After searching for a local hotel with beach access in Laguna Beach and feeling very underwhelmed, a friend had suggested trying Vrrbo.com. That's when I hit the jackpot after stumbling upon The Retreat! This place has such a relaxed feel; much more intimate than you could find at any hotel in any beach city. The booking experience with Jason was a pleasure, as he was very flexible and accommodating. On site, Maureen made us feel welcome right away and was more than helpful during our brief stay. The location and beach access are nearly perfect. The rooms are in great shape and the special offers from local businesses for guests was a major, unexpected bonus! I can guarantee I will be back for a longer stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat and wish we had booked longer. Maureen is a lovely greeter. We felt like we had come to visit relatives or close friends! The room looks very much like the photos. The best spot is on the deck relaxing to the sounds of the crashing waves. The location is everything here. Everything is within walking distance - grocery store, main beach, village, resturants, shops, galleries. There is a path from the facility to the beach in front and outdoor showers to get the sand off. All in all a lovely place and a lovely stay. My only request is to have access to ice or an ice maker for this room. There was a fridge, but no freezer in the room.

5 stars to the artist retreat and any of the condos here. The concierge staff is just amazing. Views to die for, nice ammenities, great beach to layout and sun! Go and stay at least 3 days. The holiday inn hotel has an amazing italian restaurant w/homemade pasta. mmm!-who wouldn't love it here!

We stayed at The Retreat for my recent birthday. Awesome view and the best part is you can walk everywhere - beach, market, restaurants and shops. Will definitely stay again.

I went to The Retreat in Laguna for a break from my Doctorate work. The Villa D'Arte was exactly what I needed. It is a cute villa with ocean views and everything you, including great coffee, welcome snacks, maps,and more. The staff is extremely helpful! Maureen looked out for me, as I was traveling alone and Jason helped me extend my stay (I didn't want to go home).
