KuwaitA bespoke service that sets the bar for others
Left on 06/21/2011 for a stay in February 2011
With 3 young boys (4,6 & 8), my wife and I were concerned with the skiing 'hassle factor', but to say we were all babysat is an understatement. The most relaxing skiing holiday we could have ever wished for. Worth going full board for the home cooking and taxi service. We were so impressed we've booked two further holidays without even considering looking elsewhere.

London, UKFirst class experience at Chalet Karibu
Left on 06/06/2011 for a stay in March 2011
When deciding on where to go skiing with my husband for a rare week to ourselves, we were looking for somewhere that offered affordable luxury in a peaceful setting but with quick and easy access to skiing and restaurants. Chalet Karibu turned out to be the perfect choice, offering all that and more ...
The chalet itself is stunning; tastefully furnished in a minimal yet cosy style arranged across two spacious floors. The upper living/dining room floor is open plan with a small yet perfectly appointed galley kitchen and uninterrupted panoramic views across the valley afforded by the floor to roof 'window wall'. The bedrooms are all downstairs, arranged off a large hallway and are comfortable with modern bathrooms which have the most amazing power showers to ease away the aches and pains from a day's skiing. We also noticed that when the chalet was full, the hot water did not run out despite numerous showers and baths being taken in succession.
Other luxuries such as the in-house sauna, cable TV and DVD library and Wifi access ensure that there is plenty to help you relax.
Our hosts were fabulous, ensuring that we made the most of our time by ferrying us to and from the ski lift (despite it only being a 5 minute bus ride!) and even drove us into the town of Sion on our last day when we opted for a lazy lunch and walk around. Having opted for the fully catered experience we were not disappointed as the food was of an excellent standard and plentiful as was the eternally stocked in-house bar.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience, one we hope to repeat next season.

Winchester, UKExcellent week at Chalet Karibu!
Left on 06/05/2011 for a stay in March 2011
We had a fantastic week at Chalet Karibu in March 2011. The new chalet is beautifully appointed with all the latest facilities whilst retaining the typical Swiss chalet ambience. It is a perfect size and layout, with a huge open plan living/dining room with stunning views across the valley from the wall of glass windows over the balcony spanning two sides of the chalet. The same inspiring view greets you first thing in the morning as the shutters are parted in the delightful bedrooms. Our hosts couldn't have been more hospitable and informative. We were fully catered and can safely say Richard's cooking was of an exceptional standard - always prepared to adapt a meal to suit personal preferences. After a day of skiing it was great to use the in-house sauna and relax.
The resort of La Tzoumaz is much quieter than Verbier on the other side of the mountain but still had a good selection of slopes for all standards of skiing and a couple of excellent mountain cafes. Verbier offered a greater choice of slopes and is easily linked by both cable car and pistes.
