La Jolla Mar is located less than three blocks to the locally renowned Marine Street Beach and a short walk to the world-famous La Jolla Village. Whether it's surfing, beachcombing and whale watching or antiquing, golfing and relaxing, The La Jolla Mar offers you the ideal base for all of these activities.

When you arrive at La Jolla Mar the first thing you will do is walk up to the front p...orch and pause before you walk into the home to take in the beautifully landscaped front yard and salty ocean air. Then as you enter the house you will feel right at home with the cozy furnishings and comfortable atmosphere of the house. This home has all the amenities you will need to enjoy and wonderful vacation at the beach.

The home is fully equipped and offers comfortable furnishings and amenities; the formal living room has comfortable couches, working fireplace, and a flat screen television with surround sound audio system, full cable channels and both a VCR and DVD player. The living room also has a large windows facing west where you can sit in the warm afternoon sunlight. Whether you are enjoying the California weather, the crackle of the fireplace or a great movie on TV, this living room will be a place your family will be able to create long lasting memories of a great vacation.

The dining room features a formal eating area with seating for up to eight. This is the perfect place to enjoy the morning paper and a cup of coffee or a homemade dinner with friends or family. French doors open from the hall way creating a comfortable and open space.

The great room includes a spacious kitchen with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances including double oven, side by side refrigerator, dishwasher and range top. The kitchen also has an amazing center island, breakfast nook with seating for 6, lots of counter space and all the appliances you will need to cook your favorite meals. The kitchen area is open to the family room area which has a large gas fireplace, 42 inch flat screen television with surround sound audio system, full cable channels and both a VCR and DVD player, beautiful couch and seating area for you to relax and spend time with your friends and family. The great room has French doors that open up to the beautiful and lush back patio area.

This home has 3 bedrooms and a total of 4 beds with sleeping space for up to 8 people. The master bedroom has a luxurious king size bed, television with full cable channels, gas fireplace, a private bathroom with dual sink and oversized Jacuzzi bathtub. The second and third bedrooms both have queen beds, spacious closets, bright and sunny windows and access to the hallway. In the living room downstairs, the couch can be pulled out into a bed to create additional sleeping space for any extra guests.

In your private courtyard, you are able to enjoy an intimate evening with family and friends under the sparkling stars. The yard area includes outdoor dining table and chairs, built in gas BBQ, tranquil water fountain and beautiful and lush landscaping and flowers.

A full-size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience off the hallway near the bedrooms upstairs. This home also comes complete with off street parking for one car in the garage. This home has forced air heating and air conditioning.

We also provide adult size beach cruiser bicycles, boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler so you can enjoy the area the way we locals do. For families with small children, we provide a high chair and pak-n-play crib.   We found this home to a great place for us to stay with friends! It would also be great for families as there were many items for children to use at the beach, etc.
  Everything was in perfect working order and very clean. The location was very convenient to restaurants and shops and yet walkable to the beach.
  The back patio would have been a great pace to linger, but we were too busy out and about. Perhaps next time we will be able to stay longer.

  We stayed for a month Nov/Dec 2012 in this lovely home. In the property description it says you will feel at home the moment you enter and that is totally true. In fact the property details tell you exactly what you will get. It is completely as advertised. The kitchen was the best equipped of any rental we've ever had. The best part was everything was new or nearly new and so much better quality than your standard vacation rentals. It was so well equipped i was able to make Thanksgiving dinner. Everything I needed was right there.
  There's a lovely and very private courtyard off the family room. We loved the location as well. It's on a quiet street but everything is an easy walk. Von's Jonathon's Market and BevMo are 3 to 4 blocks away. We started everyday with a leisurely stroll to the beach walkway or to the downtown village. There are so many good restaurants within walking distance as well. We rented a car but only used it to go into San Diego.
  Everything about this home was extremely comfortable and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Truly a great find and a real Home away from Home.
  I almost didn't do this review as I don't want too many people to find La Jolla Mar and ruin it before we can return...

  Great choice in La Jolla

  The home is conveniently located in La Jolla, and it's easy to walk to
  downtown and services like groceries. Even an early morning stroll
  to Starbucks was a pleasure. We liked the location because of the
  many restaurants and easy access to what we wanted to see.
  
  Parking on the street can be challenging, but there is a garage--
  though the remote opener did not work during our stay. We had to
  get out of the car and push the button, a minor inconvenience.
  
  The closets are very generous, and the bathrooms, pleasant and up-
  to-date. A carpet in the master bedroom would have been nice

  Nice house bad neighbors

  The house is great. However the neighbors were not. They were loud late and said
  horrible things to my children. Additionally the recycling being in the alley was not
  ideal as people went through it in the middle of the night looking for returnables.
  Again loud late.
  House has lovely amenities. Great sheets and plenty of towels for a family of 6. Also
  nicely beach appointed and great location. Just bad timing with next door for us.

  Great house & location, just needed some attention to detail

  We stayed in May, 2009. It was our second time there in the past 12 months. This is a beautiful home, but this time we noticed a little wear and tear and some obvious things missing. For example, the carpets really could have used a cleaning. There were no wastebaskets in 2 of the bathrooms. No soap in the entire house, nor tissues nor toilet paper... made us wonder- did the last tenant clean them out? Also, for mild May weather, it got quite warm upstairs when we closed the windows at night (Lots of traffic/garbage truck activity in early AM made keeping them open a poor option also). On the bright side, the house is roomy with great patios and in a great location... so much to like that despite the drawbacks mentioned we'll probably stay again sometime!
