When we arrived - it was very, very hot in the room. The living room a/C was not working. The guest coordinator said that it has been so hot in the area, it's been hard to keep the rooms cool (that's why you should have a/C that works). She said she was going to call the a/C person and said that at night it cools off and to close all the blinds (but we wanted the view of the ocean, so we have to close everything to try and be cool made no sense.). Bottom line, no a/C guy came during the week. I had rented a mid-size van, not an SUV, and was told that I had an SUV but given the issue with the room, she allowed me to park on property. The room policies stated that this particular unit could sleep 4 adults and not to have more than 8 people in the unit - there's no way - the unit was not that big to comfortably accommodate that many. The only good thing about the unit was the view and location. It was easy and quick to get to the beach. It was nice to have the windows opened at night and hear the waves crashing on the shore and get up in the morning and take a walk on the beach right away. It was a good location to walk to downtown Laguna and be where all the restaurants and shops were. Good location. The owners probably need to get a contract with a different a/C company where they actually come out and service the units when needed.

I've stayed at the Laguna retreat many times, in many units. It's perfectly situated within walking distance to town, close to a grocery store, and around the corner is a great little breakfast cafe. The villas have everything you need to prepare meals in the updated gorgeous kitchens. They are all different in their decor so each villa has it's own feel, all are nicely done. From what I recall, all but one of them have a great view, and that one has a large patio with it's own fire pit. And there is a common area deck with great views. Most villas have outstanding ocean and beach views. Helpful non-intrusive staff, ask for Jason when you call, he'll take care of you. And it's always clean, which is a must for me. These little villas are my first choice of where to stay in Laguna, and I'm always thrilled to get there, and hate to leave. I've been staying there for several years now. Great dolphin and whale watching.
