Description from the owner

Our spacious and elegant 3 bedroom villa is one of 16 properties that make up Residence Indigo - a private ‘hameau’ on the edge of the authentic Provencal village of La Garde Freinet. Just inland from the Golfe de St.Tropez, La Garde Freinet is located in the breathtaking Massif des Maures. A paradise for nature lovers and jet setters alike.

    Additional Location Information

There’s plenty to do around the village including some great nature trail walks in the forest. Other activities like golf and larger scale fun for children include water parks, go-karting, paint balling and pony riding. All available locally. Check with the English speaking tourist office conveniently located on the way into the village. Also, take a look at the village tourist office website for a calendar of events during your stay.

The village has all the essential shops you’ll need including butchers, general stores and boulangeries. It is a ‘working’ village so there’s also a bank, doctor and dentist (should you need them) a municipal swimming pool - even a yoga class in the village hall!

The village landmark – the cross that overlooks La Garde Freinet – can be reached up a winding pathway through the trees. Once there, you are a few hundred metres away from the ruins of an old Saracen fortress originally built to guard the pass between the hills.

So much on the doorstep but it’s only 20 minutes to the coast and the sun-drenched sandy beaches!
From the more family oriented beaches around Gigaro, La Croix Valmer and towards Cavalaire to the more famous beaches like Pampelonne near St.Tropez, you have lots of choice. There are quieter stretches, beach clubs and restaurants and all the beach activities you would expect from a world class resort area for example para-gliding, pedalos, wind surfing and jet skis.

The beauty of our location is that it’s just a short drive from the uber-chic shops, busy port area and colourful nightlife of ever popular St.Tropez - but it doesn’t take long to get back to the tranquillity of the village. In other words the best of both worlds.

La Garde Freinet is a great place to visit at any time of year. The long summer months of July and August are hot, hot, hot and for those without school holidays to worry about, June and September are magical. The spring and autumn months are a perfect time to visit and enjoy the great outdoors.

The village is also only two and a half hours from the ski slopes at the western side of the Pre Alpes du Sud. Some local residents ski from November through to the end of April.
