BloomingtonBest price, privacy, and location
Left on 01/08/2013 for a stay in January 2013
I needed some privacy, quiet, and isolation to focus on writing a screenplay, and that is exactly what I got. This fully-furnished guest house features necessities and comforts, and was serviced by Jeff and Laurie who were both accommodating and unobtrusive. The location does not have much in the ways of restaurants or shopping, but if you're looking for those things, LaCrosse is only a few minutes away. And for the amount of space and accommodation, the price can't be beat.
I will definitely be back, and soon. -

MinneapolisExactly What We Needed!
Left on 12/01/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The cabin is absolutely beautiful. We stayed for two nights and would definitely stay again! Laurie and Jeff provided enough firewood to heat the cabin for our entire stay. Chris and I spent hours sitting in front of the fire place as well as driving a short 5-6miles down the road to the beautiful state park! The overlook from the state park was more than I could have hoped for. We could see we're the river began splitting and the cars looked tiny from how high up we were. The kitchen of the cabin is well stocked for any meal needs. We made steaks and burgers :) I felt I also had privacy during my stay, which we appreciated, although Laurie and Jeff were always available when we had questions or needed anything. The cabin was nice for a couples weekend, but there is enough space for a family of 4. Although Internet was only available in a portion of the cabin, near the window, it was good to be unplugged from the world for awhile. The thing I loved the most about staying at this cabin was the view from the front door on a clear night. The stars looked close enough to touch and the silence was incredible. I encourage you to take a trip out and enjoy an unforgettable weekend!!!

Wausau, WisconsinA great alternative to a traditional hotel stay.
Left on 11/02/2012 for a stay in October 2012
I was not sure what to expect when I booked this guesthouse. After talking to the owner, I was impressed with how friendly and laid back this couple seemed. I traveled with my three children (ages 6, 9, and 15) and their father. We travel a lot for sports, and it is difficult to find a hotel room that is accomodates all us at a reasonable rate. This trip we had a competition in La Crosse which was just under a 15 minute drive from here. So, we were anxious to give this a try. I must be honest, when we pulled up, it looked a little sketchy. The land itself is absolutely stunning, as is the owners residence and we were hoping their house was the one we were staying in! However, when we stepped inside the guesthouse we were pleasantly surprised by the up-to-date appliances and spaciousness of the accomodations! The place had everything you could possibly need, and very high quality extras were provided (Soap, shampoo, awesome towels, tea.). My teenager daughter feel in love with the abundance of books they had in every room! It was like a giant library, and she stayed up late reading. My little ones were obviously happy they had satellite TV and there were several games provided. They were initially disappointed we weren't staying at a hotel since the like swimming and running the hallways. We were happy to find there was a "Kwik Trip" that has a casual restuarant inside for easy access to supplies we forgot. However, there is not much more in the immediate area for restaurants or things to do. Overall, we absolutely loved the stay. We are more used to "convenience stays" where there are restuarants or shopping centers in the immediate area, but we would definitely stay here again.

This 2 BR place was perfect for us (2 couples hiking Minnesota State Parks). Great bargain! It was decorated very nicely inside. We loved the LR and kitchen area. Great TV reception. We're able to make our own supper and breakfast there. Beautiful and peaceful spot in the country. Owners were very kind to give us directions to a nearby state park.

South St. Paul MNGreat Stay!
Left on 09/25/2012 for a stay in September 2012
My husband & I were looking for hotels in either Winona or La Crosse, and he came upon this place, and it sounded neat. We are always up for something different, and we wanted something quiet & relaxing, after a year of marriage & remodeling a house for 8 months straight! It was way better than a hotel, since it was fully ours, and had direct tv, a full kitchen, all towels/linens (softer than hotels!) and we just came & went as we pleased. We had a short scenic drive to Winona or La Crosse, to spend the day checking out these cute towns. It was a great getaway from our busy city lives! Thanks Laurie & Jeff!
