This home has nice spaces. The architecture is very pretty both inside and out. The outdoor patio is warm and pretty quiet. The kitchen and baths are recently renovated and nice. The house is clean and well maintained. What you need to consider before renting this home is your sensitivity to traffic noise. It is wild by our standards. The house sits on Torrey Pines and the traffic never stops. It made the living room unusable. Fortunately, there are many interior doors in this house and you can shut out the noisy parts of the house. We also found that running the fan on high or medium muffled the traffic noise.
Unlike other homes we rented, this one is minimally equipped and you will need to bring your own bath soap, hair dryer, tissue boxes, paper towels, salt and pepper and even ice. The ice maker in the fridge does not work. The house has wifi but it was frequently unavailable. The house probably needs an extender.
It is just a block to the village so you can walk everywhere including to La Jolla Shores. If you live in a city and are used to traffic, it will be fine. If not, you better choose another location. -

We had a wonderful time staying in this charming home and it was conveniently located to everything La Jolla Village has to offer. The home is clean and the amenities covered everything we needed. The proximity was perfect for walking to the village restaurants, coffee shops, stores and the Coastal Walk which is only a block from the house. We drove to the top of Mt. Soledad, watched the surfers at Windansea Beach, hiked trails in Torrey Pines Natural Preserve, visited the Birch aquarium at Scripps and the Torrey Pines Gliderport, and enjoyed shopping in the village. In San Diego proper, we ate spectacular Mexican food at the Mexican Café in Old Town, had Sunday brunch at Croce's in the Gaslamp district, and visited the amazing San Diego Zoo - go early! - (pandas were there as well as keepers doing foot washing of a 46 year old elephant). We biked around Coronado, visited the artists' bazaar in Balboa Park, and toured the historic footbridges of Bankers Hill. One of our favorite lunches was at Tin Fish, under the pier in Oceanside. We loved shopping at the Bazaar del Mundo in Old Town. All told, it was a spectacular vacation, a great way to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
