CorkOur Hols in la La Cala
Left on 09/04/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Back after another great holiday in La Cala, I have been going to this area for over 7 years staying in different apartments looking for the place that is just right and believe I found it in your apartment.
Perfect location handy to everything but yet luxurious and quiet.
We are really not beach people so the great pool area is just perfect.
This was our 3rd year in your apartment and I had totally forgot how to relax again but two days in La Cala resolved it.
Spent a lot of hot afternoons sitting on your balcony reading with a glass of white , while both kids in each bedroom on their iPads ( great advantage of having the internet)' husband watching 70 reruns on the tv , bliss.
It really is my little bit of paradise.
What can I say about the village which is only a stones step away , it is great has everything you need but you will not see any gangs partying perfect for kids.
Again thanks for sharing your great apartment with us.
Roll on July 2013.

La Cala de Mijas is a 30 minute drive from Malaga airport and has a small village atmosphere unlike other surrounding resorts on the costa del sol.The apartment is easily found on the La Noria Golf complex. It has everything you need on your holiday and more, loads of space, two great verandahs for relaxing and eating lunch el fresco. As we went with friends we liked the fact the rooms were quite far apart from each other and also the fact we could both have seperate bathrooms. The kitchen is very modern and we ate in a couple of nights getting some yummy ribs from the local supermarket for £5 that fed x4!(use The Mercado-its nicer and a better range) and we also ate out. Within easy walking distance is everything you need, we ate at The Wok restaurant at the end of the road, its quite new and was well worth the 13 euros for a buffett. It is not all chinese either, they have steak, chicken, vegetables that you cab watch the chef prepare...we also ate twice at El Corralio- it is a superb restaurant and the family are so plerasant and really wantb you too enjoy your time there. The seafood Paella is a must as is the Rosada a la plancha. It is safe and easy to get from the apartment to the village, it takes approx 10minutes. The market on Wednesday and Saturday is also a 5 min walk from the apartment. The gardens within the apartment complex are very well aintained and the pool area was deserted when we were there but we still enjoyed sitting on the loungers catching some rays. We will definately be going back to La Cala and will be booking this apartment again as it had everything we could have asked for.

Milton Keynes, United KingdomWonderful Relaxing Holiday
Left on 09/25/2011 for a stay in September 2011
My partner and I have just come back from two wonderful relaxing weeks based in Noriazul La Noria La Cala De Mijas. The apartment is perfect for a couple of weeks away, with a large double balcony overlooking pretty well kept gardens. The shared swimming pool is large, clean and was hardly used by anyone else during our stay - we were often the only people using it and there were never more than half a dozen others at any single time.
The apartment block is very quiet and only a five minute stroll away from the town. It is just a couple more minutes to the beaches (should you ever need the beaches that is, as the pool is sooo good). As with most of the Costa Del Sol, there has been a lot of unsympathetic development but La Cala seems less affected than most - and the very long beach is clean, sandy and has many showers.
There are a lot of restaurants in La Cala - enough to suit all tastes and wallets. If you don't fancy eating out, there are two supermarkets to choose from. The nearest, which is in the centre of town, is about a ten minute walk from the apartment. Prices are generally not too dissimilar to those in the UK. If you can’t do a holiday without having some retail therapy, there is a very large mall (Miramar) about ten minutes drive away.
We hired a car for the duration of our stay. This is not needed if you are content to enjoy the delights of La Cala alone. However, there are some extremely beautiful villages / towns and stunning vistas to be seen if you are prepared to venture in land. Driving in the region is not too demanding although Spanish driving habits on twisting mountain roads can occasionally cause a sharp intake of breath.
All in all a great holiday and many thanks to Ken, the apartment owner who was always helpful and quick to respond - from our first enquiry about the property all the way through to very quickly sorting out a change of sheets when the cleaner forgot to leave some out for us. If you should choose to book this property following this review I hope you have as nice a time in La Cala as we did. -

DublinBeautiful apartment in perfect location
Left on 08/29/2011 for a stay in August 2011
We stayed for 12 nights in august with our three young children and had a wonderful time. The apartment is beautiful, like a home from home, with everything you could wish for and the owners are a pleasure to deal with. The village of La Cala is right on your doorstep with lots of restaurants and a lovely beach. A perfect setting for a family holiday and we can't wait to go back.

Sheffield, United KingdomLovely apartment, ideal for young families
Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The apartment was easy to get to from Malaga airport (Ken recommended one of his friends to pick us up from the airport, at a cost of about 30 euros). The owner Ken was fantastic to deal with as there were a few little problems along the way. The apartment, gardens and pool were all immaculate, well presented and extremely clean and were the best thing about the holiday. The modern kitchen had everything that you needed (and more!) for self-catering. Though we did find the nearest supermarket a bit of a walk (15 mins each way). The double balcony was lovely. Unfortunately I didn't realise that the patio doors locked behind you so do beware! The apartment was like a home from home with lots of books, dvds and homely touches. Unfortunately the single bed was a little high for our 3 year old who kept falling out of bed in the middle of the night! The town was OK but nothing special with a long sandy beach. We didn't eat out particularly well there but maybe we just went to the wrong places (avoid the British sounding tapas bar which was horrible!) The location wasn't fantastic: to get into town you have to cross some derelict land, a busy road and walk under a fly-over, so we had the best times just hanging out at the lovely pool area which, because we were there early in the season (end May) we had practically to ourselves. We found the price of the apartment good value, and had a relaxing stay.

Owner
Sarah- Glad you enjoyed apartment and complex.
La Cala has some lovely restaurants to choice from they range from high end Mijas Playa and El Gusto to chiringuito's which serve fish grilled on the beach. There is also Thai, Chinese, Italian and one of our favourites La Cala Grill it’s a shame that you did not get to at least one of these - the apartment does have details of these restaurants in a booklet.
The land you describe as derelict land is in fact the car park for the village and is also used on Wednesday and Saturday mornings for the local market. It is also used as the venue for the Feria. The roads (2) that have to be crossed to reach the Village have zebra crossings and have never been a problem to cross as they are at a roundabout.
Most patio doors in Spain have no opening on outside as a security feature- The local key holder arrived within a short time to rescue you.
Hope you come back to apartment and get to some nice restaurants.

londonFabulous Time in La Noria La Cala De Mijas
Left on 10/11/2010 for a stay in August 2010
We arrived at the apartment and were greeted by a complementary bottle of Cava. The apartment was delightful. Clean spacious with excellent facilities. The en suite bathroom in the master bedroom was great especially with the 5 of us(three children). Air conditioning was easy to use, great spec kitchen and spacious living room. Wireless internet worked great. The children really loved their stay here, after a long day at the beach the apartment and whole complex was a peaceful contrast which was just what was needed. If you wanted a dip in the pool it was 50 meters away and maintained to the highest standards. Shopping for supplies was easy as the supermarket was a mere 10 minutes down the road. In fact getting to the centre of town and to the beach was simple and convenient. The whole stay was made all the easier as Ken the owner was very helpful in helping us organise our trip. After our stay at La Noria we went for another week further up the coast but we would have preferred to stay at La Noria. I would definitely recommend the apartment to anyone who wants a quiet, peaceful place with excellent facilities not too far away from the madding crowd.
