A verdant green secluded hilltop masterpiece of modern-tropical architecture overlooking the blue Pacific in Laguna Beach. Just a 10 to 12 minute stroll to the sand, this is a very private property, with no houses on all sides or traffic on the dead end cul-de-sac. This villa style beach house is built into the side of a hill to obtain a flat area at the top for an exciting indoor/outdoor living experience area, with endless 180 degree panoramic ocean white water views, breaking waves, and a classic northwest view all the way to Palos Verdes peninsula. The beach house is molded into the hillside’s natural landscape and creates a unique and modern living environment.

Three stories of living space are perched on top of the garage. An elevator or koa wood stainless steel staircase carries you up past the two levels of bedrooms to the living/dining/kitchen great room and backyard of the top view level.

The upper story is a giant indoor/outdoor living area. The inside great room includes the gourmet kitchen, sit down bar, dining room and living room with flat screen television. The ten foot tall copper clad koa wood sliding walls of glass open the inside to the outside stone decks and pool/spa areas. Here are planted areas of exotic tropical flora, a rock sculpture, solar heated swimming pool with multiple cascading waterfalls and a large spa plus an outdoor kitchen, barbeque, stainless steel fridge, and eating area with limestone counters. A large wood and hand woven thatch and bamboo palapa imported from Bali covers a floating marble rock eating table with seating for eight outside.

The outdoor area is situated to receive sun all year round for your sunbathing pleasure. There are generous uses of round Bali stones in various colors and shapes to create a beach-like entrance to the pool. Above you sway palm and banana trees in the Shangri-La like setting with tropical plants and flowers of all types.

The modern style kitchen indoors has a large island with a glass surfboard shape sit-down bar suspended over a rainforest stone granite countertop. Also included is a Viking 8-burner cooktop with a stainless steel and glass hood to complete the island. The koa hardwood flooring and custom horizontal grain wood cabinetry in the kitchen accent the carved palm tree scene on pantry doors. Stainless steel Electrolux appliances complement the rainforest granite stone countertops and onyx stone backsplash and complete the large gourmet kitchen. There is also a large gameroom with a professional-size pool table and flat screen television for your enjoyment.

All the doors and windows are custom koa hardwood, and the windows are copper clad on the outside. The bathroom koa doors are carved with different palm trees. The bathrooms have Bali-style zen cabinetry, granite countertops with glass vessels and a generous use of glass and stone tiles throughout.

With few neighbors and no traffic on the dead end cul-de-sac, the tranquility of the setting attracts numerous birds and wildlife. This makes for a picturesque natural setting while watching the waves breaking on the vast Pacific Ocean and enjoying the ever changing sunsets into the sea.

As the hummingbirds wiz by and the bluebirds sing in the natural habitat, your attention is drawn to the ever present panoramic Pacific Ocean. It’s a daily pleasure to watch the waves breaking as the sun sets into the sea, at your own private beach resort.

Light the barbeque and tiki torches, cut up the sashimi, and do a few laps in the pool before Jacuzzi time. Hurry up and slow down this is the real Laguna Beach!
