Otter’s View Home is located in the Sand Dollar Beach complex on Monterey Bay, 10 miles south of Santa Cruz off Hwy l. Otter’s View is a beautiful four-story dramatic ocean view home with accommodations for 8 guests. Otter’s View has just recently been remodeled with a completely new kitchen, redecorated living room, new fireplace, and new floors and freshly painted inside and out. The entrance floor (1st) consists of a two car garage, a sauna and shower. The 2nd floor has the master suite with full bath and deck access. Nice house with a casual beach house feel. Most of the decor is not what I'd want at my house, but it works in a beach house. Master bedroom is huge. Second bedrooms on the same floor are very small. Loft bedroom is a good size, but open to the floor below so not ideal for kids who go to bed early while the adults are getting loud. View is of the ocean over the townhomes below. No view of the beach, just the ocean.

Great ocean view, easy beach access, and comfortable furniture. We enjoyed the separate family table and game table. It was inconvenient not having a teapot and the house phone had lots of static. Our cell phone reception was not good. Other than that, I loved the place and would rent it again. Definitely one of the best beach houses I have ever stayed at.

The service from K&P was amiable and professional. The home is beautiful with a central view of the ocean from the great room. You can even see it from the kitchen while cooking; kitchen is nicely stocked with everything needed but food. The veranda off the great room is an added pleasure. Even though the loft bedroom was not private, it has a nice spacious bathroom and closet area, plus, if you open the window you can sleep to the sound of the ocean all night! The location is superb, a "real" getaway from the busyness of the city and daily grind. This 3-level house with staircase to each level will definitely keep the thighs in shape. This house has a warm, earthy feel, and its closeness to the beach makes it storybook enjoyable. It's decorated throughout with beach decor. The only drawback was the one room with twin beds, as we had 4 couples and had asked that the beds be put together during the linen prep service, which must have somehow slipped through the service order 'cracks'. Other than that, this home is most comfortable and earthy.

The renovations were great, but we wish the pool table was still around.
