An elegant and spacious self-contained and fully detached Studio offering comfort and privacy. Located less than 20 minutes walk from the centre of historic Lagos, the Studio shares over 8,500 sq mts of gardens and a large swimming pool with just five other properties. Although within easy reach of all fascilities, Quinta santo Phunurius is tranquil with a feeling of being "away from it all".

Quinta santo Phunurius is located in a peaceful suburb of Lagos, within 20 minutes leisurely walk of the historic town centre and the nearest large sandy beach.
The Studio is fully self contained and detached from any other property. It also has a private breakfast terrace with outside table and chairs and a lawn area in front with sun beds and sun umbrella.
Winter in the Algarve:
If you are looking for a vibrant nightlife, bustling streets and busy, baking beaches – the Algarve in the winter is not for you.
If however, you want mild hazy sunshine, almost deserted beaches, spectacular cliff top walks, sleepy streets, verdant countryside and clear star lit nights by a real log fire, then we have just what you are looking for.
The average temperature in the coolest months – December and January – is a plea sent 17ºc. Although the sun is not guaranteed in the winter months, with an average of 300 days sunshine a year, there is more chance you will get it than not.
The streets and beaches are quiet. The best restaurants are still open, a few bars and quiet cafés. Go off the beaten track and you can find yourself almost alone in paradise. From mid January onwards, our spring arrives with first the almond blossom and then an abundance of flowers including wisteria, wild freesias and fragrant rock roses that fill the air with perfume if you go for a spectacular cliff walk.
The evenings and nights can be chilly (well, by our standards!) so we have wood burning stoves or open fires in each of the properties. Enjoy a glass of robust Portuguese red wine by your own fire, looking out at the clear skies and counting the stars.

my wife and i, along with 18 members of family and friends spent a fabuluos week at the whole estate atquinta santa phunurius. we had viewed pictures of the properties online but on arrival the only words that came to mind were, oh my god! going through the giant gates a vast area appears infront of you. the studio is perfect for those who want a little time on there own but near to the main villa to join in the evening barbecues. the main villa is vast and slept 9 in great comfort with room for more . with large rooms inside and out you are certainly not squeezed in. the pool halfway down the garden provides welcome relief from the heat with ample sun loungers. the 3 other cottages were also perfect and accomadated another 9 guests. with lagos town and the nearest beach a lleisurely 25 minute walk away , the property is ideally situated. an excellent supermarket is only a 5 min walk away. leighton is a superb but unobtrusive host who loks after his guests and will book trips etc . we had afantastic honeymoo/ holiday and would recomend the property to large groups as you can spend time together or have time to yourselves

very nice place, practical holiday house, great pool. What was missing were mosquito nets. Other than that no complaints at all. Would always go back but with mosquito nets in my luggage.

Arrived exhausted looking for a place to crash - this was perfect! Beautiful. spacious setting and ideally located, There is an really good supermarket a short walk away and the local town is just a 15 minute stroll. We hired a car - about the same price as a taxi each way from the airport - and this enabled us to visit the amazing coast to the west - a 30 minute drive. The host is friendly, helpful and easy-going. He was very relaxed about our early arrival and late departure.

We have been guests at the Quinta twice already and will definitely try to come again. Both of our stays were wonderful. The lovely design of both, the Guest Studio and Casa Jardim, spreads a feeling of being welcomed and feeling at home (in a good way!). We especially loved the private terraces, where we enjoyed our breakfast and a barbecue with a glass of Vinho Verde at night. The garden is a beautifully relaxing alternative to the stunning beaches in the area. We always had a car, so we had easy access to the rocky and sandy bays at the Southern coast, but also to the wider, rougher and more remote (surfing) beaches at the West coast (about 30min by car). Leighton, the owner, is an amazing host, who helps out with anything from restaurant or beach recommendations, additional equipment like lamps or body boards to book tips and a library for guests.

We arrived from the airport by taxi arranged by owner to be greeted with a welcome pack which included a nice bottle of Rose - very welcome indeed.
The studio was clean, well equipped and spacious.
Quinta santo Phunurius is situation about 15 mins walk from the town where there are plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. There is also a beautiful marina there where you can book sailing, or dolphin watching trips.
For any other provisions there is a large supermarket location 3 mins walk from the studio.
Had a fabulous week and would highly recommend this studio. -

we had the most incredible experience at the Guest Studio! We arrived to wonderful hospitality from Leighton (the owner) who made us feel very welcome. The guest studio is very homely and even has a barbeque! The Quinta itself is so peaceful and beautiful! the swimming pool especially was heavenly! we were worried about not having a car but it was no problem at all, the town is 20 mins walk one way and the beach 20minutes in the other direction. It was such a incredible and relaxed holiday, everything we wanted! i highly recommend the Quinta!

Nice studio with rustique double bed. Wonderful view over old colonial garden. Excellent host.You don't need a car for a short stay. The beach and Lagos centre are just 18 minutes away.

It is always a pleasure to have holidays to the quinta santo phunurius.
The property is wonderful, ideally located in 20 minutes walk from the center of Lagos. The supermarket is in front of the quinta, and we can easily park.
The property is very quiet, the swimming pool and also the garden very pleasant.
The owner, Leighton, is always available and pleasant, while remaining very discreet.
The guest studio is well equiped, enough isolated of other houses to get intimacy for having breakfast or lunch in front of it (private part of the garden).
We recommand this place, studio is ok for couples, and big enough to get a children bed. Not necessary to get a car to go to Lagos, or to the beaches, with are both 20 min walk far from the Quinta.
