This gorgeous Italian Riviera villa is a luxurious and romantic way to explore the coast, including the Cinque Terre. Overlooking the Bay of Poets [a favorite spot of Byron and Shelley], this villa in Liguria has its own lovely gardens and interior spaces perfect for congregating or entertaining. Spend your days touring the seaside villages of the Italian Riviera or relax in the comfort of your own home—with maid service!

[620 m2] This property is located on the coast in Italy's Liguria region. The villa is situated on a prominent, forested hillside, overlooking the city of La Spezia and the Bay of Poets below. From the terraces a...nd gardens of this family home, there is a lovely view of the southern part of the National Park of the Cinque Terre. The villa is surrounded by a lush garden spread over several terraces; it contains lemons, figs, cherries, and many magnificent palm trees. The garden has been well maintained and offers the perfect amount of shade without darkening the house. Parking is available on the premises. The cities of Portofino, Santa Margherita, Rapallo, and the Cinque Terre region are all within 45 minutes by the car, train, or ferry that leaving several times daily from locations only a few minutes from Villa Anastasia's private gate. This property is located on the coast in Italy's Liguria region. The villa is situated on a prominent, forested hillside, overlooking the city of La Spezia and the Bay of Poets below. Across the gulf the southern extension of the Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre in the distance provides a magnificent skyline vista when seen from the terraces and gardens of this family home. The villa is surrounded by a lush garden that spreads over several terraces harboring lemons, figs, cherries, and many magnificent palm trees. The garden has been well maintained and offers the perfect amount of shade, without darkening the house.

[310 m2] Three floors

Partial ground floor: There is a formal dining room that seats 8 – 10 people. There is also a sitting room, which is comfortably furnished with two large sofas and two matching armchairs. Since this room provides access to a terrace [30 m2] and the garden [200 m2], it is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying the cool sea breeze.

First floor [entrance floor]: Upon entering the villa, there is a spacious, comfortable, formal living room with a magnificent marble fireplace. This room has access to a terrace with a view of the Gulf of La Spezia in the distance; it also has access to a terrace [30 m2] equipped for dining under the shade of the palm trees. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a bar. The kitchen has access to another large terrace [50 m2] for dining or sunbathing. The kitchen connects to the TV room and the informal dining room, which seats 4 – 6 people. The TV room has a fireplace and a comfortable sitting area with several couches and chairs. There is a bathroom with a WC and a hip-bath [a very small tub]. The first floor also has a small bedroom, decorated in a marine motif, with two twin size beds and a small en suite bathroom [with shower, WC].

Second floor: This floor has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and an en suite bathroom [with tub, WC], while the other two bedrooms each have double beds and share a bathroom [with shower, WC].

The property is located above the city of La Spezia in the Liguria region. It is a perfect base for touring the entire Italian Riviera, as well as other locations in Tuscany. A ferry departs several times daily from a port located just a few minutes from the villa's private gate.

Cinque Terre [Riomaggiore]: 14 km

La Spezia [center of town]: 4 km [approx. 10 - 15 minutes away]

Available Amenities: Washing machine, hairdryer in every bathroom, two stereo/CD players, satellite TV, VCR, dishwasher, toaster, microwave, electric oven, wood-burning oven on ground level terrace, central heating, wireless internet access [guests must bring their own laptop computer], maid service [two hours per day, three days per week included in the price], private parking for three cars.

Extra Services: Cook service is available upon request. If arranged in advance, the owner can provide a guided tour into La Spezia, Portovenere, or the coastal towns of the Cinque Terre. Tour guide prices are €40 / hour for 1 – 4 people, or €60 / hour for 4 – 8 people. Guests may also request cooking lessons [in advance].

Please Note: The owner occasionally stays in the guest house, 150 m away from the villa. The maid also lives in an apartment next to the villa. No children under the age of 12, please.

  Super house, high on a hill, with beautiful views of the harbor. Very well cared for property with a lot of history too. Kitchen was very comfortable with a large refrigerator, nice oven and stove top. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable as was the rest of the house. It would be worth repeating. The proprietor made everything more enjoyable and our time there was very pleasant. Easy to get to the train station by car (train station had great secure parking).

  The whole family enjoyed our week in the villa. The owner was very warm and welcoming. She gave us a huge basket of fresh fruit and vegetables from the market, plus some pasta and a bottle of Chianti, so that we wouldn't have to shop on our first night. She also gave us some good travel recommendations and she took us into town a couple of mornings later, to show us where to buy the best produce and where to get the best pizza. There were lots of thoughtful touches - lotions, shampoos, soap, tissues, adaptor plugs, radio, CD's and player, hair dryer. She also provided swim towels. It really felt like home. The housekeeper came twice during our stay to clean, wash any pots and pans etc. and to provide clean towels. We did not use the spa-pool as we preferred swimming in the Mediterranean. It might be more useful in cooler weather as it is much more a spa than a pool - it is only 15 ft x 9ft and made of fibre glass.
  
  We loved the patios which had great views and were wonderful for outdoor dining. We had breakfast on the kitchen-side patio every morning. We loved the coziness of the kitchen and family room area. The cooks could socialize with the rest of the family while cooking. The living room was also a nice spot during the day.
  
  The master bed was on a raised platform with two steps. They were a bit of a hazard, especially if you had to get up during the night. The master bath was very spacious and modern. The bed in one of the other rooms - which was a lovely room with a great view and a balcony - was only a full-size bed not totally comfortable for an adult couple. The shared bathroom smelled a bit musty at times but was generally OK. The bathroom downstairs was fine.
  We thought the living room would have been more warm and welcoming in the evening with softer lighting - such as some standing lamps instead of the overhead candelabra. Also, the pillows were uncomfortable.
  
  We loved the views of the bay and the privacy, while only being a short walk to a restaurant, the bus, the supermarket and a patisserie. The garden and surrounding trees were lush, with a hammock and fountains. Very peaceful.

  Spacious and beautiful property. Wonderful views. Covered terrace was a pleasure. On site parking very convienent.
  
  Continual electrical failures and blackouts with minimal appliance use. Blue bedroom beds unusable. Kitchen equipment was old. Dirty drawers and shelves in 2nd floor bath. Shower door in 2nd floor bath not operating properly. Heavy glass closet door in master bedroom came off track.

  We really enjoyed our stay and found the owners very helpful and friendly. The owner's small carriage home is on the property and the owner was there during our stay.
  
  The great outdoor living spaces. The views.
  
  The small kitchen. It's difficult to safely turn your car around in the parking area at the top of a steep driveway, especially when your group has more than one car at the property. The housekeeper and her husband live in the back part of the home and were quite loud late in the evening.
  
  The views and close proximity to Cinque Terre and other small towns-cities around the Bay of Poets.

  The villa was homey and comfortable.
  
  The views and the 3 terraces were wonderful. Annalisa and Daniela were wonderful property managers - so fun and so very helpful.
  
  The big steep hill, but after a few days your muscles stopped complaining, it was great exercise.
  
  So close to the Cinque Terre. A trip to Lucca is a must. The walk between the Cinque Terre towns made the trip for me.

  The property itself is beautiful, and the views are wonderful. The villa is absolutely beautiful, and well positioned for our adventures in Cinque Terre. Can't wait to revisit this wonderful part of Italy!
  
  We had good access to the bus and train station, and also were fairly close to the ferries. And at the same time, the villa was well away from the touristy areas. The owner of the villa was also very accommodating. She spent two days with us taking us to Portovenere, and also to the huge market in La Spezia. The owner is a great bonus to the beautiful experience of the villa. She gave all kind of great cookings tips. In fact, she has become a friend.
  
  The walk up the hill to the villa. Be prepared to walk up a fairly steep hill if you do not drive your car. The dryer and dishwasher were broken, and one of the water heaters in one bathroom didn't work, which was inconvenient for those using that bathroom. Apparently this was a result of the previous renters. The owner let us know right up front about these problems, and she tried her best to get the appliances fixed as fast as possible. No dryer, however.
