The beautiful 1 bedroom unit is on the ground floor and you can walk directly out to the grassy area from your lanai (the Hawaiian word for furnished patio), or go a few steps further and jump in the ocean! The master bedroom has a king size and its own TV and the couch in the living room is actually a queen size sofa sleeper. The unit can sleep up to 4 people.
The bamboo furniture compliments the tropical decor on the walls and bedding in this lovely condo. The flat screen TV in the living room has DVD capability. The kitchen is recently remodeled decorated with light wood cabinets, gray marble counter tops, and includes a dishwasher.... It has been left open looking out into the living room, which also has a 4 person dining table. There is additional seating on the lanai. Ceiling fans keep this unit cool.
This amazing complex includes a swimming pool, grill for barbequing, and grassy oceanfront property. Beyond the Kahana Reef community guests can enjoy surfing lessons, hiking tours, farms with horseback riding, dinner luaus, sport fishing for tuna or marlin, and sunset boat cruises! A parking spot is included in each reservation for those who choose to rent cars.

Had a couple of minor problems, but a repairman was there within an
hour. We get the same unit every year for our 3 week stay. Right on
the beach and quiet. Only thing missing is a screen door on the front
door so we can have some cross ventilation.

At first glance the accommodations look ok - it wasn't until a few days in that we fully understood how cheaply the condo had been put together.
The hide a bed was extremely old and unsuitable for someone to sleep on. After calling Chase and Rainbows the next day to discuss the bed - they said they could not do anything until i demanded my money back and said i would find new accommodations. It was resolved quite quickly by bringing a blow up bed that sat in the living room taking up a lot of space. If the hide a bed is that old - don't advertise sleeping up to "4" people.
Poor stove that some of the burners did not work, broken lampshades, cracked glasses, brackets missing to hold up shelevs in the cupboard, exhaust vent with screw and layers of dust hanging in the bathroom was examples of the inattention to detail when renting out this place.
The king bed did not have a bedskirt and showcased a dirty mattress, linens that were on the hide a bed had holes and were not replaced.
When i called Chase n Rainbows to get the internet fixed (not working on Christmas Day)on Dec. 26th - my CSR had the audacity to say that i seem to be paying a lot of attention to the condo and wasn't i out enjoying the beautiful beaches? Why didn't i call earlier to report the cracked glasses? Well - i am not about to have someone come out on Christmas Eve or Christmas to deal with something that frankly should have been noted and addressed before i arrived at the rental. The CSR returned my cleaning deposit - found this out when i returned home as there was no call or personal email addressing my comments.
I don't think this was satisfactoy compensation - i paid over $200 per night and for that condo in it's current state with fraying carpet and other numerous issues - it was unacceptable. View was nice - that unfortunately was only thing going for it.

We stayed at the Kahana Reef #121 in March and had an amazing stay! The condo was modern, quiet, and had a great view of the ocean. We watched the whales every morning and evening. Was a 10-13 minute drive to Lahaina but the roads were always good and it never seemed a hassle to drive for groceries or whatever activites we were headed to. Would definitely stay here again

For the most part the room as good. The kitchen could use more cooking supplies,Could have used a screen on the front door, and the refrigerator door wouldn't stay closed and keep things cold. But other then that, our stay was enjoiable and we love coming home to Maui and visiting friends and touring the island. Aloha and Mahalo.

This is the second time we have stayed in this condo. Love the location and the view. However, the huge cockroaches we killed everyday made me sick. Had to call and have the exterminator come again. Its a nice condo, but the smoking policy stinks. People do not follow the 20ft from the building rule. Gross. Love the redecorating they did, nice island feel.

We were pretty happy with this unit. We were travelling with other family that were only two doors down. The place was nicely remodeled.
Unfortunately, the kitchen was lacking as it was missing a number of cooking items. Does not appear the owners spend much time there or the kitchen would be better stocked.
The front door did not have a screen door on it like most other units in the complex. A screen would allow the front door to be open during the day for ventilation and, if lockable, some added security.
Floor fans were non-existent. We had purchased two so that helped us but future guest might not be so lucky. Seems like floor fans are a necessity in Hawaii.
Surprisinly, there was no stereo or CDs in the unit. This is the first condo we have ever stayed in that did not have a stereo or CDs provided.
Definitely did not like the slider door curtains. They need to be vertical blinds that will open the front window up for a much better ocean view. That would also help for better ventilation.

This was our 4th year coming to the reef and it seems to get better each year. The rentals are clean and well kept and we are looking forward to it again next Jan. As long as we keep coming to Maui this is where we want to stay.
