Salt Water is a great beach home that makes the most of seamless indoor/outdoor living in La Jolla Shores. If your vision of a beach home includes eating breakfast in a sunny and private courtyard, a short stroll to the warm sand and cool Pacific and walking home via the gourmet market, then Salt Water is your holiday destination.

From the crisp seaside colors to the stainless steel countertops we're told that this house succeeded in blending contemporary design with the warmth and openness of a sunny seaside retreat. All the modern conveniences of a nicely appointed home we offer to you.

While the inside of the house is very co...mfortable by itself, we created a clean outdoor living space, allowing you to make the most of Southern California's fantastic weather.

The nicely landscaped front yard is secure and gated, and includes a kid's teeter-totter and grassy area perfect for fun in the sun.

Salt Water has 3 bedrooms, with comfortable sleeping for 8 people. The master bedroom has a king size bed with private bathroom, beautiful French doors that open to the center courtyard, walk-in closet and television with full cable, DVD and stereo. The second bedroom has a queen size bed with spacious closet and desk area. The third bedroom, "Kid's Room" has two sets of twin bunk beds and large closet all very light and bright. The second bathroom has lots of counter space, a large bathtub and shower and specialty tile flooring. All linens (sheets, pillows, blankets, bath towels, beach towels) are provided.

If your kids love to roll in the sand there is an outdoor hot and cold shower that is very private. This makes for easy clean up after a long day at the beach. After spending an evening enjoying the peace of sitting in the living room with vaulted ceiling and listening to music coming from 8 speakers (living room, kitchen, courtyard) while playing games with all the doors open and kids running everywhere, you will realize how truly wonderful this house is for families. If the weather cools down enough to light the wood burning fireplace then it's just a bonus to the already relaxing atmosphere. The open living dinning space offers a large screen television with "Bose" surround sound, foosball table, a long dining table with seating for 8 next to a large sunny window overlooking the front garden.

The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, a gas cook top with convection oven and a separate second oven if needed, microwave, and dishwasher of full size. The cabinets and stainless counter tops create more room than you will know what to do with. There is also a center island with bar stools perfect for visiting the cook while not getting in the way. You will be pleased with the abundance of quality dishes, glassware, utensils, as well as all kitchen supplies and small appliances necessary to prepare any meal. There is also a breakfast table in the kitchen area with seating for 4.

Off the master bedroom is a door to the "back patio". In this red bricked patio there are two free standing buildings one is an office and the second is a tool shed. The office has two glass French doors looking onto the patio, a desk and chair, high-speed internet, phone and fax thus allowing the working vacationer to "check-in" without background noises or distraction.

We also provide adult size beach cruiser bicycles, boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler so you can enjoy the area the way we locals do. For families with small children, we provide a high chair and pak-n-play crib. Upon request we can also provide additional baby items such as a full size crib, jogging stroller, bed rails, noise monitor, etc.

In addition, we offer full concierge services. You can order discounted attraction tickets, food and dairy products to be delivered to the home prior to your arrival.Room DescriptionBedroom 1 has 1 King

  Disappointing in many ways

  The home has great potential but was in generally poor condition upon arrival. We selected the home for it's location, floor plan and particularly the "can-do" spirit of the Leigh and particulary Megan to meet our need for a single level home. The furnishings are very sparse, and the limited furniture is old and in poor condition. There was a new large screen flat tv in the living room however.
  
  Problems were numerous and significant upon arrival. There was evidence of mouse activity found the first day, and within a few days, crickets were found throughout the home, in a bed, and then a lizard entered the house through the garage. There are no wall covering on the living room windows which compromised privacy and a sense of security.
  There were many deficiencies in the home itself, but Megan, the Operations Manager made every effort to make things right and we were appreciative of her efforts.
  
  This was to be an extended stay which we had pre-paid but felt it was unsuitable as a vacation home, given the presence of pest/wildlife within the home and numerous other issues. We had some difficulties regarding the lease, but mgmt. was ultimately responsive and we relocated for the second half of our stay. We were refunded the remaining rental and cleaning fees which we felt was fair and appropriate.

  We are so sorry to hear that our Salt Water property was not the right fit for your needs. Being in such a beautiful location, this home makes for seamless indoor/outdoor living. We have replaced all of the outdoor patio cushions to maximize comfort while enjoying San Diego's weather.
  
  As soon as we were notified about there being evidence of pests, we immediately responded by cleaning the home again, removing items that were requested to be taken out, and re-washing all of the linens and towels throughout the home. The garage was specifically cleaned out to provide an additional parking space and I can assure you that the lizard's presence was a first for us. We have taken every precaution to prevent a surprising occurrence like this in the future.
  
  One of the great features about this home is its spacious outdoor spaces and yard- providing privacy, while still allowing windows to be bright and open. As requested, additional blinds were installed in the Master Bedroom.
  
  Again, we are sorry to hear that this home was not the right vacation home for your needs, and hope that you enjoyed the remainder of your stay.

  Southern California Rental was amazeing and very professional. They replied our e-mails very promptly and whenever we had a questions or issues about the property they attended to our needs as soon as we contacted them. The home was just perfect. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The decor was superb and whatever we needed we could find. The home is filled with sunlight during the day and perfect for gatherings. Since we were there during the winter and we experienced unusual cold weather the central heating sistem did not keep the house as warm as we would have liked, but the owner as well as the Rental Company did whatever was possible to fix the problem. The location could not be better. It was blocks from the beach and from local stores. If we go back to San Diego we will most definetly stay again at Sal Water!

  Cute House - We really enjoyed our stay!

  We stayed at Salt Water in February of 2010 with our two young boys (ages 3 and almost 5). The house was great and works well for a family (i.e., 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, plenty of space for everyone, laundry room, nice kitchen, TV's with DVD players, etc.). Our boys really liked the rooms with two bunk beds. The inner court year with BBQ was also nice.
  
  The house is well located near the La Jolla Shores beach and other local beaches. It is short driving distances to grocery stores like Whole Foods.
  
  We would definitely stay at Salt Water again in the future.

  A Lovely Home Away From Home

  Comfortable, spacious, sunny, great interior courtyard. Even though it's on a main street, it's set back -- totally private and quiet. Has amenities in abundance, bicycles, barbecue, well-appointed kitchen, working fireplace, and all the essentials required for a thoroghly enjoyable vacation.
  
  Bedrooms and bathrooms are in excellent shape, but
  we could have used a larger, more comfortable living room couch.
