Casa Jardim is a peaceful and charming two bedroom traditional cottage with it's own private garden. The cottage is light and airy, decorated in blue and teal. Outside is a private terrace and garden (outside dining table and chairs, sunbeds, barbeque) with a gate leading into the Quinta's main grounds of over 8,500 m2 and large swimming pool, which are shared with just 4 other properties.

Quinta santo Phunurius is a small holiday "village" of just five properties that share the use of spacious gardens and pool. Casa Jardim is one of these properties. Located in a peaceful suburb of Lagos, the Quinta is only 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of historic Lagos. The centre has all the facilities of a tourist resort yet remains an authentic market town with an interesting history.
Close to the Quinta is an international supermarket which can be reached in 3 minutes by foot. There are also a few local cafés and restaurants, though the centre has the most choice.
The nearest large sandy beach - Praia Porto Mos - is 15 minutes by foot or a few minutes by car. There is a big choice of beaches a short drive away and the spectacular and natural west coast (surfers paradise) is less than 30 mins drive.
There is free parking at the Quinta.
Winter in the Algarve:
If you are looking for a vibrant nightlife, bustling streets and busy, baking beaches – the Algarve in the winter is not for you.
If however, you want mild hazy sunshine, almost deserted beaches, spectacular cliff top walks, sleepy streets, verdant countryside and clear star lit nights by a real log fire, then we have just what you are looking for.
The average temperature in the coolest months – December and January – is a plea sent 17ºc. Although the sun is not guaranteed in the winter months, with an average of 300 days sunshine a year, there is more chance you will get it than not.
The streets and beaches are quiet. The best restaurants are still open, a few bars and quiet cafés. Go off the beaten track and you can find yourself almost alone in paradise. From mid January onwards, our spring arrives with first the almond blossom and then an abundance of flowers including wisteria, wild freesias and fragrant rock roses that fill the air with perfume if you go for a spectacular cliff walk.
The evenings and nights can be chilly (well, by our standards!) so we have wood burning stoves or open fires in each of the properties. Enjoy a glass of robust Portuguese red wine by your own fire, looking out at the clear skies and counting the stars.

We had two months at Quinta Phunurius winter 2012/2013 and loved it. It is a unique property in Lagos, very traditional with fantastic gardens. Casa Jardim is the best property we have stayed at in over 20 years of visiting the algarve. Its low-key, quiet, on the the edge of Lagos, but within walking distance of everything you need ... including supermarket, restaurants, cafes and the markets, not to mention the lovely algarve beaches. The Casa Jardim garden is regularly visited by the chickens, whose eggs you can purchase from Leighton. Porto do Mos beach is a brisk 20 minute walk away, with a good restaurant right on the beach. Watch the surfers and fishermen at sunset. Brilliant. Go for it! You won't regret it.

The Casa Jardim is the lovliest place to stay in Lagos! We were welcomed by the friendly owner with fresh eggs from his chickens, fresh bread and even a bottle of wine in the fridge. The compound is very large with a beautiful garden and swimming pool. Although the Casa Jardim is one of three houses on the compound, it is very tranquil with lots of undisturbed space. The location of the compound is not far from the Intermarché Supermarket and about 15 minutes from the city center - yet it has a countryside atmosphere. All amenities are there: 2 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, TV and radio, BBQ outside, washing machine, WiFi (at the main house) etc. There are two dogs, a cat and chickens on the compound.
Overall, this place is highly recommended! -

We enjoyed our stay a lot and would have loved to stay longer. We were very well received by th owner (Thanks for all the little attentions and your help. I liked the portuguese style of our little cottage,the garden and enjoyed the pool. Everything is close by. Supermarket, bus stop, town center. even without a car it is posssible to get to lots of nice beaches further west of Lagos. I would have liked to feed the chickens and their eggs tasted great.I hope there will be a next time.

Casa Jardim is in fact a wonderful place to be. Our children (6 and 8 years old) are still talking about one of our best holdidays ever. The house is located on the brink of a huge and cultivated garden with a pool located in the centre and you can find also some small ponds. We enjoyed a couple of relaxing days. Leigthon is a very nice person. He welcomed us with bread, butter, eggs, a five litre bottle of mineral water (!) and finally with a good bottle of white wine from the region.
We definitely can recommend this location.

As we don,t drive, we arrived by taxi arranged by the owner, Casa Jardim was clean and ready on our arrival even so we arrived very early. We were surprised by the size of the cottage as it looks much smaller on the photos. Casa Jardim is very private with a cute little garden around.
Location for us was perfect as we could go everywhere on our feet, supermarket is only a few minutes away, and beach and old city about 15 minutes.
We loved everything about our little cottage, lovely pool near by, and wonderful Lagos.Our children loved friendly animals, and the owner Leighton was extremely helpful. -

This cottage has evering you need for a quiet and private holliday.I have spent just a week. I'll certainly be back for a longer stay. The perfect place for a (old or young)couple. Leigton is a wonderful host. Shops,restaurants and praia do Mos beach are all within walking distance.
