The villa is located inside the Recreo Resort, near the city of La Cruz in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica only 1 hour 15 minutes from the Liberia airport overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Bahia Salinas . Isla Bolaos National Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes from Recreo in Bahia Salinas where it was established to protect nesting sites for Brown Pelicans and Magnificent Frigate birds and is a favorite spot for bird enthusiasts. Recreo is located just 20 minutes from the Nicaraguan border and day or overnight trips to Granada or San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua are popular. Rincon de la Vieja Volcano is also a popular day trip from Recreo. At this National Park, guests can observe evidence of the country's volcanic activity: mud baths, geysers, caverns, natural saunas, steaming baths and hot water lagoons. Guests will find activities ranging from canopy and zipline tours, white water rafting, horseback riding to the waterfalls, hiking, rock climbing and relaxing in the thermal waters and healing mud.

DINING OPTIONS

If guests would like to purchase their own groceries, there is a grocery store on the way to recreo in Liberia and another in La Cruz which is also on the way about 25 minutes from recreo. If you are renting a car, it would be easy to stop along the way and stock up, otherwise, if you are using our transportation, your driver could stop on the way for no additional cost. Transfers to La Cruz once guests are at recreo are $50 round trip. We could also stock the groceries for you for a $40 per adult per day fee. There are a few local options for dining out serving fresh Costa Rican specialties all within 10 minutes of the villas including open air restaurants and a seafood bar and grill.

Guests who want to enjoy every minute of their vacation, may choose to add a private cook and grocery stocking services to their experience (not available in the green season). This service includes a private cook, pre-arrival menu planning, 3 personalized meals per day, beverages, one prepared snack and self-serve snacks. Additional Location Information

Recreo is located 1.5 hours from the Liberia International Airport. For guests not renting a car, transportation services are available for an additional fee and include round trip transfers from the Liberia and San Jose International Airports. While onsite, guests may choose to rent a private electric golf cart (not available in the green season) to explore the estate and the surrounding area and beaches.

Transportation is not included. Airport transfers are $50 per person one way or $100 round-trip. Transportation costs can be discounted 50% for more than 4 people in one transportation route.
