Quinta Caroline has been lovingly restored to provide the perfect holiday home for the discerning holiday group or family. Originally a traditional Portuguese Quinta (private estate), many of the original features have been retained whilst all modern facilities installed - from a granite top kitchen, huge baths (including one whirlpool and one Greek-style sunken bath) large double shower / wet room through to internet, office facilities and of course a lovely private pool set in extensive and totally private grounds offering 100% privacy when sunbathing, relaxing or alfresco dining on its many terraces.

The villa has been extensively an...d very comfortably furnished throughout with comfy sofas, huge beds, quality sunbeds, three BBQs (one indoors, one large gas outside), three fridges to make shopping/entertaining a breeze extensive outside seating (we have had parties of 200 in the grounds in the past) through to a kitchen that is equipped to satisfy the most choosy of chefs

Entry to the villa is via a large, palm tree lined sweeping driveway with steps up to an impressive entrance porch (an alternative entrance way is available for those with mobility issues)

The main kitchen is black granite throughout with built in fridges, two ovens, bult in microwave, dishwasher and enough cutlery, crockery, pots, pans and dishes etc to feed a small army. Off the kitchen is a separate' back kitchen' housing a large chest freezer and further fridge together with additional work and storage space providing 'out of sight' preparation areas for entertaining or a visiting chef. Fully stocked to meet the demands of the most skilled chef, items such as cake tins, mixers, electric fry pans, juicer, slow cooker, coffee machine and an extensive library of cookery books should a guest be feeling adventurous!

The open plan style kitchen leads into the large lounge with leather comfy sofas seating eight and there is a separate further sitting area with sofa and small desk. A 42 inch LCD TV (Freeview), surround sound system, DVD and IPOD connection kit are also in the lounge.

The lounge has room-wide patio doors that fold right back to let the 'outside in' and that lead to one of the furnished terraces (sofas/comfy chairs) and the pool. The dining room has double aspect patio doors, one set of which lead out to the 'winter' garden which has a bespoke wooden table and chairs for 12-14 and an 'indoor' bbq - a perfect place to dine/entertain in the cooler months

Off the lounge is the family bathroom featuring wc, sink, bidet and Greek style 'sunken' bath with shower over

Next to the family bathroom is the first of the bedrooms which is a large, traditional Portuguese style room with feature tiling and housing hundreds of books and CDs so great for the bookworm or music lover. and the bedroom's ensuite offers shower, extra large bath, wc, bidet and sink

The master bedroom suite - or retreat as we have always called it (!) - is actually four bedrooms turned into one bedroom and bathroom so both are absolutely huge! The master bedroom has a large sofa (seating 7-8) with coffee table and ipod connection kit and doors out to a terrace furnished with relaxing chairs and coffee table - both the perfect place for 'me' or 'us' time or just a quiet read away from the rest of the family. The seating area leads into the bedroom area which has a large double bed, and plenty of wardrobes. The ensuite to the master is actually the combination of two bedrooms to provide an idea of scale and features 'his and hers' basins, whirlpool/jacuzzi bath, a 10 ft long double wet room style shower plus bidet / WC.

The door from the bathroom leads out to the pool and terraces/gardens with a separate laundry on the left (washing machine, separate drier, sink etc. Next to the laundry is a mirrored office equipped for holiday working.

Next to the office is a further room offering a large drinks fridge (great for those lazy afternoons when it's just too much trouble to go all the way indoors for the next beer or glass of wine!) and wine storage racks

The third bedroom which is enormous offering two twin beds (which can be made up into an extra large double if requested - please request at booking stage), L-shaped sofa / chaise lange, TV with DVD player, tea / coffee making facilities and with a feature glass ceiling to watch the stars at night. This is a great retreat for either teenagers /older children to have their own independent 'studio' whilst on holiday or for a couple as part of a group to have additional privacy.

The villa is fully airconditioned throughout and centrally heated for the cooler months. We have installed a number of internet routers to ensure that wifi reaches throughout the property, inside and out

Additional Location Information

The Algarve / West Algarve region

Lagos, which is 2km away, is the cultural and entertainment city in the area. With its cobbled streets, brand new marina, wonderful beaches and restaurants too many to count, it is a great destination for days and evenings out. Praia da Luz, which is also 2km away, offers all the advantages of a tourist resort but without the crowded feeling of other Algarve seaside areas. There are numerous beaches and coves nearby, the nearest being around 1-1.5 km away which can be driven to (rarely busy even in the height of summer) or accessed on foot by a track. This is a hidden gem of a beach as it is set amongs beautiful scenery and is a very long and wide bay offering plenty of space for sunbathing (sunbeds available for hire) and there are two excellent restaurants for beachside breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Inland, the surrounding villages offer a good variety of local cuisine away from the tourist crowd, and definitely at non-tourist prices!
The Lagos / Porto de Mos area

For holidaymakers, it offers the ideal location to relax and enjoy the 3000 hours of sunshine per hour that the Algarve offers whilst being very close to the historic town of Lagos and the Blue Flag beaches of the Algarve.

The nearest supermarket is just a couple of minutes away by car and about 15 minutes on foot and there are a number of excellent local restaurants within a couple of minutes' walk of the villa

Boavista championship golf course is 800m away.

Please note that winter stays are exclusive of electricity which is charged at cost.
If Quinta Caroline is being used as a celebratory venue (eg wedding/birthday party) which includes guests not registered on the booking form as staying at the villa, then an additional security deposit will be required. The amount will depend on the size of the event - please enquire for details
