We stayed for 9 nights Over the Christmas period, and picked up at the airport ,Dian was there to greet us at the Lobby. The apartments location within the Hotel was good 2nd floor, I wouldn't call it Luxurious, although it was furnished well and comfortable.
Position was excellent easy walk to beach,shops and plenty of transport available on the street. Also the convenience of Restaurants & Circle K nearby.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. -

Comfortwise the apartment was very nice and clean, although there was a horrible smell from the bathroom which owners didn't manage to fix, so we could use the bathroom only if not breathing there.
Location was not the best. Although it looks close to th beach, that part of the beach is not tourist friendly at all. It's around 10 minutes downtownto Kuta beach, but if you walk along a narrow dirty sidewalk and a busy street it's really not pleasant. -

We were greeted at the airport and drove straight to the apartment, it was late but there was someone there to give us the key and show us around.
Beautiful apartment with everything we needed, loved having the big fridge and the washing machine!
Free wi-fi was a plus.
2 tvs were good as our 2 children (6 and 3 years) slept on the fold out sofa.
Use of the pool was good, rooftop bar was closed the entire time we were there but I kind of expected that as I had read the same thing on reviews of the hotel.
Hotel staff were not helpful at all! In regard to tours and car/driver but that's
the only negative I have for the place.
Would recommend if you have children getting breakfasts and drinks at very close by supermarket as the hotel restaurant is a little pricey for meals.

Good location, a short walk to the beach. Near many good restaurants and shopping. Very comfortable accommodations...wonderful bed, all you need in the kitchen, washing machine, nice deck.
A private residence in a hotel...very secure, and hotel staff extremely helpful. Easy to check in, and any problems handled by alex's manager Diane.
Only negatives...pool area has a limited number of lounges, and the roof-top bar was closed.
Would definitely stay again! -

The apartment was fantastic. We had a great size bed for my husband and i and my 3 year old slept on the fold out couch which was great! Had our own little kitchen which had everything we needed.We had 2 Tv's and 2 Dvd's which was great with a 3 year old and free WI Fi and a computer in the bedroom free usage. The hotel itself was awesome the staff were fantastic! The only negative comment would be the drinks were pricey at the hotel so we bought from Bali Deli and had them in our room. Great stay very peaceful would stay again!

The apartments is indeed very new, stylish, clean, just perfect! Owners though about every detail, so you will find absolutely everything there, even the very very handy starter kit (like some fresh water and salt/ pepper, washing powder, etc) upon your arrival. There is a beautiful beach walk towards the Kuta center and the main beach. Location is good, very quite being just around the corner from noisy streets. Hotel restaurant's food is delish :)
We loved this place and absolutely recommend it to everyone! -

Easy to book allowing for the 9 hour time difference, and very flexible on arrival / departure times which is essential when travelling with children.
Picked up from the airport wich is 10 mins away. Hotel and apartment very clean and as per the pictures. Books magazines and Dvds also provied as well as computer. Hotel also has free wifi and a kids club which was handy for a couple of hours. Pool is small, but never busy and swim up bar is a nice touch. There is also a very nice rooftop bar in the evenings. The hotel itself is expensive for food and drink compared to what you can get outside. We took a list of the 'top 20' restaurants and didn't get to half of them as we returned to most of them at least twice. I won't review them here as it is a mater of choice, but if you get a bad meal you'd be very unlucky.
There will of course be mosquitoes, so buy the spray and plugs. In two weeks we had two or three 'bites' between the three of us. it is a short walk to the beach, 10 mins to Discovery and Waterbom and a 15-20 walk into central Kuta. Taxis very cheap but the traffic is extremely busy even by my London standards. We booked tours from outside the hotel as they offered more choice and inclusive items like lunch. Kids loved the rafting and you get to see the scenery of the Bali countryside which is outstanding.
This was my first rental, so nothing to compare to...but compared to the hotel we were in, I'd say a very good deal. Next time I may consider a place with its own private stretch of beach, but this is a very good alternative.Response from Alex Riva - 04/27/2012

If you're looking for quiet, this is it. In the evenings it was so peaceful and being able to sleep was never a problem. The beach only a short stroll away and very few hagglers. We walked into the busy Kuta so that also is not far away. There is mini marts close by and a money changer with good rates near the exit gate. There is no noisy bars close by which suited us. The room is as good as it looks in the photos. The airconditioning was simply superb. The bed, which when you travel is important was so comfortable getting up was an issue. Quite frankly we couldn't fault this accommodation it was just great.

I had the pleasure of staying in this great apartment with my two children. It is very clean, spacious and well equipped with everything one would need. There is a well-equipped kitchen with plenty of appliances and large fridge/freezer. A flat screen tv in the lounge-room and bedroom both with dvd players was perfect as I didn't have to 'fight' the kids for tv time! The computer in the bedroom was a great asset and made it easier to communicate with home.
It is a really good set-up here being in a competitively priced apartment but having access to all the facilities of the aston Hotel. This does include the gymnasium and kids club which were important to me and of course the swimming pool.
Directly across the road is a 24 hour circle K where you can purchase everything you need and a nice cafe/restaurant with great food for great prices!
I cannot complete this review without highly commending the fantastic service I received from alex the owner of the apartment. I had to change the dates of my stay on more than one occasion and alex was very kind, helpful and accommodating to my needs. I cannot thank him enough for his understanding and professional and courteous attitude. It just makes me want to stay at his apartment over and over again.
Thank you so much alex for allowing us to stay in your lovely apartment and for being so fantastic to deal with!!

We have been to Bali 6 times and this appartment would have to rate up there with the best we have stayed in.The price was good and the tranquility and quiet was very relaxing after a hot day out in the rat race.it was clean and Rina was very helpful both with the check in and any other queeries that we had during our stay.We like the area that this appartment is in because although its out of the hustle and bustle of Kuta its just a 6 min walk to where the action is.Thanks alex and we will be back on our next visit to Bali and will pass this jem on to our friends and family with comfidance.

We loved staying here. Location was the best of all the places we stayed in Bali. Was close to the boats to go out surfing and the nicer end of the Beach as mostly groomed at this end. Close to everything. Internet was down but they tried their best to get it sorted.

The apartment is immaculate, could not have asked for better for the price. It was good to have all the comforts of home, the selction of magazines was a nice touch, and the free internet was great. Rika was exceptionally helpful.
The location is great, just a short walk to the beach, then along the beach path to Discovery Shoopping Centre. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Hope to return in the future, and would recoomed this apartment without hesitation. -

Our stay at this apartment was absolutely fantastic! Right from the very first enquiry contact that I made with alex to Rika chasing something up for me after we had left, their service was excellent. The apartment itself was immaculate and sooo comfortable. All of the furnishings, including the bed and pillows were very comfortable also. We would not hesitate in staying here again and again and will definitely recommend this apartment to our friends (even though I'd like to keep it my little secret!). We had a lovely stay at the appartment in the aston Hotel. The apartment was very well equipped, complete with wi-fi and a computer, and DVD players ( sometimes difficult to get teenage boys out of the room). the apartment was very comfortable, and user friendly. Mini marts, cirlcle K, and many places to have a massage outside the door.

The apartment was of a high standard,Alex was able to answer any queries we had prior to our arrival and Rika met us on our arrival and ensured we had a comfortable stay.The apartment is ideally located and has many additional features you don't get at a hotel,such as washing machine which is really handy ,computer for internet access great for keeping in contact with family and friends.All in all it was great value and I would have no problem in recomeding this apartment to anyone.Thganks alex and Rika for a great holiday,my only regret is we had to leave and come home.

We were greeted with the cosy feel of home when we entered the apartment! There was a kitchenette and a comfortable TV area with a couch. The bedroom was well furnished, even coming with a selection of magazines and also free internet access! There was also a washing machine so you can do your laundry for free! Certainly a highly recommended place to stay that's value for money!

The residence is spatious, well furnished and nicely maintained. It was a nice place to stay in Kuta.
The check-in formalities are quick, efficient; the host explained us everything we needed to know.
The location is pretty good: you can easily reach all attractions in the region. The hotel pool (which the residence guests have access to) was excellent.
Liked: almost everything
Disliked: the noise made by the shower mechanism when using it - this really is something for the host/owners to take care of. -

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dem appartment. Unkomplizierte abwicklung im Vorfeld mit dem Eigentümer. Das appartment ist sehr komfortabel ausgestattet...von der Küche über die 2 Lcd's und 1 PC, sogar Klimaanlage in beiden Räumlichkeiten. Schlafcouch im Wohnzimmer nur für kleinere Personen geeignet. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt vor der anlage, sehr zentral gelegen (wenige Minuten bis zum Strand bzw. ca. 10 Minuten zum Zentrum von Kuta).Für Fragen jeglicher art steht Rijka zur Verfügung. Sogar 1 Fahrer, Wayan, hat sie uns vermittelt. Sehr zu empfehlen, spricht englisch, sehr nett, vorsichtige Fahrweise (was in Bali nicht immer selbstverständlich ist). Appartment nur wenige Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt. Keine angst, Fluglärm kaum wahrnehmbar (mit laufender Klimaanlage gar nicht). Tolle Restaurants im näheren Umfeld, am Besten ausprobieren. Wir kommen gerne wieder...Vielen Dank alex, Rijka und Wayan für die schöne Zeit.

We had an excellent stay at these apartments. They couldn't be more helpful and welcoming from first booking till time to go back to the airport. The apartment was superb, and great have a computer with internet right there at no extra expense. The hotel the apartments were attached to was also very beautiful. I did find it was a little be far from the main area in Bali and taxi fares were aboutb$7 australian and about 10 minutes drive. In saying that there was plenty of shopping everywhere. The breakfast at the hotel was really expensive and just aroung the corner we found a great place for brekky. It was always full with families etc so you know it's good. I would definately recommend to anyone to stay here.

Firstly I would like to thank Alex for his professional. prompt and courteous manner in relation to all enquiries regarding the booking of his apartment, Rika for greeting us on arrival and always been available for any queries that we may have had and also Angel for doing a brillant job of keeping the apartment in pristine condition. I travelled with my husband and nine year old daughter. Having visited Bali on many occasions
and stayed in various hotels and villas, we all felt that this was the most comfortable, clean, safe, good location and beautifully fitted out with a very modern decor along with the very friendly and happy staff at the Ashton. We did not need for anything it really is the home away from home but I can assure with a much quicker internet than we have at home. The balcony was spacious and very private. Although a privately owned apartment you can order room service which we used frequently - Just something to note if you order in person at the restaurant near the lobby you can select from a more extensive menu than the one supplied in the apartment with the benefits of having it delivered to your room and rather promptly at that and very reasonably priced. Also I found the best Spa - Balisari Spa Centre it is 1 minute walk from the Ashton walk out of hotel turn left and cross the road - You may pay abit more but it is definately worth it !!!
We have been recommending the apartment to our friends since returning and will definately be returning. -

We're so happy staying at this place. First of all, the easy and friendly arrangements/communications with alex and Rika was the great start. Then they place itself was excellent. All the facilities (TVs, Vcds, computer with internet access, kitchen and washing machine) you need while you're away (specially with little children and teenager) are in this place. We love the pool and the hotel spot close (walking distance) to restaurants, mini marts, atm machine and massage places. You can also walk to the beach by 10 minutes.
If you need to go to shopping mall, Discovery Plaza only like 20 minutes walks (if you feel like walking, or otherwise just take taxi). We love having brunch at Black Canyon at Discovery Plaza. They serve lovely coffee and meals with great view of Kuta beach.
Over all, this place is excellent. Thanks to alex and Rika. We definitely recommend this place to friends.
ps. The children say hello to the birds who made their nest on the tree at the balcony. -

Had a memorable time and very relaxing with the kids. Great location and very comfortable for all of us, especially ideal having those few luxuries like at home ! Loved the fact that we had a washing machine plus two televisions ! The unit was impeccable, well laid out and loved the use of the complimentary magazines and Dvd's. The hotel staff were friendly and happy to assist us with all our concerns/enquiries. Easy to catch a taxi to Kuta (don't pay more than 10,000 rp), with kids a little too far to walk (had a five year old and 21 month old baby). It was also great there was a mini mart just outside the hotel, so great to stock up on water etc. Easy 10 minute walk to nearby restaurants. Loved the service we received from alex, professional and very friendly !

Very nice apartment nothing was a problem,
Rika made every effort to make sure the stay was perfect

From the start of dealing with Alex (property manager) he was more than prompt with his responses as well as just being a down to earth sort of guy. Making it very easy for us to forward him our questions. In fact I almost felt like I new him for a number of years rather than a week or so of our contact in sorting out all the loose ends. The biggest loose end I might add came down to a Paypal issue I was having, so Big Al said, "no worries send me an envelope with 50 bucks in it as your deposit". So I did and the rest was history! Just like the old days.....
Alex.... one last time, thanks again for taking into consideration our particular needs. (o;
In regards to the apartment, it was more than comfortable with everything you need to feel like you're more or less staying at home (haha, maybe even a nicer home than your own) The kitchen is fully equipped with everything modern you need to be self sufficient with and the decor great. Our only complaint was that the phone bill hadn't been payed, I was irrate for days! Only joking... I gave Rika (the caretaker) an email and within an hour that was all fixed up. (o;
Although the apartment is located in a hotel but technically not part of the hotel you still have full use of the bar pool which was great as there was always someone down there to have a few cold ones with and a bit of a yarn. One last thing I have to add is about the staff in the hotel part of this complex. We stayed in 3 other hotels on this trip and they were without a doubt the best we experienced. They helped me with a special dinner for my wife and I in the restaurant, with some extra little touches as I decided to suprise her. That was so nice of them which they really didn't have to do and they were just all around happy to help.
So all in all, a great place to be!
P.S Alex, next time we're in town you'll be the first we call.

Luxurious and clean apartment in Aston on the border of Tuban and Kuta. Selection of shops, delies (kodak shop & circle 7), restaurants and even a CBA bank all within short walking distance.
Beach only about 200m and good path along beach all the way to Kuta, Legion and further; about 20 min walk to Kuta passing several decent beach front restaurants for that sunset meal. This time of the year the beach was fairly dirty due to prevailing currents and we used the Aston pool after a day of sightseeing.
Heavy rain and blocked drains caused some minor flooding one night, but a phone call to Rika (unit's manageress) had the unit cleaned and larger drains installed the next day.
Looking forward to our next visit to Bali and would not hesitate in staying at unit again if available.Response from Alex Riva - 02/21/2010

We had a wonderful time at the apartment over Christmas. It is located in a new hotel
complex which gives you access to all the hotel facilities on top of all the advantages
of a luxury apartment (more space, cooking facilities etc). Quiet location but still very
central to Kuta beach, Seminyak etc. Very customer focused owner and host always

We couldn't have hoped for a more comfortable stay in Kuta. The furnishings in the apartment were so modern and the apartment itself had all the little comforts you'd look for in a place away from home.
What we liked best was the air-conditioning which allowed us to escape from the stifling Bali heat! We also loved having access to a computer, as well as having a DVD player that would play the movies we'd brought with us from home (not that we spent much time watching TV anyway!)
It was also fantastic that we could feel secure within the hotel/apartment property. It was no bother having to have our bags checked every time we walked into the hotel as it was reassuring to know that our safety was a priority for the property staff.
Last but not least, we were very pleased to have Rika meet us at the hotel and take us through everything we needed to know for our stay in the apartment (as well as reassuring us we could call her anytime with questions!). She was very friendly and professional and definitely started off our wonderful stay in a great way!

The apartment is new and quiet, there are no teens drinking and carousing. The apartment has a comfortable bed and all of the mod cons to make your own meals if you want to. Being Australian we particulaly liked that it had channel 7 & channel 9 TV so we could watch the news etc from home. Good cool airconditioning for the summer too.

A great experience!!!All starts with excellent communication between the owners, very fast, conscise and informative. The place is perfect for people travelling in couple (or with kids) or 3 adults which was our case. Great compromise for those who don't like the impersonal caracter of tiny hotel rooms. The flat is comfortable, spacious (60sq.m), state of art furnished (including kithcen), very welcome, cosy and clean. What you see on pictures is what you really get once arrived at the place! I can still remember the smell of the towels and the sheets. Very calm, great location, about 2 mins walk from beach, 15 mins walking to Kuta square and quite far away from the bars and clubs - depends what you like, we did not miss the city centre mess(however a taxi will take you there for almost nothing). Nice terrace to have your breakfast at. You are free to use the Hotel's pool. Holiday place which will make you forget about your own home that you won't miss at all. The flat is cleaned every 4 days, Rika is of great help, all requests are answered immediately.Air con works great. It really was a perfect place to stay, I do not hesitate to recomend it to anybody, it's worth every €/£/$ you pay. Staying there you got that something you would never get elsewhere. We miss the flat a lot and if ever go back to Bali will stay there again.Can not think of anythink negative.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt im Apartment in Tuban.
Es ist sehr freundlich und warm eingerichtet. Das Apartment hat jeglichen Komfort den man sich wünschen kann. Es war immer sauber, die Minibar war immer gefüllt und wir hatten immer das Gefühl als wären wir Zuhause.

Die Lage des Apartments ist nahezu perfekt.
Der Flughafen ist 5 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, da haben wir uns schon ein wenig gewundert das es super ruhig war. Man hat nichts vom Fluglärm mitbekommen.
Der Strand und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nicht weit entfernt.
Dieses Apartment ist mit einem 5 Sterne Hotel gleichzusetzen.
Wir können nur jedem empfehlen sich dieses Apartment für einen Urlaub zu sichern. Wir waren begeistert und werden bestimmt wiederkommen.

It´s like staying in a 5 Starhotel, with more pivacy combined with the comfort of having your own kitchen! I was surprised how quiet it was, though so close to the airport and busy streets of Kuta! Most comfortable bed I ever slept in! We just had a perfekt stay!

It was a wonderful time for my husband and I on this holiday in Bali. We enjoyed very much with the stay at your luxury apartment in ASTON KUTA.
We felt very good with the warm welcome from Ms. RIKA and the convenience of the apartment (fully equipped & furnished). I love cooking; I found it's really convenient for me because there is almost everything in the kitchen ready for me.
My husband and I would love to go back there again for the next holiday.

Vanaf 28 September tot en met 21 October 2009 verbleven wij als long stayers in dit apartement. Een bijzondere ervaring, na voorheen vele jaren in diverse hotels onze Bali-vakanties te hebben doorgebracht, is het verblijf in apartement E205. Op een 200 stappen van het strand, ligt het Hotel en Residence Aston Kuta. Via het strand, loop je in een kwartiertje naar het hart van Kuta (CentrO-Mall).
In dit hotel bevindt zich het volledig selfsup-porting en uiterst luxe apartement.De inrichting is zeer fraai,comfortabel en van alle gemakken voorzien. De vriendelijke gastvrouw Rika is via de aanwezige mobiele telefoon steeds bereikbaar. Een ideale situatie is het om -indien gewenst- van de door het hotel geboden faciliteiten gebruik te kunnen maken. Een bijzonder mooi, groot en goed verzorgd zwembad maakt daarvan deel uit. Het wellness deel in het hotel bestaat uit een fitness-ruimte en spafaciliteiten. In het restaurant zijn de nassi campur bali en espresso/capucino zeker aan te bevelen. De medewerkers stralen een en al vriendelijkheid uit Het apartement is een aanrader voor de vakantieganger die prijs stelt op luxe en comfort!

Alex and Rika, have arranged all very well, which made our stay very convenient right from arrival to the end. The Apartment is nicely set up with good quality furniture, tv and kitchen faclities. The balcony is a good spot to relax and drink your bintang in the afternoon sun. The hotel has a good sized pool with bar. Unfortunately not all was open yet, but this will be coming soon as the hotel just opened. The area is not that great however on walking distance lies Kuta beach where the beach is better quality. There is a number of decent bars and restaurants close by. It is much quieter than the too busy streets of Kuta or Legian. We made it our home for about a week and enjoyed the self-catering, the space and the island-living.

The 4 mums from Perth had a great time, experienced an earthquake for the first and it was scary but an experience.
The apartment was absolutley devine. It was exactly what you would want when you are on holidays, Rika was exceptional and was on call whenever we needed her, the housemaid was thorough and clean. We had a few dramas with the toilet but was looked at and fixed with in minutes very fast and supportive services were given by the staff of the hotel.
We can not thank you enough for making the apartment meet our needs with putting in another bed for us.
The best thing about our stay at the hotel were the staff, they are so friendly and very passioinate about there work. I can not say we had a bad experience while we were in Bali it was an excellent experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone I hear of going accross and we would definately try and book for when we return.

The apartment was clean and spacious with all necessary facilities provided.
Staff were friendly and the manager (Rika) was extremely helpful. Any
questions or queries were answered straight away.
Location was close to central Kuta (main street).
We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Bali
