Conjure up images of a "fantasy island" escape vacation and that's what you'll get! Situated on 'El Mogote' (the peninsula) in the new private resort development of Paraiso del Mar, this 1,500 sq ft home is perfect for those who want to relax after a day of golf, tennis, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling or just shopping in town. When you arrive at the private dock from the airport, you'll be ferried to the "island" on an eco-friendly electric boat. Once there, the wonderful staff takes care of your luggage and delivers you to our home. Tile floors, colorful furniture and blankets, and bright walls welcomes you to Mexico!!! There i...s a king bed in the master bedroom with a large walk-in shower, and a queen in the second bedroom, which accesses the guest bathroom. In addition, there's a pull out sofa in the living area, a beautiful antique dining room set that accommodates up to 6, a breakfast bar for 5, a flat-screened TV and DVD player, and internet access. Conveniently located just steps (maybe a two-minute walk) from miles of private, sandy beaches, the property also includes a community pool (less than a minute's walk), tennis courts, and an 18-hole Arthur Hills-designed golf course. If you want a little variety, wander over to the condominiums and enjoy lunch by the pool, try breakfast or lunch at the Pro Shop before or after 18 holes of golf, or take the boat to town for dining at some of the best restaurants on the Baja! For added convenience the resort has kayaks and bikes, and our home also includes board games, a DVD library, lots of mystery books, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a full-sized washer/dryer. There's a gas bar-b-que on the patio to use should you come home with your very own "catch of the day," or if you just feel like grilling-up some steaks or burgers. Should you want to go to town, simply call Transportation and they’ll pick you up at the property and drop you at the boat dock for a relaxing 10 minute trip across the bay. We have a protected beach where sea turtles return to lay their eggs year after year. When the babies hatch a couple of staff members facilitate their release back into the Sea of Cortez. If you’re there at that time, you’ll receive notice to come and participate!!! The Sea of Cortez is also home to the wonderful Whale Shark, the largest fish in the sea. They come to feed during the winter months, and you can kayak out or take a Panga boat out and swim with these gentle giants. They swim as close as 200-300 feet from shore!!! And, of course, we have darling dolphin pods that entertain on a year-round basis! Oh, don't forget to visit the sea lion rookery on the island of Los Islotes (just north of La Paz) where you can swim, snorkel, and dive with the sea lion pups!!! (Typically you'll need to arrange a trip there with a scuba or snorkeling group.) The pups will delight you with their child-like antics by playing with your snorkels, and sometimes pulling at any of your hair that’s floating free! We are a mere 1-hour’s drive from Todo Santos, where the real “Hotel California” is located, and just 2 hours from Cabo San Lucas, where the “Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez” at the famous arch. We will be happy to provide you maps and/or information on the many excellent restaurants, eco-tour operators, world-class fishing charters, and scuba diving shops located in La Paz and Cabo. Rent for our home is $110/night with a 3-night minimum ($330), or $700 per week. An additional $50 charge for cleaning also applies. (We are also happy to consider other financial arrangements for shorter or extended stays – just email us with your plans.) Should you desire housekeeping services on a more frequent basis or catering by a restaurant from town, our staff can make or arrange that as well.
