Walnut Creek, CA, United StatesOur Stay at the Tropical Paradise in La Jolla
Left on 04/23/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We had a wonderful stay at the Tropical Paradise in La Jolla. The facility was clean and comfortable and the location was wonderful. We loved the restaurants (The Promiscuous Fork) and the proximity to the beach. We were also very pleased with the fact that this was a pet friendly property and was well maintained!
The only minor issue we experienced was ants in the kitchen. We did not use the jacuzzi so have no comment on that amenity.
Thanks for a wonderful stay and we will definitely rent through you guys again! -

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property managers were very attentive to our needs and the location is perfect for us. We travel with our dog and ot was nice because of the enclosed yard. The hot tub was also a nice feature although we did not use it that much. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans etc The neighborhood is very friendly and walking distance to shopping etc. the info on the Internet site was true to form and this will certainly be a place that we would return to.

I don't think I would describe this as a 'tropical paradise' except for the small front yard. Instead I would say, 'nice cabin'. Half of it seems to have been remodeled to look vaguely Balinese but not the other half. The pictures online are much better than the actual house. Having said all of that, I would stay there again. It's roomy and in a great location!

We really enjoyed staying here. It was very comfortable for my husband and myself and my mother in law. We were delighted to find a king sized bed which is what we are accostomed to. The location was wonderful. We loved going down to beach to watch the surfers. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that the washer and dryer didn't work and that there was not air conditioning. I think most of the time it is not needed but on that particular week it reached over 100 degrees.

Was a little disappointed with the little things - like shower gel soap was empty in the bathroom, no extra pillows to be found, no knowledge that there was no A/C. Also even though we were quiet after 9 pm, the neighbors were not. Since we had to leave windows open, they kept us up quite late banging around in their kitchen and drinking. Overall, it was a nice stay but the above things were a bit distracting from that.

This property is misleading. Furniture worn, many electical outlets do not work, toilet leaks water, shower in one bath room poor hot water flow, hot tub next to garbage cans.

The little house was perfect for what we needed, were in town for work and a wedding. The house wasn't very clean, looked like a very swift minor cleaning, not one intended for new guests. The patio upon entering looked like it hadn't been swept in months, plants were dry and mostly dead, toothpaste on the wall in the bathroom... I swept in and out, watered and deadheaded plants before the rest of our party arrived. 2 arrived 3 days ahead for work. There was only one washcloth and two towels for a week stay? no rug to step out of the shower on? Nothing to wipe the counters or to run a load of dishes? yet you asked that dishes be clean when we vacated, we removed them from the dishwasher and hand washed before we left. Lot's of the dishes have chips and cracks I have rentals in Colorado, maybe it's regional as to what is provided to make a guests stay exceptional? Overall was a great spot but someone needs to pay more attention to detail to provide guests with a better quality stay.

Upon receiving this review, we inspected the house and found many more towels and washcloths in a closet that unfortunately, these guests never found. As a result, we have moved these to a more obvious location to insure that future guests can find them when needed. In addition, there were a few dishes which were chipped which have since been removed and replace. We appreciate the feedback from this guest as it provides us the opportunity to improve this property for future guests.

Left on 04/18/2012 for a stay in April 2012
My parents and my husband and I stayed at this cozy home for 10 days and had a wonderful time. The awesome vegetation around the house gives you extra joy including the hammock nestled in them. The house itself is spacious and has all the accommodations you need, just as if you were at home. The remodeled bathroom is a jewel in itself and let's not forget the brand-new hot tub that we enjoyed thoroughly. To top it off, the beach is really only a two-minute walk away, so you can easily take an early morning walk or enjoy the sunset after dinner. Hopefully we will be able to stay there again!

The location was wonderful but the property was a bit tired inside. There was a lack of cutlery and crockery and what plates and cups there was were chipped and cracked. The lack of heating in the bathrooms made them very cold and the towels remained damp. The garden space out front was lovely as was the hot tub.

My husband, daughter, grandson and I spent Thanksgiving week at this lovely home. We loved having the beach a block away. My sister lives in San Diego so we had Thanksgiving dinner at the house. The guys loved sitting out on the front patio visiting and talking to all the people that walked by. Of course the women were inside cooking!
It was a very very memorable Thanksgiving. Sadly for us our 10 year old dog who was with us passed away 2 weeks after we got home. We took many pictures of our family and Max while there. I will always have the wonderful memories of walking Max along the beautiful beach and watching the sunset.
We will most definitely be back to create some new memories!
Thank You,

We had an amazing time and the beach house was terrific. It was everything we could have hoped for. Perfect for a family and so much better than staying in a hotel. Being less than a 2 minute drive to the Cove and one block from the best surfing beach
in San Diego was ideal. We did not want to leave. The accommodations were perfect, with more than adequate kitchen space, hot tub, and we absolutely loved the front porch and hammock. 5 stars and we can’t wait to visit again. -

Wind and Sea beach is gorgeous and it's a 2 min walk to the beach from this home. We will be booking here again next year. Thanks for your sushi recommendation it was great! Till next year.

This quaint cottage just steps from the beach is a perfect vacation rental. For a family of five, which includes 3 young girls and a small dog there is ample room both indoors and out. Many hours were spent just relaxing on the patio enjoying the sea breeze and watching the locals stroll by. Stores and restaurants are nearby that we rarely needed to drive anywhere. This beautiful home has everything you need for a perfect day at the beach or a day at home. Definitely prefer this to a hotel. This is the most relaxing vacation we have had in years. Our family could not be happier. Would highly recommend this location and would love to return.

Los Angeles, CAIdeally located tropical themed house
Left on 05/22/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Stayed for the week in this cute little tropical themed house which is ideally located - lots of stuff within walking distance. The beach is literally a minute and a half of walking down street where you can watch the surfers out almost every day. My kids (14 & 11) loved the hot tub and the hammock - and the beds were very comfortable!. We did much park hopping which was all within a reasonable time driving - farthest was under 2 hours to Disney and Legoland was maybe 40 minutes the rest were within 10-15 minutes- SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Belmont Park (wave riders for those brave enough to try boogie boards or surfing!), Legoland and the adjacent new SeaLife Park is fun for kids 12 and younger, we also did the Disneyland and California Adventure Park which are adjacent to each other as well for kids all ages. If park hopping isn't your bag try to go into San Diego and get dessert at the Extraordinary Desserts - wow! Overall a nice experience and I would stay again.

We had never been to La Jolla before and decided realtively last minute to go there for spring break in March 2011. We searched for a house to rent as we have little kids (and it is much easier than staying at a hotel) and we found Seabreeze Vacation Rentals and this property. We took a chance and booked this house. Seabreeze was very easy to work with and responsive. Everything they promised happened as planned.
This is a great little beach house that did well for our family of 5 (3 young girls). The location is fantastic--just down the block from the Windandsea Beach (which is not a good beach for kids BTW, but extremely picturesque). There is only street parking which I was a bit nervous about but it never posed a problem during the week we were there. The house is well equipped and nicely maintained (these are very old beach houses so dont expect a brand new property). It is partially remodeled and has all the amenties you would need for a great stay--stocked kitchen, cable tv, wireless internet, beach towels and other linens etc... The front yard is fantastic--nice sitting area with a hammock. We didnt use the hot tub much as it is located in the very back of the property but if the kids were older we would have spent more time using it.
Overall, the descritpion of this house is very accurate and we were very pleased. All the action of downtown La Jolla (the village and the cove) is less than a mile drive away. Easy access to freeways etc... -

This was my second stay at this home with in a months time....Everything was as good as the first time if not better. We brought our bikes and were able to really enjoy the weather while we were there...stopping at gym, lunch and the beach almost daily. I will definately return again when the opportunity arises. I would recomend this home to anyone looking for a comfortable place to vacate.

Master bath shower filled with cob webs.
When we checked in the spa was warm and running. We never used the spa, however they mentioned if there was sand in the spa that we would charged $300. We did check the spa before we left when it was not running and there was sand inside of it. As mentioned, we never used the spa, but thought maybe someone else had access to the spa ~ possibly through the back gate? All in all we had a great stay and will be coming back soon.
