As always we had a wonderful stay at 421. The new kitchen remodel and window treatments are fantastic. The view and the way the trade winds come through this condo is the best. All Parrish employees are great and helpful. We use the pool, beaches, and the park. Great location.
The master bedroom does need a new king size bed, but overall the condo is equipped with all that is needed. Thanks. Cann't wait for our next visit.

The room was nice and spacious - the kitchen was beautiful and perfect. I loved the location right by the new tennis courts along w/the BBQ and picnic area - to eat in the evening and enjoy Hawaii's beautiful weather. Walking distance to Poipu Beach (perfect for kids and snorkelers!) Saw sea turtles just at the corner of the Nihi Kai Villa office. Only thing is that I would suggest that the suite can invest and upgrade their bathroom and showers. Other than that, everything else is nice!

We stayed in Lihue on 2 previous vacations, and while they were great vacations, being in Poipu was even better. The location of the Nihi Kai Villas was perfect - close to great beaches, Koloa Town for shopping and easy to get to golf courses. We stayed in unit 421 - which gave us great views of the ocean and the beaches.
We are already talking about returning!

Brennecke Beach is a two minute walk. Brennecke Restaurant is a three minute walk. Poipu Beach is a 4 minute walk. You can walk to Star Bucks and the Poipu Shopping Center in 15 minutes where there are more great restaurants. You can walk anywhere from here. Great trail to Shipwreck Beach. If you're a runner, then you can head out from here to Spouting Horn. We stayed in Building 4, Unit 421, which is on the third floor. It is capacious and has a great view. I read on Trip Adviser that the view was disappointing because it's through the power lines, but don't let that deter you. The power lines are in the distance and it is still a GREAT view. We watched the sun set every evening from the balcony. Quiet. Peaceful. We loved having the tennis court right out the back door, and they are well maintained. The night snorkeling was FANTASTIC right in front of the condo. We watched a hundred bottle nosed dolphins one day right in front of our place. The front desk management was outstanding. They replaced a bedspread with a new one at our request and bought brand new fry pans. The bathrooms are outdated and not well lit, but how much time do you spend in the bathroom when you're in Hawaii?!! Nice pool, but we didn't use it much. If you go to Kauai, and you have to spend any time indoors because of the rain, you'll like staying in this unit.
A very nice rental unit.

We have been coming to Kauai/Popoi Beach regularly since 1998. Most of the time we have stayed at Nihi Kai. We have rented units 100 & 101 and have enjoyed being on the ground level and close to the ocean. However during the month of August the back bedrooms in those units can get muggy with the lack of air circulation. Also the rental restricions for unit 100 and the price increase for unit 101 pushed us to look for alternatives.
We rented unit 421 for 2 weeks in August 2009. We wanted the higher elevation for circulation and the view. In summary the experience was very good. We enjoyed sitting on the Lanai reading or having an evening coctail. The air circulation was better than the lower units but maybe not as good as units 420 & 422.
The unit itself was very comfortable and the kitchen was updated however neither bathroom was updated.. My wife did not like not having a solid wall vs. louvred doors between the master and the living room but that was academic for us since there were only two of us staying in the unit.
Also the location of the unit is good for tennis courts and the outdoor grilling. You can see if they are in use and plan accordingly.
The unit advertises as accommotating six people but this might be a bit cramped for six adults. For the same price and I would opt for units 420 & 422 which are 300 Sq Ft larger.
Overall our experience with this unit was good and we wood definately consider renting it again.
Just say yes!

Condo 421 has a view which we believe is on the front of postcards from Nihi Kai and it is spectacular. Having been and stayed at Nihi Kai 4 times in four different condos, and enjoyed them all gives us a decent perspective. This one has a remodeled and efficient kitchen which is nice when you stay for 30 days because you tend to use the kitchen more with a longer stay. The flights of stairs are to be considered because they can be tiring. The bed in the master bedroom is not as comfortable as we would like but these are minor problems. We enjoy the nearness to the pool and tennis courts. I would definitely recommend Condo 421 and in particular, Nihi Kai.

Poipu is the best place to sty on the island of Kauai. Why? For
one good reason: mosquitos!
Kauai is called the "Garden Isle" because of the large amount
of rainfall it receives every year – it keeps everything lush
and green. This means that on the rainy sides of the island
(the north side) it gets very wet. Poipu, on the other hand (on
the south side) is very dry.
The unit at Nihi Kai we stayed at was simply wonderful.
Mostly new inside, it featured an incredible view of Poipu
Beach with just a short walk to Brennecke's Beach and a
wonderful swimming spot for children.
The rest of Kauai is beautiful and charming. Just make sure
you're prepared for the mosquitos!

The location and view was awesome. The trade winds worked wonderfully - it was great to have a week without AC. The sunsets and the midnight moon over the ocean will bring memories for a lifetime. I visit Kauai every year and have stayed at Nihi Kai, rented houses and hotels - you get your bang for your buck with this place - and its nice to have the pool after you spend the day in the beach. Across the street you can see the turtles in the Jello - my favorite. Good luck - Carlos

my stay in your establishment was not enjoyable. the first two nights we could hardly breath. the stink of raw sewer drove us out of the room until the wind changed. this was due to your negligent care for the septic system. then several weeks after returnig home you called and offered me $100 off my next say at this location. a $100!!!! i feel this trivial amount offered for some kind of compensation is an insult to my intellegence. i may not be to smart, but you can bet i will never stay or recommend this place to anyone. if you were really interested in the clients welfare you would have dropped at least two days rent. it is evendent that money is the interest here. could i assume this will not be posted on your web site. good bet, the truth does hurt sometimes. dont bother with any further contact with me. Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay with us.
During your 6 night stay with us, you did not call or come to the front desk to complain about any odor. During our “Aloha” call the day after your arrival, you expressed everything was great and we stated that should you need anything to improve your stay with us to please call or come to our front desk on the property.
When we received your mailed guest comment sheet several weeks after you had departure, we immediately called you to explain that for a couple of days during your stay, the septic system did have a malfunction and subsequently fixed a day later. Please note this was not “negligence” and was simply a mechanical part failure out of anyone’s control of which the Association’s on-site manager immediately addressed and rectified.
Customer service is our top priority and had we known you experienced any discomfort during your stay, we would have moved you to a comparable or better unit. Our offer of a credit towards your next say was an initial way to say we apologize and we wanted to make it up to you in some way. However, you yelled that you would never some back to Kauai and hung up on our Guest Services Manager prior to us being able to finish the conversation and resolve it to your satisfaction.
We are sorry that you have chosen never to return as Kauai.
Would stay again

Great home, poor service

The property and home were great. The home was within walking distance to all major attractions of Poipu beach, and well stocked with novels, dishes, cutlery, jigsaw puzzles, and linens. Service was a big problem, and because of the service I received, I would not rent this unit or with this company again.
The unit was not clean when we arrived. We were asked to wait 2-3 hours for this to be completed. After making the 12+ hour overnight trip to arrive at this destination, adding this amount of time was extremely unpleasant, to say the least.
At the end of our stay, the cleaning staff came 15 minutes early and entered the home prior to our departure and started working. I have never experienced this before. Also, this was a bit ironic given that the cleaning process from the previous renters had not even started when we initially arrived. I was quite surprised, since this was another cut in to our rental time of the property, and I began to wonder why we were not seen as valued clients. Read more

Thank you for taking the time to post your review of your stay with us and we agree Nihi Kai Villas is a great property.
In regards to your check-in, you arrived at the property almost four hours prior to the check-in time of 2pm which is clearly posted on all your documentation. Our crew informed you that your unit was not ready as the prior guests had just checked out at 10am. Since we take great care in preparing all our units for our guests arrivals, our cleaners are trained not to allow guests to check in early into a unit that is not fully prepared. In the future, should you need a early check-in, please let our reservation team know at the time of making the reservation so we work to accommodate you.
In regards to the crew arriving 15 minutes early, we apologize. Our team had thought you had already checked out.
Rest assured that every client is valued and customer service is our top priority. We hope that we are able to host you again on Kauai.
