      What great place to stay!

Left on 05/07/2013 for a stay in April 2013

We arrived at this condo on april 26, 2013 and stayed for 7 days. We were so delighted to find the condo not only very clean but with one of the best views of the ocean I have ever experienced. While at the condo I believe I spent ninety percent of my time on the lanai viewing the sunset and other activities in the water below the condo. The sunsets were breathtaking to say the least.

Although we did not see any whales we did see plenty of Marine life from the lanai.

This condo is located in a great location and you have plenty of areas to choose from for dinner, shopping and entertainment.. You are within minutes of great snorkeling locations if you choose to leave the condo to explore other areas. However, there really is no need to leave the condo area because there is great snorkeling and other water activity located on the site. They have a very relaxing pool that has plenty of sun or shade depending on your desires.

The owners of this condo have taken great lengths to make sure that they have provided enough information on all activities around the area and there is a detailed book that you can reference. The condo has all the amenities that you could possibly want for a vacation site. The TV and entertainment center was excellent and there is also a TV in the bedroom. All of the kitchen equipment is very clean and well taken care of which provides a place for preparing breakfast or any other meal.

We felt so at home at this location and believe if you consider it you will also. You cannot go wrong with the price or the accommodations and the clean environment you will be spending your time in.

      Book it !

Total Relaxation - Our 43rd anniversary

Left on 04/28/2013 for a stay in April 2013

This was our first trip to Maui and to the Maui Kai Resort, but will not be our last! The condo(504) was very comfortable and has everything you might need. The most wonderful part of the condo was the lanai, we also saw our first whale. The ocean view is outstanding, you can't see anything but ocean! It reminded us of our balcony on a cruise ship, only much better! We enjoyed listening to the ocean every night as it rocked us to sleep! The stay was very relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable, while providing a central point for various Maui specialties; restaurants, shopping and luau. We are looking forward to our next visit.

      Wonderful Experience

Left on 04/10/2013 for a stay in April 2013

I can't say enough about this wonderful condo 504! It was like being in heaven! I haven't been that relaxed in years. The condo had everything we could possibly need. The furniture was so comfortable in.every room. The lanai was perfect - right over the water!! Loved hearing the waves hitting the shore - put us to sleep every night! As we arrived late to Maui the gift package waiting for us was so much appreciated. We were able to enjoy Kona coffee the next morning as well as the other goodies in the package.
A grocery store minutes from the condo as well as an abc store close by that carried fresh food! I highly recommend this condo for your vacation. Aldo try the Old Lahaina Luau while you're there.

      Pure Relaxation!

Left on 04/05/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We had a wonderful time staying at Maui Kai for a wedding. The hotel is very centrally located to everything we needed - most notably the ocean! The room was perfectly accommodating for four of us and the ceiling fans were a huge plus when falling asleep. The waves crash right below the lanai, you honestly could not get any closer to the ocean :) In addition to the lovely room Lyn was very responsive and made booking our room easy. Which helped with my last minute planning! We hope to return one day!

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We had a great time at this condo. Everything is stocked up for visitor's convenience. Beautiful views and lovely lanai. We enjoyed sitting in lanai each morning and having our tea and breakfast. One best thing with the lanai is that other condos cannot see your lanai, so you don't have to worry about other people. The decor is very beautiful. Overall, it is an awesome place to stay. We would love visiting this condo again in future.

Left on 01/31/2013 for a stay in January 2013

504 was absolutely fantastic, the condo had everything you needed for a week long stay in Maui, including binoculars which made the whale, dolphin and turtle sightings in January spectacular! Location is great for that side of the Island, we walked over to Whalers village along the beach and beach walk and Napili beach was only a five minute drive away (great beach for kids)

No complaints at all, highly recommended! Thank You Lyn!

Maui Kai 504 for the Perfect Experience

Left on 01/28/2013 for a stay in October 2012

We recently returned from Maui where we spent 9 nites at the wonderful Maui Kai. We have been hanging "our lei" at the Maui Kai Unit 504 for several years. Why go anywhere else? Unit 504 is super comfy and owners Lyn and al Magorno have generously provided everything you will need for a relaxing and fun vacation. However, the biggest plus about unit 504 is the oceanfront view!!! Honestly, it is panoramic, you will think you are on a cruise ship! The Pacific Ocean sits just below the lanai. In addition to the great view the unit is quiet and you can walk to restaurants and a grocery store. Plus there is a beach front promenade that is perfect for walking, strolling or running. This condo is heavenly...once you stay here you will return again and again for the perfect aloha experience.

What a great Condo.. This condo was well stocked ranging from boogie boards, noodles, snorkeling gear, ice chest, and seasoning in the kitchen. My family of 4 had plenty of room. The high bar stools on the Lanai were great to sit and watch the whales from. This was our first time in Maui and it was a great place to stay and we will be back!!!

Nice condo. Fantastic views. Certainly fully equipped from the kitchen to recreational equipment. Friendly staff, very welcoming. We were hoping to sleep to the sound of lapping waves but it's more of a pounding surf so we had to close the lanai doors at night. Convenient location, easy access. Grocery store right across the street and a funky breakfast place. Gas grills out by the pool for easy grilling. Hawaiian music Cd's were a nice touch, set the mood. Saw over a dozen Sea Turtles right from the balcony as well as a huge pod of Dolphins and the last morning watched a baby Humpback whale for over an hour.

Left on 09/30/2012 for a stay in September 2012

This was our 2nd stay at the Maui Kai condo. We loved it just as much this time as the 1st time we stayed. The condo has everything you need (kitchen, A/C, snorkel gear, plenty of room, extra towels, etc.) But the most important feature is the lanai. The view from the lanai is truly amazing. You're so close to the water and the views are unobstructed.

The owners are very nice and are quick to answer questions about the condo, things to do in Maui, etc. And all my questions were answered within minutes.

We look forward to staying at the condo again in the near future.

      Thanks Lyn!

We had a great stay at the Maui Kai condo 504. When we entered, we were right away impressed with the beautiful view of the ocean and the islands of Molokai and Lanai. The condo had a large lanai to watch the sun set at night. The condo was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We would recommend this condo to anyone, and would definitely stay there again. We already miss our trip to Hawaii!

Condo 504 at the Maui Kai, was a home away from home. Everything you could possibly want to stay and play at the beach was included in this rental. The beds were comfortable and the condo is beautifully decorated. The best part was the lanai overlooking the ocean that provides great views and a relaxing place to unwind at the end of the day. Great for families, my children had a great time running down to the beach to play in the surf.

Left on 07/25/2012 for a stay in July 2012

This was our first trip to Hawaii.

Glad that we picked Maui Kai Beach Resort Condo 504 in Maui.

Our stay was for 8 days and Lyn even let us stay there for few more extra hours on our last day (we had late flight leaving Maui - thanks again Lyn)

This condo was well managed with all needed utensils, spices, pots/pans. Refrigerator, bathroom, and premises were nice and clean.

Waking up every morning and sitting on the Lanai with a cup of coffee and nice breakfast with my family was bliss, we enjoyed long walks on the beach. We even had our dinners on the Lanai with beautiful sunset.

Lyn made a beautiful condo with good furnishings and everything we could imagine (boogie boards/coolers). Mahalo to you and will be back to this condo as soon as we can!

      Good place

Left on 06/23/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Very attentive manager (Lyn Magorno), who managed to stay in touch even though she was abroad and arrange last minute arrangements for me & my family. We were grateful--mahalo, Lyn!

The place itself is fine--it's got a beautiful view, hot tub & pool below (not on ocean side FYI), computer & printer access in the poolhouse along with ping-pong (handy if you're still printing boarding passes). Easy parking in the streets below (any spot--1st come, 1st served).

The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, spices, pots/pans. The refrigerator, bathroom, and premises were nice and clean.

It's a solid stay. It is slightly smaller (maybe 890sq ft?), but that's to be expected. The pation on the 5th floor with a view & the roar of the ocean below is an awesome lullaby.

The only reason I hold back from 5 stars is I reserve that rating to a place that is truly above and beyond all expectations, and this one was just as nice as expected. A solid 4 star stay I do not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

      Thank you again, Lyn Magorno!

(We couldn't get the TV in the living room to work...but we didn't care. We listened to the wonderful Hawaiian Cd's instead.) The condo is in a good location with a nice beach on either side of the complex. Duke's Restaurant is just 2 doors down. Parking at Whaler's Village (Kaanapali Beach) is $30.00! But if you eat at one of their restaurants, they will validate parking. A perfect vacation condo!

Aloha Debbie, Thank you so much for your kind words about our condo #504 at Maui Kai. I hope you also enjoyed our new lanai set with swivel chairs that allow you to have a totally clear view over the railing of the 180+ degree panorama of Molokai and Lanai sitting regally in the ocean expanse. Incidentally, the front room TV is a flatscreen only six months old. Because of its connection to Hawaiian cable and the DVR it's best to follow the explicit directions provided on a laminated sheet usually found on the coffee table or TV cabinet. If necessary, a quick call to our on-island contact will help. I'm glad you enjoyed Duke's-just a short walk down the beach and Whaler's Village for it's enjoyable restaurants as well (we always park free-even if you're only buying a small item at an ABC store-you'll be validated.) I hope you are able to return soon! Mahalo, Al and Lyn

Left on 04/08/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We saw the photos online, but were blown away when we walked in the front door to an amazing view that drew us out immediately to the large lanai. I lounged on the chaise for a while to soak it all in. 180 degree vista with the islands of Molokai and Lanai to set it off! The lanai set enabled us to see over the railing and we used the swivel chairs to take in everything from a monk seal, whales, catamarans, surfers and to rainbows.
We slept wonderfully well hearing the waves from a comfy king bed. That lanai and view awaited us once we rubbed the sleep from our eyes. We discovered they even have free coffee in the morning downstairs (with cups/lids). We'd grab some for our walk along a long stretch of Ka'anapali beach, dabbling our feet in the heavenly surf and sand!
We fixed some meals in --the kitchen having everything we needed and more-breakfast was an absolute on the lanai but Maui has such great restaurants, we found ourselves eating out for dinner much of the time.
It was great to either have central a/C available or let the ocean breeze in through the sliding doors. Al and Lyn, the owners have made a beautiful condo with lovely furnishings and everything we could imagine...even boogie boards and coolers. Mahalo to you two. We'll be back to 504 as soon as we can!

Older facility, but well-kept. View is outstanding. Air conditioner is very noisy (rattles), so didn't use it. Canadians partied late into the night around the pool, but otherwise most folks were great. At higher end of local rentals, and "tight" in the kitchen and bathroom, but not an issue. It's all about the 180 degree view right over the ocean. This particular unit has been upgraded very nicely. We'll be back.

We are always happy to hear our guests have enjoyed out condo, #504 with its fantastic views and upgrades. We strive to make our condo as pleasurable for our guests as possible with many amenities, extras and comforts. We do however, appreciate hearing if there is any kind of problem right away. In this case regarding the A/C rattling, if the front desk been contacted, maintenance would have fixed it. There is also the option of calling us or our on-island contact as well, but no one was called. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the issue until reading it in a review online. We immediately called the front desk and maintenance went in and heard the ‘low’ setting making some noise while the ‘medium’ and ‘high’ were ok. A new motor was installed in less than an hour and it very effective and very quiet for everyone. Mahalo, Lyn and Al (owners)

Got to vacation here 12/31/11 - 01/05/12. Great escape from the snow & cold of alaska! Unit is clean, well appointed, secure and easy to find. Especially appreciated the beach amenities - umbrella, cooler and snorkel gear - and very comfortable bed.

Saw lots of whales in the channel as well as an occasional turtle below and even a pod of dolphins! The "resort" itself had a nice grilling area and even a small pool available. Grocery store nearby. Only did 1 meal "out" @ the Java Jazz restaurant - mediocre for us - would not bother going back there. Wished we had gone to the Gazebo, just a little ways up the road instead.

Highlight of the vacation was visiting Little Beach Sunday Night - only for the open minded tho - and doing a zip line @ Piiholo Ranch. Not cheap but very safe and fun! Biggest drawback was finding a place nearby to snorkel / park.

Owners take excellent care of their home - we tried to do the same - enjoy!

We loved our 5 days at Maui Kai 504. The condo is comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed, with every amenity, from a coffee grinder and binoculars, to wireless internet, down to scissors and a flashlight in the utility drawer and sunblock in the bathroom cabinet. Even the pull-out bed got a positive review from our daughter, who has slept on plenty of bad pull-outs. The view is spectacular, especially the sunsets, with Lanai and Molokai in the distance. We saw whales and dolphins every morning while eating our breakfast and drinking coffee on the lanai. While the resort is surrounded by other hotels and condos, it is quiet, and parking was readily available. The property is well-maintained, with a small pool and spa, and a well-equipped game room. There are excellent restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. The owners are responsive and provide all the information you need both before and during your stay. If you're going to Maui, I highly recommend Maui Kai 504 for your stay!

The first thing you notice when walking into the condo is how spacious it is. It's a large one bedroom. The next thing you notice is the lanai and view. It's unbelievable! Eating breakfast on the lanai is heavenly. Trust me, you will not beat this view anywhere. It's breathtaking. The complex is quiet and steps from the beach (literally). The condo is packed with things you may need for the beach, snorkel gear, boogie boards, towels, etc.

Lyn is very helpful if you have any questions as she got back to me quickly via phone and email for the myriad questions I had about Maui.

I will absolutely stay at this condo in the future. We had an incredible time.

Ocean view condos at Maui Kai have almost a 360 degree view of the ocean, because this condo complex is literally right next to the ocean. Specifically for this condo, the owner had thought of all the little things to make our stay comfortable, well stocked kitchen. Conveniently located close to a grocery store. Our best snorkeling experience at Black rock (its like a mini molokini without the crowds). Minutes from Lahaina for the ladies to shop. Nice and quiet, several zen moments simply sitting on the lanai and taking in the scenery (sunsets, rainbows)

Loved the condo, it was easy to find and dealing with Lyn is a breeze. Our favorite thing was making breakfast and eating it out on the lanai. The view is beautiful and private. Having snorkle gear handy was great. The bed was comfortable and the towels made me realize I needed new ones at home. The guide books and local music cds was a nice touch. I will try to stay here again the next time we come to Maui.

      Wonderful holiday

Left on 04/25/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We stayed two times at the Maui Kai in the 1980's and have been on holidays, staying at different accommodation on Maui a couple of times since. We decided on this trip to go back to the the Maui Kai due our very good memories of it. The location right on the beach is excellent. The pictures of unit 504 we viewed prior to booking it were exactly as we found it. The view from the balcony overlooking the ocean with views of the islands was fantastic. Nothing beats watching a terrific sunset with a nice bottle of wine enjoying a meal from the barbecue. We saw whales , sea turtles, kite boarders, surfers from the deck. It is possible to walk along the beach or on the boardwalk which starts near the Maui Kai all the way to Black Rock and the Whalers Village. The unit was very comfortable and well stocked with amenities including binoculars, boogie boards, beach mats and books. While we went exploring many other beaches, one of the best features of this location is the ability to go down to the lobby, out the door and be right on the beach and able to go snorkeling right away. The size of the unit is good for 3 adults but would be somehat crowded for more than this.

It's been a couple weeks since we spent 9 days on Maui enjoying our morning coffee and daily sunsets on the lanai of Maui Kai 504 and there hasn't been a day that has passed that I haven't closed my eyes and thought about it. The condo was perfect! We walked in and our expectations were instantly exceeded. The view is breathtaking and the accomodations were thoughtful, clean, organized, and felt just like home. Even though it was our first time to Hawaii and Maui Kai 504, it felt like we had been there before - it just welcomed us in and was a cozy place to rest our heads after our daily Maui adventures. Overall, it felt like Maui Kai (and 504 in particular) was a special little treasure tucked away in the corner of Kaanapali. The grounds are well cared for, the condo is stocked with everything you need (and more!), the beach is just a hop and a skip out the door, and the view in unparalleled. All I can say is, it would be foolish not to jump at a chance to stay in this little piece of heaven. We have made a vow to return (maybe next year?) and enjoy it all over again. Pure bliss.

We spent 6 nights at the Maui Kai in 504. The condo had everything you could possible need or want to make your vacation comfortable. I planned our vacation over 1 year ago and had many email conversations with Lyn Magorne, the owner, asking different questions. Lyn made me feel very comfortable and excited about renting directly from an owner. We have not done that before. She could not have been more accommodating! The condo was so clean, which is one of my number one requirements. We would sit on the lanai every morning and evening and watch the whales and dolphins. I lost count we saw so many! The Maui Kai is located directly on the beach. Just go out the lobby door and you are on the beach! I only wish we were still on the lanai! Thanks for making our vacation stay a memory of a lifetime!

Left on 01/07/2010 for a stay in November 2009

Loved, loved, loved staying at #504 of the Maui Kai. It was exactly what we
were looking for- a clean, quiet, safe, not run-down place where we can make
and eat our own food, in the middle of everything, right on the beach so we
don't have to drive to it, and with a spectacular view from our lanai so don't
feel "stuck" in our place when the kids were sleeping. It was just a little
cramped for our family of 4 but it was fine. We knew it was a one bedroom
before we booked it and expected this. By the way, if our kids were older, they
could have stayed up later and slept on the sofabed and I don't think it
wouldn't have felt that way.... Also, we never closed our lanai sliding doors
(the entire ocean facing wall was glass) because we loved hearing the ocean
sounds our entire 9 day stay. Even booking it was super easy online. We all
(including my 5 year old) still talk about it and miss it a couple of months
later. We decided we have to stay here again the next time we go to Maui.

      Great Stay in 504

Left on 11/14/2009 for a stay in November 2009

We have just departed from unit 504 at Maui Kai and have left with very positive impressions. We traveled with our two children aged 9 and 11 and would recommend this place to other families wishing to get their own space and get away from the bustle of the resort hotels.

The place has a fantastic location right on the beach front, and I mean right on the beach front! Step out of the condo and you are on the beach. Two more steps and you are in the sea! The views are great. Every apartment must get the fantastis view we had. Completely uninterrupted views out to sea.

The apartment we stayed in was spotless, and the same could be said of the rest of the place. It is kept in very good order with the BBQ cleaner than I can get my own.

The apartment is big enough for two but a little cramped for a family of four, but you knew what we were doing before we booked. The sofa bed in the living room is not the world's most comfortable but what sofa bed is.

The unit is so well stocked with the needs of the traveler. Every kitchen utensil is provided as is beach gear, coolers, snorkel sets, iPod dock, good cable package, the list goes on.

The place is ideal if you want to get away for some peace and quiet. If you want big pools, resort entertainment, loud music and loud people then go elsewhere. If you want to relax and kick back with your own cooking on the lanai and watch the sea with some cold ones, then this is the place for you.

Left on 10/09/2009 for a stay in September 2009

We stayed in two different condos during our two weeks in the Maui Kai to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. This condo was nicely appointed and has a very comfortable bed with a beautiful view of the ocean and surrounding islands from the lanai and of the in-land mountain valley from the bedroom. We only stayed a few days here, and it looked like the cleaning staff decided not to dust or sweep the floors before we arrived, but that didn't detract from the wonderful dinners we had on the lanai, or the romantic sunsets. The Maui Kai really is the closest condo to the water in the Kaanapali Beach area and the staff, grounds, pool, and overall environment were all top notch. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a quiet stay on Maui with all the beauty and local amenities that the Hyatt, Sheraton, and Ritz have to offer as well as all the comforts of home.

We took comfort that at the end of the day after going on an excursion around the island that we were coming back to comfortable furnishings, an excellent kitchen, and a nice shower. We loved sitting out on the lanai in the morning, taking in the gorgeous views. We are very excited about returning for a ten day third visit this May 2. We never tire of this unbelievable oceanfront property. Later we mosey on down to the awesome sandy beach and take a dip in the waves. If you are not a beach lover there is a pool close by. We are always impressed with how well the grounds are cared for, lush greens and beautiful flowers abound. Stay at the Maui Kai

Left on 04/23/2009 for a stay in September 2004

Quite a few years back we stayed at this resort, and i use that name loosely. The actual apartment was done very nicely; the view of the ocean is very good. There's no reception area per se; the overall building reminds me of a tenement in a poor neighborhood and the pool is across the parking lot surrounded by concrete blocks. There is NO beachfront as there is no beach in front...only ocean. A retaining wall protects the lobby from the ocean rushing in. The shower in the apartment overflowed to the apartment below and not by any fault of ours. My wife and I are very careful and clean when we stay in someone else's apartment. Wouldn't recommend this rental building at all.

Since 2004, we have completely redecorated and made several other upgrades such as an additional granite counter with new maple cabinets in the bathroom, new living room and dining room furnishings and balcony high table and swivel chairs on the lanai. A problem with the shower at the time was quickly remedied. Maui Kai is a smaller structure constructed of cement block which helps to eliminate noise compared to some of the large hotel-type buildings. As Maui Kai has the closest proximity to the ocean in West Maui, it is regularly maintained including re-spalling of the building, new paint and trim. The landscaping of the building has been upgraded with many Hawaiian flowers, plants, and waterfalls.
The pool and spa are part of a larger cabana area which includes an indoor kitchen, bathrooms, computer with printer, ping-pong table, and library. Outside is a large area for sunbathing and visiting, a covered picnic area, and gas barbecues. Perhaps his visit was during one of the rare storms that could bring in high surf and reduce the beach temporarily. However, North Ka'anapali Beach in front of Maui Kai actually stretches for three miles, all the way to Black Rock.
Maui Kai is not a hotel with one a grandiose entryway, but it does have a pleasant sitting area for resting and visiting now complete with orchids and newer furniture as well as free morning coffee and newspapers for purchase. Maui Kai is a location guests enjoy returning to year after year.
