Bainbridge IslandPerfection in a bungalow!
Left on 05/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Perfection in a bungalow! We can't believe our good fortune in finding this property for a 5-night stay - was absolutely adorable, completely comfortable, thoroughly equipped, and the staff were responsive as well as effective (even at 7am!) in handling a problem we encountered with the wifi. We hesitate to recommend this property as highly as it deserves because we want it to be available when we can return, but honestly - if you get a chance to stay here, you ought to!

The house is exactly as pictured on the websight. Very clean, bright, and plenty of room for our two very young children (ages three and one) to run around. The wagon came in handy for the short walk to the beach. This really is a great rental. To be totally honest, I need to write about our one disapointment... I am sure the neighborhood is normally very quiet, but there was road construction during our stay. I wish that we had been made aware of this before our arrival. Our children nap during the day and we were not able to have the windows open during that time. It got pretty toasty since there is no aC. We would definitely stay here again.

Seattle50's home too close to busy arterial
Left on 01/02/2012 for a stay in December 2011
A home 2 blocks from a nice beach but the road noise was a real negative. Company did not reveal how close it was to a busy road. Living room furniture needs upgrading - plastic sofa- & a head board is lacking in master bedroom on a bed facing a window. Any child could go right through the window if he/she was playing on the bed!
Kitchen was large w/ all utensils & a large backyard & grill.
10:00 am check-out is too early & the $75.00 fee for staying till noon is just greedy.
Would not return -

New YorkFelt right at home...
Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in January 2011
My husband I rented this house for two weeks in January. Coming from the Northeast, it was a wonderful get away with temps in the 60'sand 70's throughout our stay.
The house is furnished comfortably if basic (think Ikea) and it is well equipped, i.e. kitchen equipment, bbq, bikes, washer/dryer, etc. The location is in a residential neighborhood, not on a main street and about 2 blocks from the beach. One caution I would mention is that the street the house is on leads to the entrance of the beach parking lot so there is regular traffic. I suspect in the summer, there might be alot of traffic.
"Downtown", i.e. Prospect St., is about a 10 minute drive which we liked because it was convenient but puts you away from the hussle and bussle. There are restaurants within walking distance of the house although the more upscale restaurants are in town.
The rental company was very helpful during the selection process (and thankfully pointed out that if you rent a house up in the hills, it makes biking and going for walks difficult) and accomodated an early check in and late check out and helped with questions about nearby activities and facilities. One note re the pictures of the property, I think they are pretty accurate but in order to get as much of each room in the picture, I think they used a lens that makes the rooms look a bit larger than they actually are.
One final note, as is common in a residential neighborhood, there is a basketball player and hoop next door so there is some practicing going on each day. Not really a bother to us but FYI. -

We enjoyed staying at Sand Patch One. The house was very well appointed,
clean and roomy and very close to the beach. My children enjoyed the front
and back yards and the bikes were a bonus.
The only issue was the checking out policy. We were required to strip the
beds/ all linens and "clean" prior to the cleaning crews arrival. After paying
"fees" (cleaning fee, insurance and such) out the nose I thought it
inappropriate to have to do this "pre-cleaning". I also didn't appreciate the
threat of yet another fee if I didn't comply to this check out policy.

Visiting California for Christmas was a great experience and one which certainly benefited from the home comforts provided at Sand Patch One. It was a home away from home and provided everything we needed for a truly memorable vacation.
Many Thanks

Munich, GermanyClose to beach wonderful located house with style and good price
Left on 05/20/2010 for a stay in February 2009
We came from Germany and had chosen Sand-Patch Two the year before as well. Due to the dates, we had chosen Sand-Patch One and Two (moved from one house over to the other) and loved both of them. Nice, clean, modern-styled furniture, nice garden, beautifully located.
To be honest, it was a dream to stay there. We loved every minute and the service of the rental agency was PERFECT. Whenever we will come back, we will try to stay there again.
We liked best the relaxes atmosphere, the arrangement of the room, the kitchen, the extra room that was created in the garage, the garden, the closeness to restaurant and beach.
Then real only set-back was the watering of the garden starting at 4 a.m. and that the running water could be heard in the house. But this was changed by the owner within one day.
As a family with one kid it was also so nice to have all the necessary items in the playground. -

We had a wonderful stay at Sand Patch One in La Jolla. Just blocks from the beach, and readily accessable to San Diego's many destinations, we were able to enjoy many memorable moments during our stay.
The house was clean and roomy. Having our groceries delivered prior to our arrival was an added bonus. As was the use of a jogging stroller, beach toys and other baby items for our child.
We look forward to making a return visit soon. -

Nottingham, UKWonderful La Jolla
Left on 05/14/2010 for a stay in July 2009
The location of Sandpatch is its biggest asset--it's a quick walk to La Jolla Shores beach and the kids loved boogie boarding there everyday.
It was a comfy base to stay and the kitchen was well equipped.Booking was easy by internet and the staff at SCVR were helpful without being pushy.
San Diego is a superb holiday destination, there is just soooo much to do. Sea World, the zoo, kayak tours of The Cove,Padres baseball,Coronado-- it's the first holiday I've lost weight on!Of course you could just chill at the beach but having come from the UK we packed in as much as we could!
La Jolla is very safe and upmarket, the downsides are the traffic if you don't go out early (thank goodness there is a car park space at the house)and it can get a bit hot inside with no aircon.Overall it is worth the financial outlay! -
Minneapolis, MNFabulous Beach Vacation - We'll Return Again Next Year
Left on 04/15/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Lovely little neighborhood. House is just blocks from the beach. Our 2-year-old loved the amazing playground on the beach. Avenida de la Playa has some great little restaurants. Osteria Romantica has incredible Italian food. Very easy to get everywhere in San Diego. I couldn't recommend this more highly. We'll definitely be back!!
