sunset and a starry night. While there were many homes in the neighborhood, the landscaping in the yard provided plenty of privacy. The beaches were easily within walking distance. The area provided plenty of activities for all of us, snorkeling, horseback riding, hiking, and shopping, luaus, and boat rides. We would love to enjoy another future vacation at Kapakai.

My husband and I and another couple stayed at Kapakai for about 10 days in January 2012. Juliana & Jim were very responsive to our questions before our arrival and called to check in on us during our stay. The house was just as it looked in the photos and just as described - it's very beautiful. It's in a neighborhood populated with vacation homes and condos so it's not "secluded" but it was always very quiet. It was a five minute walk to the beach and we could hear the waves at night in bed, which was nice. We had a nice view of the ocean from the rooftop deck and we enjoyed watching the sunset from there almost every night. The house and yard were well-maintained. We reported a problem with one of the slider doors and the dishwasher (it broke the day before we left) and Jim took the time to email us after our visit to let us know that those problems were fixed subsequent to our departure, which I thought was nice. They have lots of towels (for bath and beach) and all kinds of beach equipment (chairs, toys, etc). And although we didn't watch any movies, we were impressed with their huge selection of Dvd's. The house was very spacious with three separate living areas. The kitchen had the basics and we cooked dinner about half of the evenings we were there. Also, my husband said the grill was very nice! Finally, our security deposit was promptly returned. I highly recommend this home.

My husband and I spent a week in this fabulous home. It is spacious and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. It is a two-minute walk to the beach and a short walk to restaurants - everything is so convenient. There was a fireworks show New Year's Eve near the beach, and from the second-story deck, it looked like our own personal show. We could not have had a better view. And, the hot tub was great after a day of hiking. The home is stocked with everything you need for the beach - towels, mats, snorkeling fins.

This is a wonderful vacation home for a family or group get away. Large, open living area with lots of room, light and air. Very short walk to Poipu beach. Well equipped with games and such for those evenings or occasional rainy days. The upstairs deck is great for sunsets or just hanging out.

We loved this conveniently located house. Our family of six party included 2 teenagers, and recent college grad, and an 80+ grandmother. Everyone loved it.
Located 1 minute drive and 10 minute walk to Breneke Beach and Restatuant. Full amenities in the kitchen, plenty of beach supplies, and a great barbeque grill.
House is spacious, clean, nicely decorated (not overkill, not gaudy), with room to strech out in several areas as opposed to 1 main living area. Although it is hard to tell about the outside property from the photos on-line, the grounds are beautiful.
This is my 6th trip to Kauai, and first time staying at this house. We can't wait to go back and stay here again. -

Property was exactly as pictured in the photos. Family ages 5 to 65+ enjoyed the spacious living area, big backyard, and sunsets from the rooftop deck. It was a short 10-15 minute stroll to Brennecke's beach.
