We spent one night on Oct 28th, the view on the Cliff house is absolutely amazing! We arrived around 2 pm on that day and don't wanna go out again. The owner Richard is a vey nice person and kindly offer us a basket of fruits and some Kona coffee. Just remember to bring your food to cook before you arrive there.
The only thing we think need to be improved is the kitchen need a dishwasher and a range hood. In addition, there is only one bathroom in the house. -

This place is so great I don't really want to tell anyone about it! Located literally at the edge of a cliff looking directly up the coast to Waipio valley and beyond this spotlessly clean house is a great place to stay and visit surrounding areas. My husband and I stayed here in June 2012. The owner told me I would regret not staying longer and we did! So peaceful at night, glamorous water views out of all windows except one, everything you need to cook for yourself but close to nice little hippy towns you can visit. There are even a couple of cute cows who visit! Great birdwatching if you Iike that too, and literally 200 metres from Waipio valley lookout, but the view of this famous valley is better from the house!! We loved everything about this place.

This place enjoys a terrific position and total privacy. It has a lovely feel and is well equipped. Richard is extremely helpful and actually arranged a friend to fly our lost luggage over from the airport the day after we arrived. I much preferred the east of the island for the people and landscape. We found Kona etc disappointing after this. The food on big island is fairly dire so you might as well cook for yourself and you won't get a better view from the dinner table than this place.

A Glimpse of what Heaven would look like is what our stay at The Cliffhouse was like! It's a bit indescribable. To capture the beauty, serenity and comfort of this home one would have to visit. I will post some pictures to try to convey the beauty. The home itself is amazing, we entered to the beautiful home on it's gorgeous deck overlooking the Waipio Valley. The house is literally built into the cliffside, so the views are breathtaking. There are acres of land surrounding the home with beautiful horses and small calfs. The home is super comfortable, up to date, all the amenities that you would need! You can walk from the home about 1/10th of a mile, maybe even less...to the Waipio Valley Lookout! We couldn't wait to venture down into the Valley! It's a rough hike,down and up, but totally worth every muscle cramp and drip of sweat! At the bottom of the road, go to the right to see the beautiful black sand beach and wild horses! The head back down the road to the end for the incredible view of the 1200ft waterfall!
After our hike I contacted the woman who keeps up the house for the owners, Rachel. She came to the house and gave me an incredible massage on the beautiful deck!!! Talk about Heaven!!
Make sure you stop to get your groceries on the way into the area and home, as you will not want to leave once you arrive! Upon arrival there is a basket of yummy fruit, macadamia nuts and Kona Coffee...Yummy!! We did not want to leave!
You will love your stay at the Cliffhouse! If I can only do one thing different...I would have stayed an entire week! :)
