VancouverA special place in Korcula
Left on 10/11/2012 for a stay in October 2012
My wife stayed for a week in Gina's cozy, comfortable apartment. The apartment looks out onto a swimming beach that is less than fifty meters away. Having breakfast or dinner on the terrace while listening to the waves and watching the boats was a delight. The apartment is spacious for two people, it is outfitted with everything you could ever want (including umbrellas). Gina worked has worked in the hospitality industry in big hotels and knows all the touches that make a stay memorable. Gina herself is a treasure, doing everything she can to make your visit memorable. We were at the end do the season so she had a little spare time and offered to drive us to different swimming beaches and one afternoon took for a drive around the island. We ended up having dinner at a place where she is friends with the owner. It was our best meal in our three weeks in Croatia. The apartment is five minutes from the old walled city but far enough away to be out of the hubbub.
The Plaza and Gina have our highest recommendation. -

There were 4 of us ,pensioners, staying in this wonderfull place early in September 2012 for seven nights and as many days.I could not believe that we will end up having such beautifull time in the self contained apartment,so close to the little beach, lovely little corner store and their helpfull staff. And our host is yet again something special!Gina was helpfull in every possible way, making sure tha everything was in order,T.V,connection to internet etc.We were driven by Gina in her own car around, she always tried to make us feel at home. The beauty of the stunning island and surounding islands is hard to describe!Thank you Gina and Josko for the best time in our lives once again, memories will stay with us for as long as we live!We shall be back even though it is a long way from australia! Unfortunately I was only able to stay in Korcula for one evening, but I was so thankful to have come across Gina Lozica's apartment. The location is perfect with a lovely sea view, and the flat was absolutely spectacular - stunning and equipped with every amenity one could ask for. Furthermore, Gina is the kindest host - she was more than willing to go out of her way for us when we needed.
I highly recommend choosing this flat for your stay in Korcula!

Perth, AustraliaA gem in the heart of korcula
Left on 08/18/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We booked to stay at apartment Plaza for 3 nights in mid May on the strength of reviews we had read on Tripadvisor. Soon after we were met by Gina at the port, and dropped at her apartment we were already considering extending our stay - and we did. Gina has personality plus and her apartment is like a mini five star hotel. Ok, that is an exaggeration, she is not on call 24/7 but she has gone to a lot of trouble to present the apartment immaculately with a lot of attention to detail and everything you would want for a short or long stay. Aside from being spotlessly clean with all the mod cons and an assortment of appliances, she included a bottle of wine and chocolates or each of us on arrival. The apartment itself is in a great location close to the old town and a string of restaurants and bars just a couple of minutes walk down the road. It overlooks a beach, but we chose to swim off the rocks at a point just 5 -10 minutes walk around the shore from the beach which gives you great views back to Korcula and the old town. There were even beach mats for us!!
You really cant go wrong with this place. We loved Croatia and intend on returning sometime in the near future. We will definitely return here to base ourselves to see more of Korcula Island next time. -

The apartment was lovely, perfect for a holiday, I was only sad that we could not stay there for a longer time. Djina was warm, welcoming and very helpful to us upon arrival. The apartment is right next to the beach and we enjoyed the view from the lovely terrace while we cooked our Bbqs! It is very close to the town and all that Korcula has to offer. I would highly recommend this apartment, absolutely the best experience!

Edinburgh, United KingdomReally Excellent
Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012
I got this on the strength of the good reviews and the prompt responses from the owner. I'm happy to say that it actually exceeded expectations, in that rather than being simply a well-equipped holiday apartment, it had the feel of being a place you could actually live in, as it had so many useful and also nice to have bits and pieces. Unsurprisingly, this actually was where the owner lived at one point, which made sense.
The apartment is literally across the road and up some steps from the main town beach (which is actually very small) and no more than a very easy and pleasant 10 minute walk from the old town centre. The walk takes you past many restaurants, bars and the port, so is busy and scenic.
In particular, the bathroom was very modern and well kitted out and it was an absolute pleasure to use a (very fancy multi-jet) shower which had no water, pressure or heating problems, having come from Mljet where our shower and taps literally trickled water and had two settings of cool or scalding.
The apartment also has aircon, which worked well in the mid-30s we had all week. This is something that some better hotels in Korcula don't even have, and is the difference between a good sleep and not in very hot weather.
Gina, the owner, could not have been more helpful and was very quick in her email responses, both before and during the holiday. To me, that's always a good sign and is one of the main reasons why I booked in the first place, as it gives a level of confidence in the person you're dealing with.
Another reviewer mentioned the tortoise (Sosa), who unfortunately we only first saw the day before we left. We also fed her cucumber and tomato (pure coincidence) and hopefully other guests will do the same. -

It really was a great apartment; in fact our best in two weeks touring Slovenia and Croatia. It was clean, a short walk to town, and Gina was very helpful. It was quite and a small market was a few yards up the road. Gina picked us up from the boat dock at no charge.
The only mistake that we made was taking the shuttle to Dubrovnik. It was slow and they didn't dropped us off at the apartment as promised. (Gina said that she will look into this; check with her first.) The other option is taking the early bus (about 6:45 am) to the Dubrovnik bus station and then a taxi to your hotel. -

We really enjoyed our four night stay in Plaza apartment in Korcula. The owner, Gina was really helpful from booking through to picking us up off the ferry. The apartments are in a good position just a short walk from town. There are bars & restaurants very nearby & a little supermarket just up the road. The apartment was perfect - it’s really a little cottage with views of the sea from the terrace. It is extremely well fitted out with everything there (& more!) that you could possibly want during your stay - down to an icing pump & chopsticks! Everywhere was nicely furnished & spotlessly clean, & nothing is too much trouble for Gina. There is also a lovely little tortoise that lives in the garden; we enjoyed feeding her tomatoes & cucumber -so cute! Go you will not be disappointed!

ChristchurchFabulous place to spend a couple of weeks
Left on 07/07/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We stayed here after 3 months of being on the go travelling, and it was the perfect location to spend 2 weeks just relaxing. Some days we did day trips, other days we simply did nothing much. The apartment is so comfortable, the view is lovely from the terrace, with quick access to town, eateries, and supermarkets. The pebbly beach is thirty steps down the hill, and the location is so surprisingly quiet, given how close it is to everything! House has doubleglazed windows, and good seals, so there was no noise whatsoever once the windows were closed. Neighbourhood was completely quiet anyway after 10pm. Wifi was excellent and the place is well stocked, with lots of little extras. It was so easy staying here, and Gina was the perfect host, leaving us to just relax completely as we pleased, never coming into the apartment, but when she popped her head in to water the garden down below, she would check that we had everything we needed. Great place in every aspect (and it was so clean when we arrived)

We stayed here in mid june initially only for a couple of nights but extended our stay after our first night there. The aparment is actually a small cottage with all the mod cons. It was like a mini five star hotel. No really!! It overlooks a small beach down below and is only a few minutes walk to the old town. Gina, the owner met us at the ferry and delivered us to the door. She offered up all sorts of info and made herself available if we needed her at anytime. Our only regret was that our travel commitments prevented us from staying longer.

My wife and I stayed at apt Plaza for two nights in June and were pleasantly surprised to find a spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped apartment just 50 metres from a swimming beach and a short, flat, 5 min walk to the old town of Korcula. Gina was great. After meeting us at the apartment and giving good tips on where to go, see and eat, a meal from a restaurant 30m away arrived at our door as a welcome treat! There is a lovely long veranda in front of the apartment where you can sit and enjoy a meal or drink gazing through the trees to the water. The apartment was the first we had encountered in five weeks of travelling that provided soap, shampoo, lotion and numerous other bathroom and kitchen extras that made staying here that much more pleasant. We would definitely recommend apt Plaza as very good value for money.

We stayed 2 nights but apt Plaza would also be perfect for 2 weeks, or 2 months...
Gina has thought of everything to make it a home away from home. Actually it's better-equipped than our own home -- every appliance from washer (detergent provided) to blender to cake mixer etc etc. Also olive oils, herbs & spices, complimentary little bottles of wine, which we quaffed on the terrace enjoying the sea+mountain view.
The cottage has a fantastic location -- pebble beach/sea is just down some stone steps and across a quiet road; a grocery store is on the same road, and the ultra-picturesque old town is 5 mins stroll away. Terrace overlooks grassy open space so there's no obstruction; it was ideal for a scenic breakfast. There's also a bbq with charcoal provided. And a clothesline with pegs provided. Bedroom had big comfy bed, dresser and closet, bathroom had great tub & shower, toiletries provided. Wifi worked.
Gina was very responsive, prompt with email and answering calls. She met us at the ferry pier and drove us to the house, showed us where things were, suggested restaurants, even offered to drive us to Lumbarda to try a highly recommended eatery. One of the warmest hosts of the several we experienced on this trip.
There are dozen or so steps to access the house, but most places in the old town have even more steps to haul luggage up/down, plus sloping cobblestone alleys. -

Left on 05/28/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We travelled to Croatia from late april through the first two weeks in May. We stayed in apartments in Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar, Split and Trogir. We were happy with all of our accomodations but Plaza apartments in Korcula was definitely the nicest apartment we stayed in for a number of reasons:
• Gina was wonderful to deal with, when we were making our reservations before we left and once we got to Korcula. We accidentally ended up on the vehicle ferry from Orebic, which doesn't dock right in town. Gina offered to pick us up at no cost, so we didn't have to take a taxi. When we arrived at the apartment, she explained everything to us and was then available by phone or through email for any questions we had. We appreciated the small bottles of wine that were there for us on arrival as well.
• Location - the location was great. About a 5 minute walk into old town on a nice level road. The apartment overlooks a small beach and the marina. There is a grocery store right next door with a bakery and deli. There is also a restaurant two doors down, if you didn't feel like taking the 5 minute walk into town.
• Amenities - this apartment had everything we could have asked for and was truly the best of all of the apartments we visited in this regard. Wireless internet; clothes washing machine; fridge; dishwasher; cooktop; good selection of pots, plates, serving dishes, glasses, utensils; several small appliances including a kettle and coffee maker; lots of towels and linens, beach towels and beach mats; and a number of other things. The apartment was also tastefully decorated with modern, comfortable furnishings and had lot of room for my husband and myself.
We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment.

The photos of the apartment don't do it justice. The interior is modern and clean and it has a great shower, kitchen, living room, air-con, bed and balcony overlooking the beach. The wi-fi was handy and the luxury reclining armchair was very comfortable. The views are great and Gina is very helpful and accommodating. There's nothing wrong with this place apart from it doesn't have any signage, it gets 10/10!

My wife and I spent five days here during our honeymoon and it was amazing! The location is phenomenal. It is very close to the old town and the road it is on is closed to traffic most hours of the day so it is very quiet. The apartment is huge, very well decorated, and has a great view. Gina gave a wine for our honeymoon! She also gave us great recommendations for restaurants. We cant wait to come back to Korcula and stay in this same apartment.

This is a great apartment and we would have loved to spend more time here. Gina met us when we arrived, gave us advice on nice places to eat and even brought us on a day trip to Lombarda during our stay. The space is great, both comfortable and clean. It's only a couple of minutes from the centre of town so it's lovely and quiet at night. We had breakfast and lunch on the balcony almost every day and could wander down to the beach which is literally on the doorstep. Almost everything we needed was at our fingertips; Wifi, TV, aircon, kitchen well stocked with utensils, dishwasher, washing machine and great BBQ (charcoal available in shop next door). Perfect for a short or long stay. Some might think it is a little expensive but it is definitely worth it.

Our 5 days in Korcula staying in Gina's apartment was the highlight of our overseas trip. She couldn't have been more accommodating to us even taking us in her car to the other side of the island for a look around. The apartment had everything you could want in a holiday apartment and was spotlessly clean, air conditioned, free wifi, new bathroom and so close to the beach and shops. A ceiling fan in the bedroom would be the only suggestion I could offer. We will be recommending this apartment to our friends.

Apartment Plaza exceeded all of our expectations! We were in Korcula for only one day and Gina helped us make the most of it - she could not have been a more accomodating hostess. She made sure we knew our way around the town, recommended great restaurants, and even went as far as to drop us off at our 6am ferry (her idea!). The apartment was large, clean and well-equipped, and has a wonderful outdoor space with water views. It's very close to both town and to the beach. I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough - I would absolutely stay there again!

The accommodations were absolutely perfect for our needs. Once you get there, you don't need any type of motorized transport. The beach is down the steps and across the street, the Old City Center is less then a 10 minute walk away. Plus there's lots of great places to eat and drink in between.
The supermarket is near by, and the kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and such if you desire to prepare some of your own meals. There's even a BBQ on the terrace (you will need to buy your own charcoal though). Oh, and that lovely terrace! What a great view, and a wonderful place to eat and knock back a few drinks before you go out for the evening.
And let me not fail to mention the air conditioning, as a person who cannot sleep without it, it was sublime! The bathroom was also large and modern, in fact the whole place's interior is new and well appointed.
What else can I say? I had a wonderful time, and Gina's advice on where to go and what to do were spot on!

Apartment Plaza is the perfect place as a base for exploring Korcula. It has a great location just by the beach and a local shop. 5-10 minutes to the old town, and restaurants along the promenade on the way to town. We stayed four adults in this apartment for four days, which worked out fine, even though it ment two sleeping on a sleeping couch in the living room. The apartment is very modern inside, great bathroom, and with all the facilities you could ask for! It also has a great terrace outside.
The beach is located only 100 m from the house. It's not the biggest one, but it's perfect for swimming and sunbathing if you want something close. We spend a lot of time here.
Gina is also very helpful! She picked us up when arriving at the port, and offered us to take us to places on the island.

This place is amazing! Just back from 4 nights there with my girlfriend and we both loved it. The apartment is a nice 5 min walk from the centre of town, overlooking the bay. Its nice and quiet but yet only a few mins from the bars/restaurants. It has a great terrace, the interior is nice and modern and Gina has kitted out the kitchen well. Very private and we enjoyed having dinner on the terrace as much as going out for food. Gina is great, picked us up at the ferry port and was always around to help if needed! I've travelled a fair bit and this is one of the best places I've stayed. One small thing, the apartment had been smoked in so we had to air it a bit when we arrived, but that really shouldn't detract from what is a great place. Can't imagine you'll find anywhere better in Korcula for the money. Also, it has wireless!

We booked this apartment quite close to the date we travelled and from the moment we emailed the owner, Gina, she couldn't have been more helpful. She offered advice on how to get to Korcula and picked us up from the ferry port too. Throughout our stay she was on hand with advice, offered to take us to villages around the island and even picked up our rubbish when I enquired where the public dustbins were!
The apartment/house was a sight for sore eyes after a night in a sub-standard room in Split. It had everything we needed (and more) for a week-long stay and was spotlessly clean. It has modern decor, is light and airy and has a great bathroom! The terrace is big enough for a long table and overlooks a small terraced garden (with some lovely plants including lemon trees and lillies), down to a road/promenade which is just above the shore. There's a small shop with fresh fruit, veg, bread, and any essentials you might have forgotten a few steps away and a few restaurants and bars along the promenade/road into town (which is a five-ten minute walk away). We visited in early May and a restaurant/bar which is at the bottom of the stairs (a public walkway) on the immediate left of the property was not open - but presumably in the season this is open too.
The apartment is in a great location if you want to explore the town or use the amenities there. It is close to everything and in amongst other houses and apartments (rental and local). The beach it overlooks is shingle, quite small and overlooked so not one for sunbathing - but has beautiful crystal clear water - like all of Croatia! The promenade (a road, I believe, out of season) seemed quite busy with people wandering or cycling past all day and there is a path immediately to the left of the property - good for people watching - but not very secluded.
Having said that - I enjoyed breakfast outside on the terrace every day with views of the sparkling adriatic through pine trees - what could be better than that? -

We had a realy nice stay in the Plaza apartment. The place is absolutely wonderful, a kind of stile that we would like to have at home.
The apartment is situated just near the center but also just enough away that you can enjoy the sea-wiew from the terrace in peace.

Adelaide Australiafantastic apartment & great side of old town
Left on 03/24/2011 for a stay in September 2010
My husband & I stayed at this apartment last September. This accommodation is not directly in the old town walls but just a very short walk around the coast near a small beach just out of town. This means you can get to the beach by taking a quick stroll directly down the steps alongside the apartment or take a short walk to the old town which can get very busy and warm during the day. On the way into the old town there are all the boat trips out to the islands & other beaches - so a perfect spot to base yourselves.
The apartment was immaculate with all the modern conveniences - big bath and great kitchen. Lovely sitting area and cable tv - when you want to catch up with the news. One of the best nights was when my husband cooked homemade pasta and we ate it in front of the big french doors and then sipped wine on the balcony. The balcony & the bench-table that is set up outside is a great place to enjoy a leisurley breakfast in the morning before popping off to the beach.
During our stay we spent time in the old town, took a boat trip to an island that seemed virtually uninhabited (take a packed lunch - bliss!), walked along the coast to our own private rock beach and enjoyed some lovely meals in restaurants in the old town (white wines & cheese here are fantastic!).
Gina is lovely - enthusiastic & bubbly she gave us a warm welcolme & you can tell she really wants you to enjoy your stay in Korcula. She said 3 nights were not enough to explore the area and when it was time to leave we had to agree. -
