This place was absolutely awesome!! We arrived to a lovely clean villa with the windows open, ocean breeze, and a welcome basket with water, snacks and a whole brick of terrific coffee. Maureen was a wonderful hostess. No extra charge for anything - use of a washer and dryer, beach toys, parking. The location was perfect - my daughters could walk to the beach, grocery store, restaurants and shops. We felt so safe and at home. There were some awesome perks, including a free whale watching trip and certificates for breakfast and dinner - no catch to any of it, just a thanks for staying with them. There is so much to see and do on this beach and The Retreat is a perfect place to stay within walking distance of most everything. I love Laguna - it's not too crowded and packed with tatoo and t-shirt shops - no high rises - you feel more like a local than a tourist here. If I go back to Laguna I will stay here again for sure!!!

Hi guys:
I thought you all made us feel very, very welcome and I appreciate that.
Odd flaws: some of the utensils in the kitchen -- the knives in the knife holder and the part of the coffee maker that holds grounds -- were downright dirty.
We were not given fruit or other goodies in the basket because you "ran out."
The workmen next door in the morning were very loud, and should have been told it's against ordinances and codes to begin work before 9 am on weekends.

We stayed at The Retreat in Laguna in Villa Teatro for 2 nights. We had such a wonderful time! The 1 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath was the perfect size for our family of 4. There is beautiful Wyland artwork throughout the condo, and a huge patio right off the condo with a partial ocean view, which we saw dolphins from during dinner one evening. We enjoyed grilling dinner both evenings and eating on the patio. Everything is walking distance from The Retreat. There is a Ralphs grocery store across the street and many dining options close by. They also have everything you need for your day at the beach, from beach chairs, umbrellas, kids toys and boggie boards. It was a wonderful summer experience for our family!

My husband and I stayed at The Retreat in Laguna in early Feb. The location was fantastic. The weather was mild. If you want to be away from the crowds, but close to everything this is the place for you. You can walk to art Galleries, dinner or even the grocery store.
The picture of the Villa Teatro doesn't do the place justice. It has a great deck for bbq'g out. All of the staff was wonderful.

Our stay at The Retreat in Laguna was impeccable! The staff was full of hospitality, the room was amazing with all the amenities, etc., and the location could not have been more perfect! It truly is just steps from the beach with the most amazing sunsets you have ever seen! The perks were really a nice touch--dinner certificates, drinks at the Beach House, etc. We are planning to go back very soon! We are grateful we found such a great place that really does cater to your needs!

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Villa Teatro and enjoyed it very much. The location is excellent--on the quiet ocean side of South Coast Highway--with a lovely patio and view of the ocean. Although essentially in downtown Laguna, it is very quiet--no traffic noise--with grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping all in easy walking distance. The onsite manager was very helpfujl and greeted us with a fruit bowl and complete information on the unit, a map of the area, and dollars off certificates for some of the local businesses.
The villa is quite new, spacious, comfortable, very clean, with a well stocked kitchen and bath. The property is very well maintained.
