Phoenix, ArizonaRelaxing, fun cabins, a comfortable home-away-from-home!
Left on 09/05/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Had a fantastic vacation at Two Fox Cabins! Our hosts, Patty and Doug, were extremely helpful and cordial, and made our stay very enjoyable. We stayed a week, and everything we needed had been provided in our cabin. Even our dog was welcome!
The grounds and our cabin were immaculately clean, beds were comfortable, and our kitchen was well appointed. There is a market within walking distance, so we enjoyed many meals in our cabin. However, there are several nice restaurants which are also within walking distance.
We enjoyed just relaxing, and watching local wildlife (we spotted deer, hummingbirds and foxes from our cabin). There is no TV in the cabins, but there is a common room that provides satellite TV, and wi-fi. Most days we were also able to get wi-fi in the cabin itself.
Patty and Doug have beautifully restored the cabins, and the colorful gardens throughout the property attracted many compliments from passersby. The location is perfect: one block off the highway, so it's nice and quiet; but close enough to walk to the train station, market, and restaurants.
All-in-all, it was a delightful relaxing vacation, and we can't wait to come back and stay for a month! -

When I first e-mailed late in the evening to see about reserving a cabin, Patty responded 1st thing in the morning. I asked about deposit and she said "We use the honesty policy' you pay when you arrive. I was pleasantly surprised. When we arrived she greeted us at the entrance and was so friendly and helpful...plus, made my teenage grandkids feel so welcome by giving them passwords for wi/fi-internet , showed them the game room and introduced them to her dog. The cabin was clean, comfy and some extra free goodies such as popcorn, coffee/creamer, shampoo- body wash dispensers in each bathroom and plenty of trash can liners, paper towels and paper products. My grandkids, husband and I felt so comfy and relaxed here at Two Fox Cabins...plus loved the hints on local favorites...we took advantage of all her suggestions :)

We stayed in the cabins for two nights. The cabin we stayed in was very clean. We thought it was nice not having a TV going. It was a very quiet cozy area. The cabins appeared to be sound proof as we never heard the neighbors. Looking forward for our next trip to La Veta in which we plan to stay in the cabin again.

The Two Fox Cabins are a gem in the southeastern Colorado mountains. Tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood a block off Main street (Hwy 12, the "Highway of Legends" Scenic Byway), they are the perfect mix of comfort and simplicity. The owners have refurbished these 1930's cabins so that they are quiet, well-furnished, impeccably clean and comfortable. No TV, no landline phone; cell phone worked well as did Wi-fi on laptop (problems with iPad resolved by going to the commons room). Kitchenette has excellent fridge and microwave, all pots, pans, plates and silverware needed. Beds and pillows are clean, very comfy. The owner cares that guests are comfortable and having a good time, is well-informed about the area. The owners obviously work hard at keeping this a beautiful place to stay. This little corner of Colorado is a beautiful area to visit and spend some time; the Two Fox Cabins are a major reason to visit it more than once. Excellent.

I had a wonderful and unforgettable stay at the Two Fox Cabins. When a late season snowstorm struck southern Colorado, I decided - with mother nature dumping flakes by the foot- to wait out the weather at these delightful cabins. The rooms were charming, warm and had all the amenities necessary to actually enjoy being caught in a rare two day blizzard.
Each cabin is tastefully decorated in a western motiff: colorful native american blankets, dream catchers, rough hewn wood furniture, etc.. The larger cabins have efficiency kitchens with all needed appliances and utensils. The owner, Patricia Burns, stocks these inexpensive and charming rooms with small but impressive touches. Soap and shampoo are included in the clean showers. Hand crafted quilts cover the spacious beds. And the most savored touch...more enjoyable than the free coffee ...was a large bowl of fresh soup that Patricia gave me - her storm bound patron.
Patricia and her husband also overwhelmed me with their kindness when they shoveled my rental car out of its igloo sized drift. I was so impressed with their cabins and kindness that I arranged my travel plans to come full circle back to their little paradise in the gorgeous La Veta valley. -

My husband and I have tickets to go on the Rio Grande railway and scheduled to go this weekend. Unfortunately, they were booked and I had already called and rented a cabin at Two Fox cabins in La Veta for the trip. We didn't go on the train ride, but decided to stay for the weekend anyway. We visited the sand dunes, Zapata Falls and ate out for all our meals. We had a great time, just the two of us. The cabins name was "cozy cabin" and that's what it was. Cozy! Just a bed, small bathroom, small fridge and microwave and a little nook to sit and have coffee or whatever. The cabins are nicely decorated in Southwestern theme. The weather couldn't have been more cooperative. We opened both windows in the cabin and had a brisk, cool breeze coming through at night. It was a beautiful weekend. The owner Patricia was so nice and helpful. She showed us a larger cabin with a kitchen and a connecting room to accomodate larger groups or families which was also great. The bathroom towels were surprisingly thick and soft, not thin and scratchy like some hotels have. We enjoyed our weekend. The cabins are very reasonably priced and won't break the bank if your stay is longer. We will definitely come back to these cabins again in the future, as soon as we can get reservations for the train! The only con I have is it might be time to get new mattresses.

We recently spent two nights at Two Fox Cabins & RV. The newly renovated cabins are immaculate and cozy and attractively appointed with Western decor. The bed was ultra-comfortable, the showers hot, and there was the all important coffee and coffee pot in the room. There were plenty of towels, soap and shampoo, too. The owner, Patricia Burns, is terrific - most helpful, cordial and very knowledgeable about the beautiful town of La Veta. Located one block behind Main Street on a quiet road, everything is within easy walking distance. We have stayed often in other places in La Veta, but when we return we shall most certainly return to Two Fox Cabins. It's the ideal place for a relaxing weekend getaway or a family re-union.

I travel quite a bit and I must say that I was extremely surprised at my stay at Two Fox Cabins in La Veta, Colorado- checking online at hotels in the area of La Veta (very short drive from and Walsenburg and I-25) and looking at the other hotels I am glad I stayed at Two Fox Cabins-- the room was extremely clean, very hot water, bed was comfortable and the bathroom towels, wash cloths and hand towels were thick like home. Patricia Burns who operates the establishment is extremely nice and makes sure you enjoy your stay. the parking is great no worries about parking your vehicles as it is a very safe place and it is just a block or two from main street.
I would recommend Two Fox Cabins for any type of stay weather it is for an RV or just renting one of the cabins-- You can't beat the price as it is very affordable and I would pass on any Walsenburg hotels and spend an extra 10-15 minutes drive to stay here anyday.. -

These cabins were just what we were hoping they would be! Very clean & quaint in a beautiful location. The cabin owner, Patty, was very helpful with everything we needed and made recommendations regarding the best fishing options in the area. The town of La Veta has an old fashioned diner & main street that really add to the overall experience of getting away from it all. In view of the very reasonable rates for these cabins, we will definitely plan another visit!

Two Fox Cabins in La Veta, Colorado - Doug and Patty Burns have bought Two Fox Cabins in La Veta, Colorado and have totally redecorated and improved and entire compound. We found Two Fox over the Internet. Three Couples from Oklahoma have stayed at Two Fox during July and august. We were all so taken with the cabins and Doug and Patty that we felt we have made dear friends. La Veta is such a unique place to visit away from all of the commercial vacation spots in Colorado. We all have felt and experienced such a wonderful and peaceful vacation spot in this beautiful valley. Two Fox was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate before going back to responsibilities in everyday life. We would encourage all of La Veta to visit Patty and Doug and take a tour of Two Fox. It would be an excellent place for your family reunions and stay overs for your families during the holidays. It you haven't met Patty and Doug stop by for a visit. You couldn't ask for a more wonderful addition to your beautiful town. Spread the news of Two Fox. We have found God's handy work in each direction as we look at your beautiful valley, Phil and Linda Myles, Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

My wife and I spent three days at the Two Fox Cabins. We chose one of the small cabins, which cost just $49 per night. The cabin was very clean and had been completely renovated in a rustic Western style. The queen size bed was quite comfortable, though the mattress squeeked a little. Our biggest complaint was the total lack of storage space for clothes. There is no place to hang clothes, and there is no dresser to put clothes in. So we were forced to live out of suitcases, and there is hardly any place to put an open suitcase. In addition, there was no bar of soap in the bathroom and no shampoo was provided. Perhaps this is standard for vacation rentals, but when you rent a cabin and pay a daily rate we have come to expect these minimal amenities. Nonetheless, we did enjoy our stay.

What a very pleasant place we stumbled upon!! La Veta is a wonderful experience into itself and Two Fox Cabins is in a perfect location, owned by wonderfully gracious hosts, Doug and Patty Burns, who reside on this property and are always available to make our stay perfect! Their 8, and soon to be completed 9th, cabins have been totally renovated and each has been spotlessly redone in various themes. There are also 10 or so RV spots that overlook the Cucharas River which flows through the back of this property.
We stayed here for 2 weeks and became very familiar with the community, its stores and shops, as well as other rental locations. The conclusion we drew was that, all things considered for selecting a vacation area to visit, Two Fox Cabins in La Veta was the very best facility available for rental and Doug and Patty are the best hosts that area has to offer, without a doubt.
We will return. We do not know when that will happen but we will and when we do, we will be staying at Two Fox Cabins in La Veta, no question about it. -

My wife and I rented a cabin at Two Fox Cabins in La Veta, CO during the last week of July. Quiet and relaxing, it provided a very comfortable and economical base from which to explore La Veta and the surrounding area. The cabins are within easy walking distance to nearly all of La Veta's shops and restaurants. The owners, Patricia and Douglas Burns, were very friendly and helpful and took very good care of us. Two Fox provided us a great place to escape the Oklahoma heat. I hope we can return for a longer stay next summer.

Owner Peggy Burns, who lives on-site and manages the cabins and RV park, has done an excellent job of renovating, and turning these historic, rustic cabins into charming and comfortable accommodations that would be appreciated by anyone! I had a great time in La Veta!! I rented a cabin at Two Fox Cabins & RV in La Veta the entire month of april-2011 and it was a vacation-to-remember.. They are pet-friendly. The newly remodeled (2011) vacation rental cabins and RV spaces sit right alongside the crystal-clear Cucharas River. With full remodeling inside and outside my month's stay rivaled that of those I've come to appreciate only in nicer B & B's. Very comfortable in La Veta, Colorado at Two Fox Cabins with friendly owners on-site. Free W-Fi. These are the nicest-looking rental cabins anywhere in La Veta. My cabin was ready on time, very clean and fresh-smelling when I checked-in. My cabin had a new frig and microwave in the kitchenette and everything worked fine. The bed was comfy and the bedding & linens were top shelf. Just like home - except a lot better, when you 'wake-up' in La Veta!! La Veta, Colorado, pop 900, elev 7013, is an artists's community with many galleries and art events year-around. This La Veta location has inspiring Rocky Mountains' beauty with high alpine meadows. La Veta is also unique with herds of mule deer roaming the town and neighborhood. I actually fed deer from my cabin door..no kidding! An excursion steam train runs during the summer. This is the heart of Colorado 'angler country' with outstandingh fishing all around you. Fine dining 2 blocks away at La Veta Inn and the Cuchara River flowing past your cabin door. I have never, ever been in a town like La Veta, Colorado. A 'storybook' town and visitor's experience. Newly remodeled, nicely decorated comfortable and affordable rental cabins and RV hook-ups at Two Fox Cabins & RV in La Veta,Colorado. I had a great time in La Veta!!
