We live in the desert, so the beautiful ocean breezes, and listening to the waves are a very special treat for us. We found Villa Leone to be a lovely "retreat" and enjoyed our stay very much. The location was very convenient and a nice little walk to anywhere we wanted to go in Laguna. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only negatives are that we found the unit small (for our liking), and since Suv's cannot be parked at the property, we needed to walk a few blocks to get to our vehicle when we needed it. Otherwise, the unit was in great condition, ocean views wonderful, and we enjoyed our one week stay very much.

All of the beachfront in Laguna is packed with residences, resorts, restaurants and rentals. This little offering of a half-dozen or so villa units is nestled right in there. But, it's what I would imagine a villa in Italy would be, with cobblestone courtyard and rustic painted stuccoed walls.
Terraced over three levels, the collection of units is beautiful and a good use of the tight space between other residences on either side. Although some views are slightly hindered by structures on a lower level than these villas, nothing of the beachfront, ocean-side experience is lost. All photos with this review are of or from the unit or balcony of Villa Leone (Villa 6).
Completely stocked with anything you need for condo-rental living, or available with a phone-call to the service people (Maureen is great...Thanks!). Remodeled recently with all modern appointments. Community beach furniture, boogie borads and toys are easy to grab from the storage area on your way down the stairs to the beach.
Ralph's (a beautifully-stocked Kroeger grocery store, accepting your club card!) is only steps away across the street. We thought this alone was enough draw to this retreat. Add walking distance to anything to see or anywhere to eat and this is a perfect Laguna destination. I won't even try to list the great restaurants, and you gotta see Heisler Park. A drive up Park Drive to alta Laguna Park or a strenuous hike up to aliso Peak reveals some of the best views in Orange County, and great gawking at the luxury residences up on the hills.

From our reservation experience down to our contact with all of the various employees of The Retreat, we had wonderful, professional, and friendly service. The location of the resort is ideal and the amenities and cleanliness were much appreciated, as was the surprise Easter brunch served on the patio.
