    Additional Location Information

    Hello, we are Beckie and Tim and we will be your hosts when you come to stay with us at chalet Jeode
    We have been living in La Rosiere since 2002 so we are in a good position to help you sort out your equipment hire, lessons (we can phone ski school, show you the meeting point and introduce you to your ski instructor), ski passes (give advice on the best pass for you and take you to the lift pass office) and show you the around the slopes (the best restaurants and routes).
    Chalet Jeode will become your home from home, with all the comforts you could require. To make your stay even more enjoyable we will be there to cook breakfast, fresh cakes for afternoon tea and a three course evening meal.
    We look forward to meeting you. Beckie & Tim

    At Chalet Jeode we have 3 twin/double rooms, 1 triple and 1 quad all with English beds, duvets, pillows and towels. There is plenty of cupboard space, so no living out of your suitcase, and there are English sockets available in all the rooms.
    All our bedrooms are en-suite or have private facilities. This means no queuing to make use of our plentiful supply of hot water to ease away those aches and pains after a hard day on the slopes.
    Our lounge area is light and airy with patio doors opening out onto a large south-facing balcony. Our views of the surrounding valleys are stunning, with views up to Tignes, Les Arcs 2000 and La Plagne. We have very comfortable sofas, a TV, video, DVD and stereo. There is a selection of traditional games as well as a wide choice of videos, DVDs and CDs. However do feel free to bring any of your own favourites.

    We fully appreciate that good food is an integral part of any holiday and a ski holiday is no exception. We include breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening meal with wine and coffee.
    To get you off to a good start, every morning we provide a continental style breakfast with cereal, boiled eggs (we have a good track record for soft boiled eggs), porridge, fruit juice and fresh French bread with a selection of preserves. Two mornings a week we also cook you up a full English breakfast.
    Every day there is afternoon tea set out for you on your return. There is a selection of preserves, fresh bread and either homemade cake or biscuits.
    Finally to finish off your gastronomic experience you will be served a wholesome 3 course meal. Prepared daily by Tim and Beckie using fresh, quality ingredients and accompanied by complementary wine - the perfect way to end the day.
    If you have any special dietary requirements, however silly they may seem, we can happily prepare you an individual dish. If you could let us know in advance that would be great.

    If you haven't ever heard of La Rosiere then you have just discovered one the Alps best kept secrets. At an altitude of 1850m, La Rosiere is one of the highest villages in the French Alps. The village is very traditional and the views of the surrounding valleys and resorts are stunning. It has one of the best snow records in the Alps, link that with south facing slopes and you get the perfect combination of snow and sun!

    We are ideally situated just a 2 minute walk from the town centre and 5 minutes from the slopes. There is a free bus that runs every 15 minutes from near the chalet, for those who want to save their energy for the slopes (bars).

    Behind the chalet there is a large area where your children can go and play safely away from any traffic. This has the added advantage of being easily accessible from the chalet - so you can relax and enjoy an apres-ski drink while still keeping an eye on the kids.

    Once a week we have a day off. Breakfast and afternoon tea will be available as normal. In the evening you can try one of the many fine restaurants in La Rosiere and maybe a local Savoyard dish such as Raclette or Tartiflette. We are more than willing to advise you about the different restaurants available and will also make a booking for you if you would like us to.

    * All bedrooms are en-suite.
    * On your arrival we will ensure that your equipment hire, ski passes and ski lessons are sorted out with the minimum amount of fuss.
    * We are located a 2 minute walk from the village and a 5 minute walk from the piste
    * We provide you with a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere
    * Light airy lounge opening onto large balcony with 180° views of the local valleys towards Tignes, La Plagne and Les Arcs
    * Hearty breakfasts to set you up for the day
    * Afternoon tea homemade daily.
    * Wonderful 3-course evening meals with plenty of wine
    * Airport transfers available

      Well looked after from day one.

      Tim and Beckie were great hosts and looked after us very well. It was our sons 21st birthday while we were there(,the reason for the trip really,)and they helped with all the celebrations and Beckie baked a birthday cake(Becks cakes amazing)and we all had a wonderful time.Tim and Beckie even had to put up with some high jinks from the twenty somethings(Dan)and managed to keep smiling while checking their insurance policy!!!. The hot tub is wonderful with the most amazing views and sunsets.Great skiing,great company,roaring log fire at night and Monty the dog to stroke and the lovely annabelle to chat and play games with.

      Another fantastic sking holiday at Chalet Jeode

      Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012

      This is our third year staying with Tim & Beckie and I am happy to say the high standard set in the first year has been maintained to this. We have the best of both worlds, an english couple, but because they live there all year round are able to give local knowledge about most things saving the guests time and energy hunting around a resort. From being collected from Geneva on Sunday, our ski passes purchased on our behalf by Tim & Beckie, having our skis (pre ordered)brought to the chalet in the evening, fitted and ready for the slopes first thing Monday morning till when we were returned to Geneva the next Sunday we were looked after in a caring but professional manner. See you next year T, B & A and of course Monty (the dog)

      Superb accommodation and genuinely lovely owners, recommended un

      Left on 01/30/2012 for a stay in January 2012

      I must admit that I had serious reservations when my girlfriend suggested booking this chalet for our skiing holiday in France. I had never heard of the resort of La Rosiere before. The chalet is owned and run by an English couple with a dog (I'm allergic to many pets) and a small child (I can't stand miserable kids !).
      Happily I can report that all of my reservations proved to be completely unfounded. La Rosiere is a great ski resort for a one or two week holiday. Tim and Becky are genuinely wonderful hosts - you could not hope to meet a nicer couple. Monty the dog was great company in front of the roaring log burner of an evening. Best of all, Annabelle is a very well behaved little girl who also happens to be utterly adorable and highly entertaining.
      Our room in the chalet was a good size, very clean, decorated to a very high standard and impeccably maintained. The views from the main balcony were stunning. The food was truly delicious and nicely varied (and I'm a fussy eater !!).
      Tim and Becky went to great lengths to make their guests comfortable. Their flexibility in accommodating our needs was above & beyond the call of duty (even to the extent of changing their night off so that we could book a table at the restaurant of our choice).
      To summarise, I would not hesitate to recommend this chalet unreservedly. The warmth of the hospitality and the quality of the accommodation would be very hard to beat.
